Part Two - New World - Chapter [036]

We walked over to the front of the estate where he had a garage building. Arslan had to physically lift the door but managed to do so with little effort. As light entered the shed, I saw a sort of vehicle I could only describe as a motorbike.

"Here he is!" Said Arslan as he pushed the bike out of the garage and into the dirt.

It hovered.

The plastic covering was floating off the ground.

Arslan peeled it off like true showmanship and revealed a beautiful machine.

Blue and black in its color scheme, the thing was more akin to a gun, except it looked bulky and strong, yet lightweight, a front so big it was big enough to fit two of my heads, it looked alien almost the medieval fantasy that had been perked up in the background against me.

"Is this the bike you were referring to?" I gurgled.

"Uh - Yeah," he gushed, my excitement was quite visible.

"Wow!" I griped. I was a little jealous. The bike exuded cool - the lower part was bulky and strong, yet lightweight and swift. The chassis was like two of my heads.

The epitome of masculinity.

Arslan suddenly got on it, with the back to his front.

The bike bounced under his weight but didn't touch the floor.

He took off the backpack and handed it to me. I took it and put it on without saying a word.

He was making space for me to get on.

"We're leaving now?" I asked.

"Yeah - everyone knows already - and Everrett is bound to come back tonight, I'd rather avoid him for a couple of days,"

"Will the guild be okay?" I asked.

"Oh yeah -" he said confidently.

"They'll be fine - the science guys will do the science thing and everyone already knows their training drill - the sleepy town runs on its own, the farmers will continue to farm, the river will continue to flow, and everything will be in its right place," he said almost softly.

"Don't we say goodbye?"

"If you want - I can wait for you," I looked over at the science building. Melancholy shifted in my eyes. Arslan looked to see where I was watching.

"They know you're leaving," he said.

"Come on get up." He motioned for me to get on the back of the bike, there was a small seat

I could fit on perfectly. And it was angled in such a way that I would have to lean forward and hug Arslan to keep balance.

"You're right…" I said and jumped on the bike, still upright. From the front pocket of the bike.

He pulled out two collars and handed one to me.

"Do it like this,!" He said and wrapped the collar around his neck, pushing two magnets together, it clicked into place. A helmet started to materialize right before my eyes until it covered his whole head, tinting dark because of the sun.

"Woah!" I did the same and suddenly my head was inside a nice cosey helmet.

"Hello, hello testing?!" Arslan suddenly came through inside my helmet.

"It has mics too!" I shouted over the telecom.

"It's a short wave, like the rings we bought," I remembered the onyx ring around my finger, I still didn't understand, but I guessed it was magic. Or something similar. This way we could communicate.

Arslan had mentioned how those rings would connect us if we ever get lost from one another.

All I needed was music and a GPS.

And with that, we were off, out towards the town,

"Yeah!" I shouted with uproar. Pulling my head up like a rollercoaster, only to push my weight against his back and wrap around my arms around his waist.

We traveled towards the town center and then took a right towards the Wide Bank, passing through the river and the North Ward, and then just like that the little quaint town and the space opened up into a giant sprawling open field.
