Part Two - New World - Chapter [037]

We traveled the Outlands at blazing speeds, the open field, the air against our clothes, the sun shining on our skin, the ground swishing by against our feet. Just the freedom was exhilarating.

We had taken a turn somewhere that led us East, I wasn't sure and had to completely rely on Arslan for he knew this land better than me, and it's not like I had a waypoint marker to let me know where to go next.

Suddenly we crossed a clearing and in the distance, I saw a giant tower.

I couldn't help but notice.

"What's that giant tower?!" I asked over the comms.

A giant tower with a red bacon on top.

"That's an Orientator," said Arslan. "It's meant to orient people," he dries chuckled.

"Really- and how do people use them?" I asked.

"Uh - actually - I don't know of anyone who uses them, they have been pretty much inactive all my life," he noticed. And yet the blinking light was shining even in the daylight.

It was kind of strange.

"Hold on we're almost near the Valley of Lucile!" He boomed over the microphone. I just squeezed harder at his abs.

The bike jumped and suddenly we were washing downstream, as we traveled, white herons flocked from under us and took flight, it became an incredible sight. The Valley of Lucile seemed deeper than the rest of the land, but this was a mountain terrain, full of ruins and rocks, there was no path to speak of, so we made our path.

Then we passed over some water and it flowed through us as we broke the air.

Arslan driving was top-notch, I also have a bike at home, so it felt natural riding one.

Mine probably said more luxury than this model. It was clear this was a factory line one. But the one I bought for myself did cost more than my parents had ever given me.

But it didn't take a lot of convincing for me to get them to say yes.

My dad loved the idea - my mom did have some concerns but after she saw me test drive it she was convinced it was safe.

Of course when it comes to cars and bikes - it's probably the only high-end taste I have, as my bike was black with gold lines.

A luxury brand among luxury brands. So I did spend a bit - but never has it broken down, or crashed, it's a city bike that's for sure. But I always feel like a million bucks when I rid of it.

Why was I thinking about it now?

However, the one we were on right was incredibly convenient. High class and rode fast and silently. Perfect for stealth.

"We're almost to the Hill of Miter," Arslan beckoned. Pulling me out of my daydream.
