17 Spirit's Boon and Item Making

His training in item making would begin early tomorrow and unlike martial training, it required more time and resources so it would take up most if not all of Nox's morning which would reduce his time in the dungeon but he was fine with that.

Nox knew that he would benefit quite a bit from having all those crafting skills down before his first rank up so he didn't mind that his growth would become slightly slower. Tonight though, he would be focusing on trying to convert the knowledge he gained through his observations into actual spirit based power.

After a night of gruelling effort, Nox had managed to create a spell that satisfied him. ALthough far from the achievement that his Mind Veins were, it was a promising start nonetheless.

Spirit's Boon: Blessing of the spirits that last for a period of time based on the amount of mind used when casting the spell. Increases power, range, area of effect and efficiency of all magic. Allows the user to infuse magic into items much more easily while the effects are active. Further enhances the effects of spirits based magic or items.

In a nutshell, Spirit's Boon would allow Nox to emulate the effects of the Crozzo Blood skill for a limited time and used the power of the spirits to increase the power of his magic with the effect being even more potent on spirit magic and items.

This served Nox well enough for now. As such, he would be trying to spy on more adventurers skills, magic and specially curses to see if there is something to be gained for the next few nights.

But first, Nox needed to brush up on stealth and if he could reproduce Asfi's Hades Head's effects with magic it would be great. On that note it was time to visit the Hermes Familia home, the Traveler's Inn, to start his magic item crafting lessons.

Arriving at the location, Nox knocked on the door and waited for a little bit until a female chienthrope opened the door for him. She had black hair, brown eyes, and light brown Chienthrope ears on the sides of her head and a tail and was wearing red shorts with matching red boots and a red jacket with a crimson scarf with black gloves, a black belt, and a black shirt underneath her jacket.

"Welcome to the traveler's Inn! Are you the kid coming to learn Item making from Asfi?" She asked.

"That's right! I'm Nox Lyros. Nice to meet you beautiful onee-san!" Greeted Nox with a cute smile making the girl feel as she she had been struck in the heart with the cupid's arrow as she thought.

'Soooo Cuuuute! Kyah!' with a blush but tried not to show it as she introduced herself.

"My name is Lulune Louie! Nice to meet you!" She said.

"Okay Lulu-san! Can I come in?" Nox immediately gave her a pet name and asked if he could come in since she was blocking the way.

'Lulu-san!? Hmmm . . . It actually sounds very nice!' She thought.

"Lulu-san?" Asked Nox since she didn't seem to be moving.

"Ah! Sorry, Sorry. Yes you can come in. I'll take you to Asfi." Lulune said after being brought out of her thoughts by Nox.

Lulune led Nox through the Traveler's inn but, despite its relatively small size at least when compared to the Twilight Manor, he didn't spot any other member of the Hermes Familia. A couple of seconds later, the pair reached a door to a workshop in the basement and Lulune opened the door and entered dragging Nox behind her.

"Lulune! I told you multiple times to knock before entering a room!" Asfi said authoritatively.

"Heeck! Sorry Asfi . . . I'll be more careful next time." Said Lulune.

"That's what you always say but you never are!" Said Asfi causing Lulune to scratch the back of her head with a guilty smile before running away saying.

"Well I brought you here Nox, I'll catch you some other time!" She said as she made herself scarce.

Asfi merely sighed before apologising and introducing herself.

"I'm sorry you had to see that. My name is Asfi Al Andromeda. I'll be teaching you the basics of item making!"

Asfi was a beauty in glasses with blue hair and cyan colored eyes with a serious and hard working attitude. She was a Level 4 adventurer and one of the most famous item makers in Orario if not the most.

"My name is Nox Lyros! I look forward to your teachings Asfi-sensei!" Nox greeted with his signature smile.

Asfi also blushed a bit but unlike Lulune she merely seemed to like the sensei appellation by Nox.

"I look forward to teaching you as well, Nox-kun."

And so, the lessons started. Nox had figured the mechanics behind item making were not very complicated, you just had to craft an item and imbue it with magic, simple as that. The problem was that this was incredibly hard to do without the Mystery development ability.

Nox's skill at manipulating magic aas well as his newly developed Spirit's Boon would be the key to help him succeed in this endeavour of his.

Unlike before, he spent every single morning at the Travelers Inn rather than attempting to learn multiple things at once. Since it was a more complicated thing lo learn, this was necessary. Asfi had also taught him the basics of potion making even though it wasn't in the contract after being impressed by both his phenomenal talent and dedication.

Nox had also learned so forging and metalwork since one had to create items before imbuing them with said magic. This meant he would not be a total noob when he went to learn smithing but for now, his experience was only through working on relatively small items.

He chatted with Lulune often when visiting the Hermes Familia home and even went out for drinks with her once or twice. Nox had also started participating in some gambling matches with the members of the Hermes Familia and had gotten closer to most of them.

Still, even though they had not gone out for anything not related to their lessons, Nox still had gotten the closest with Asfi since they had spent quite a lot of time together. He often ha interesting ideas due to his accurate grasp on how magic flowed in things and had gained Asfi's respect because of his fine ideas and they became quite close.

This surprised the rest of her familia when they saw her chatting with Nox, a small smile on her face and even chuckling from time to time. Clearly Nox was a charmer and Asfi also appreciated his enthusiasm when it came to learning new things and persistently practising them.

Due to growing closer to her, Nox was able to request a demonstration of some of Asfi's magic items which led to some interesting knowledge he might be able to apply not only to his own item making but also his magic.

Another week passed by and although Nox's stats didn't improve by much when compared to before, this was not only due to the lesser amount of time he spent in the dungeon but also due to the difficulty in raising his basic abilities when they were at such an high level.

To compensate for this, Nox started to take more risks, charging at the monsters faster, not softening up large groups with barrages of magic before jumping in or restricting the use of magic, even the self enhancement type when fighting the Level 2 Infant Dragon.

This all helped to compensate and ended up resulting in a considerable boost to Nox's basic abilities. His more aggressive and risky style also ended up making his endurance stat start to catch up to the others before long due to all the extra hits he was taking.

His stats were already too monstrous. He could easily take on level two adventurers even without using any magic. This level of power honestly shocked Loki to the core since Nox was single handedly destroying rules that governed adventurers for centuries.

She had sworn him to secrecy and to not reveal his status to anyone under any circumstance. She even didn't tell about this to the other members of the familia since the less people that knew the better and Loki wasn't willing to take any risks on this matter for now.

As this week ended, Asfi had determined that his level was already more than acceptable so she declared her job over but also said.

"Regardless, you will always be welcomed here as a friend Nox. This is a sentiment shared by all of us." She announced being backed by the rest of the Hermes Familia.

Nox thanked her for her efforts in teaching him and said he would return often to gamble and go for drinks with his new friends as well as to discuss various matters with Asfi, something he had grown to love doing with it being the same for the blue haired girl. Curiously, he had yet to meet Hermes who was always doing something somewhere else.

Regardless, in this time period, Nox had managed to gather quite an amount of resources to develop new curses through sneaking around with his newly developed stealth magic and he would be starting his training in smithing with the Hephaestus Familia as well. Nox was also thinking about going for the middle floors since the upper ones no longer posed a significant challenge.

Nox had also thought about finding Lili and getting her as a supporter, this way he could better focus on battle and leave the work of collecting the spoils to her, with his sensory abilities he wasn't worried about getting scammed and would get a new waifu to boot so he didn't see why not.
