The Apex Alpha

Seth was a legendary assassin with metahuman abilities. He was so feared that a country was willing to risk sending all of their metahumans as well as the many metahuman mercenaries they hired in order to bring him down after he killed several political leaders and their families. After killing several thousand metahumans, Seth was finally brought down. But he was fine with it. He knew that with all the damage that he had caused, he would eventually be killed. And he was prepared for his death and he regretted nothing. What he was not prepared for though, was what came after. -------- Hmmm. Death has relieved me of all this pain that all those bastards had caused me. The only thing I am disappointed about is not being able to spend all that money I made. What is that light? I know that I would not head to heaven and there is too little cackling for hell. Where am I? I've been reincarnated? Interesting! I read novels about that when I was younger but never expected it to be true. Wait. What? What happened to my reincarnation and golden finger? Note: Art is not mine. Credit to the original owner/s (I like to change my cover art around at first) and will take it down if they got an issue with it or I just wanna change it.

Chapter 10: Discharged

Alex nodded his head and took in all the information given to him. He felt that it was all valuable information that he had to have memorized.

'If I am going to be a proper Alpha, I need to make sure I listen properly.'

In all honesty, this was not important stuff but the bare basics that would have been explained to him when he took the test.

Titanium interrupted his thoughts though.

"Since you have been cleared and are alright, you can remain in here until tomorrow. After that, we will take you to Association HQ to have you register before we take you to 1st International HS.

Ripper can explain any other basic stuff that you want to know."

Alex agreed since he knew he had no choice but looked at Ms. Lily with sad eyes. He knew that it would be the last time he would be able to see her for the next 3 years but he cheered up when he thought about seeing Samantha again.

'This kid is a fool,' Seth thought. 'His mind is not on the person he killed or even his powers but on two women. Women, he is not even having relations with. He is... truly... the most pathetic host I could have ever gotten.'

Seth was more interested in the tests the Association would put Alex through as well as the information he would be able to get at the school. He was even considered giving Alex more than just basic fire manipulation and upgrading it to intermediate. But after entertaining the thought for a few minutes, he dismissed it.

'This kid is a fool and weak-willed. Me giving him more power might end up with him just being someone else's pawn.'

After being stuck with Alex and reading all of his memories, Seth knew Alex better than he knew himself.

'This kid is pathetic and just not up to my standards. He is the type that joins an organization just because they show him the smallest amount of kindness. Pretty sure the Church of Lysola would have loved having someone like him in there.'

The pair quickly left the room and left Ms. Lily and Alex alone in the room. The pair sat in silence for a short amount of time before Ms. Lily broke it.

"It is excellent that you are now an Alpha, Alex. I no longer need to worry about you or you being bullied as long as you stand strong. You are going to the 1st International High soon so you need to make sure that you stand up for yourself."

'Ha!,' Seth mentally scoffed at the woman's words.

"Samantha is also there but you should not rely on her. You need to be your own person. Maybe even stay away from her."

Ms. Lily knew Samantha's true character and tried to let Alex down gently. But to Alex, when she said this, Alex looked as if he heard the craziest thing ever. He never thought that one of the only two people he was close to would want him to stay away from the other.

All the positive thoughts he had about Ms. Lily disappeared at that moment. Even if she was the woman who raised him, Samantha was the only friend he had in all of his life and was the reason he had to live. He would never allow anyone to come between him and Samantha.

Without giving away his real thoughts though, Alex replied "I understand, Ms. Lily. I will try my best to listen to your words and no longer rely on her."

As for who the 'her' was, only Seth and Alex were sure. Seth found the situation funny though.

'The boy really chose a bitch who abandoned him over the woman who raised him. At least this kid will keep me entertained for a while.'

Ms. Lily sat with Alex for another hour or so before he said that he was tired and wanted to sleep as an excuse to get her to leave. Although Alex thought he was being sly, how could someone twice his age and much more experienced not understand what he was doing?

Hoping that he was just pouting and their relationship would return to normal soon, Ms. Lily smiled and acted as if nothing was wrong when she left. Alex cried himself to sleep that night at the thought of abandoning Ms. Lily but he was resolute.

The night passed by swiftly but not silently. Several nurses and doctors heard his attempted silent crying and were silently looking down on him but none said anything. They knew that Alex was an Alpha so they kept their thoughts to themselves and their faces straight went they saw him the next morning.

Around 8 in the morning, the pair Lilac and Titanium came to pick up Alex without Ms. Lily insight. It seemed like she was going to give Alex some distance so that he could come to terms with what he said and wanted himself.

The group was originally going to take his examination at the local Association branch but decided against it due to the date. The entrance ceremony for 1st International would start the next day so they were going to board a plane with a local teen who was also going to head to the school.
