Chapter 10: A Mothers Love(part 02)

"You sure you should waste your time like this kid?"

Karma and V comically look at Vergo while playing chess and eating noodles. 

Vergo-" You've been in the subliminal space for a while now…also where'd you even find that?"

V-" The noodles? You want some?"

Karma-" It's quite delicious, I can confirm-"

Vergo-" NOBODY ASKED, ALSO YES MAKE ME A CUP!"

Vergo, Karma, and V slurp on some noodles while they play Chess as Vergo watches.

Vergo-"As i was *slurp* saying *slurp*..You need *Slurp* a new *Intense slurping*"

V-" Eat first dude then speak-"

The 3 of them ate to their hearts' content.

Vergo-" Now getting into business…All of us here are aware that you're not living among humans and yet you do nothing"

V-" Yeah… there's something wrong here and it's not something I can forcefully figure out"

Karma-" A rational decision indeed…and that 'something' is the reason why you're here?"

V-" Yeah I was trying to figure out my Gifts a bit more before I have to fight in case"

Vergo-" My my how diligent you are~ what are you? A nerd?... then? Ya figured out anything?"

V-" Nope-

Vergo-" YEP THIS GUY'S HOPELESS"

Karma-" Farewell"

V-" HEY HEY AIT A MIN- I AIN'T DONE COME BACK."

Vergo-" The Gift I gave you is Avarice, it's got special properties and can be used however the user wants it"

V-" Yeah so before you both came here I was testing things out and experimenting with 'Avarice' and figured out some keynotes."

Vergo-" Ho?"

V-" First, Whenever I used Avarice, thousands of ragged teeth mouth would come out and would consume anything and everything in front and around it. That's the base form of it, But whenever I use something as a medium to activate 'Avarice' instead of mouths, black flames would come out. The catch is even though they look like flames they almost have a liquid state to them. knowing all this I figured out how I created the new technique that I used against my battle with Azazel."

Karma-" It was I think called 'Null' Right?"

V-" Yeah…figuring this part out helped me visualize and use Null more easily but I also learned something about Null"

Karma-" And that would be?"

V-" Instead of mouths that consume everything in sight, the black flames that make 'Null' nullify every substance or anything it touches and bring it to its' 0' state. Meaning it nullifies it to the point that anything touched by it will decay and lose all of its attributes by the second."

Vergo-"Heh~ Aint my Gift an op one hehehee"

V-" Well It's got a major drawback to it. Since it nullifies everything it touches that means anything engulfed by it will also get nullified…that means the longer I use it the more damaged my arms will get.. Although the effects take longer if I constantly regenerate my arm with minimal regeneration, my arms will still decay and hurt like hell. Restoring a whole arm from scratch would cause too much mental strain…I can fully regenerate limbs 3 times from scratch after that I'm out"

Vergo-" The damage is so much that it even destroys the user huh"

V-" Yeah…I can't even cover weapons with Null cuz they'd get nullified as well…"

Vergo-" Hmmm… I got an idea"

V-" What?"

Vergo-" I'll turn the pain sensitivity off and continue tearing your arms apart until you don't feel pain anymore"

V-" HOW THE FUCK DID COME UP TO THAT CONCLUSION??? YOU WANNA KILL ME OR SOMETHING??"

Vergo-" Relax kid, besides you can't die~ now gimme them arms hehehe~"

V-" NO FUCKING WAY I AINT DOING THIS SHIT-"

Karma-" Farewell~"

V-" AND WHY DO YOU KEEP TRYING TO LEAVE??"

Vergo-" Tch…here I thought that I'd have some fun…"

V-"  Hey! You got some kinda beef with me??HUH??"

Karma-" Anyway, Your course of action now is to find out a way to utilize that technique with minimal damage."

V-" No need… I've already figured out the solution…and a new technique…"

Previously, after discovering a large room filled with corpses and rescuing an unknown girl, V rushes to find and rescue Eve as V finds Eve, the monster in front of him charges at him. V initially thought he had killed it, but it evolved and inflicted significant damage. Now, the fight continues.

The human-like lady hides inside the body of the monster. seeing this V dashes forward. the monster strikes V with its giant lanky arm, V Slides under the arm and runs along the body of the monster, The monster spawns out multiple arms and tries to grapple V.V dodges the attacks but one of the arms lands a solid body blow. The monster grabs hold of V and yanks him into the wall. V breaks off the fingers to escape and runs on the arm to get close to attack. But another arm punches him directly which he was unable to dodge. The monster follows through with the punch but doesn't see V. The monster looks at its fist but doesn't see V.

V-" UP HERE DIPSHIT!"

The monster looks up and sees V falling from the ceiling, ready to punch. V swings his arm behind to punch. The monster puts out its arms to form a barricade. V punches so hard the arm barricade bursts open as the limbs get torn up from its force. V lands on the ground next to the lower part of its body and punches again, giving it a solid body blow. The monster got pushed back and a huge hole formed on its body.

V-" Good, if I keep punching it I can immobilize it"

V had thought he'd found a way to victory, but unexpectedly The monster snapped back and hit V right into the wall, breaking his spine.

V-" What just happened…I think…eh my spine is broken I can't move at all...It hurts so much… I'm also bleeding a lot..it's so hot…*Looks back at the monster* It's regenerating??!"

The monster swiftly regenerates from V's attacks.

V-" Regeneration huh… that's quite…troublesome you know…but..2 can play at that game.."

V restores his spine to its original state and fixes any other abnormalities on his body.

V-" Looks like normal punches aren't gonna cut it huh…"

V points his index finger at the monster, he then points his finger down indicating the monster,

"Come at me... I'll play along with you.."

The monster smiles back at him and dashes towards him, V follows along and runs towards the monster. The monster puts out a barrage of attacks, V slips through them, dodges them, blocking them, everything he can do to get closer and closer to the monster. this feeling of fighting something he wasn't so much aware of…

V-" This is so weird even though this monster trying so hard to kill me it's still smiling at me as if it's having fun playing some type of game…and even so… I wonder why I'm grinning so much…excitement?? No, right now at this moment all I'm feeling is the fun of playing someone with equal footing"

V slips through and gets under the legs of the monster, V jumps and lands a hit on the monster's abdomen. The monster spews out a ton of liquids. Another hand images and strikes launching him into the air. V grabs onto the arm and lands on the ground, he plants his feet under it, and using every strength in his body, he lifts the monster's body by swinging around and around and throws it against the wall while tearing up his arm. V in an instant dashes into the monster to land a solid punch, The monster barricades its side again with its arms. and spawns another arm which grazes V's face, but it doesn't stop V from landing his punch. This time he does something different.

V-" DON'T THINK THIS IS A NORMAL PUNCH SHITHEAD-"

Black flames could be seen from V's fist. As he lands his fist the contact area of his fist starts to decay, breaking the defense of the monster. the punch follows through and directly hits the monster's main body. The monster screams in agony as its ribcage starts to decay slowly. Another arm yanks V into the wall. The monster uses that time to regenerate but is unable to regenerate the damaged part of its body.

V-" Hahaha…as I thought this would work…you can't regenerate from this type of attack dipshit… I'll keep using Null until you submit"

The Monster screeches in pain and rage. The monster stretches out its hand and smashes V into the ground. The monster keeps smashing V again and again with no intention of stopping. The monster had been attacking so much, that the ground cracks and dust gets everywhere. The monster stops and the dust clears out. V is nowhere to be seen. As soon as the monster looks over to its side it sees V running toward it.

V-" Too slow dipshit-"

"NULL!!"

V lands another punch on its ribcage, The monster screams and quickly tries to counter but V has already changed locations. V puts some distance from the monster. he looks at his knuckles to check.

V-" Just as I thought…This plan might work better than expected."

The monster lunges forward and opens a barrage of attacks. V swiftly tries to escape as best as he can occasionally hitting back some of the attacks, nullifying them. V looks at his knuckles again. only to see his knuckles had worn off as his fingers were barely hanging on.

V-" Out of steam huh…no worries I'll just regenerate!"

V restores his knuckles to their original state.

V-" Just as I thought…using Null would mean I'd have less amount of turns to regenerate and once I'm out of heals I'd be dead meat...But if instead of covering my entire arm in Null, if I only cover my knuckles with it…even though the effect of the decay is less…The force of my punch alone can break the shit out of it!!!"

V keeps on countering the attacks of the monster, leaving less and less room for the monster to counter. Just as V had thought he had the monster cornered, something weird happened. it was like a bright light flashing before V's eyes. In an instant, V had changed locations. He was no longer in that cave fighting the monster, The scene had shifted.

Nothing. nothing was around V. He was floating around in the darkness. The darkness crept behind V, softly wrapping him around. Yet the atmosphere was somewhat familiar to V, He felt as if he was somewhere where he used to be. The scene shifts again. He looked around nervously, He looked in front of him as he saw a wooden chair under a spotlight. V, confused as to why a random chair would be out here in a place devoid of anything. suddenly the woman in silk from before walks towards the chair. V looked from afar to see what was happening. The woman gets closer and closer and as she tries to touch the chair, A voice speaks up,

"You're not supposed to be here little one-"

The woman stopped as soon as she heard the voice. Horror falls into her face as the woman looks in front of her. She falls back, squirming and trying so hard to get away from that chair. This scene baffled V as he had no clue as to what had happened just now. The woman hastily gets up, runs back, and bumps into V on the way. The moment The woman bumped V, a surge of emotions, what had felt like memories flooded through V like a body of water mixing in with a flowing river.The emotions of the victims, The horrible pictures of how they were brutally murdered, humiliated, and tortured without showing any signs of quick death. The cries of those souls overflowed out of V, making him internally sick as tears of pure disgust and rage came out. The cries got louder and louder, Louder screams…

They begged not for freedom but for death.

The scene reverts to normal. V looks around to see he has returned. V looked at his hands as all he could think of was what he could do to make the souls of these people find solace. The answer was clear as day for him, As he stood up he could see the monster acting out a bit differently, as if The human and the monsters had switched their roles.

V-" I see…so that's how you ended them huh …you get inside their minds, find out their most loved memory of their lifetime, and replicate the same feeling almost as if you were giving them some kind of a sweet fever dream…almost as if you were creating a place for them to stay happy for forever…But that's all just a lie huh?"

V takes off his shoes, He widens his stance, and as he plants his feet, the surrounding area starts to crack little by little, as he charges up for what seems to be his final attack.

V-"...Something like getting inside of my head wouldn't work…cuz even I don't know what I'm supposed to be…funny... I feel as if we're pretty similar…but you see…the difference between you and me is… "

The monster lunges and goes on a full barrage. thousands of mouths form around them and hands, itching to grab V almost as if they were ready to fully consume V.V. covers his entire arm with Null and charges it to the max, it looked like cinders were coming out of his hands, and ashes flowed through the air. This was the final stretch.

The monster attacks first and tries to grapple V but in an instant, V disappears. The monster looks above. V descends. The monster gets closer and closer and the mouths come in front, The mouths bite off V's left leg but that alone does not stop him. Another mouth comes in high speed and tears off the entire left side of V's face and ear. But that didn't stop V, he didn't care if he'd lost a leg or got his face torn off, all V could think was landing this last punch. V descends further and further until the actual body of the monster shows itself, as the upper part of that woman comes into contact. The monster swiftly tried to cover the woman's body with its arms but as the arms wrapped around, V was already in front of her. It was as if time was going by slowly, no matter what the monster did, This time..it was checkmate.

"I DON'T HAVE AN END-"

V directly lands his punch. The arms surrounding the woman get nullified. V showed no signs of stopping even at the cost of his arm turning into ash but he didn't stop until he'd finished what he'd started. One more punch, one more and he could get revenge for all those souls. As such, he hits her directly and the woman begins to deteriorate victory is in his sight.

"..I'm…sorry-"

A voice echoed into V's head. which made him stutter. He looked up at the woman, as she held out her arms, The scene stunned V. The woman had slowly deteriorated and had died. The body of the monster stops moving entirely and shuts down. It had finally ended. The fierce battle between them had ended with V being victorious but something didn't feel right to V. This wasn't it, he thought to himself as he looked up in a daze trying to figure out what had happened and what that voice was about. He looks at Eve.

V-"...I should take Eve out of here-"

As V took a step, The corpse of the monster started acting up, going berserk. The monster grabbed onto V's leg and swung him across the walls and the debris. The monster tries to reconstruct itself but fails again and again. It screams as it tries to recollect its limbs, trying to rebuild. The monster doesn't let any opening for V and keeps bashing V into the ground. Again and again and again it didn't stop it didn't want to stop until it made sure V had died off. The monster yanks V to the wall and punctures through his limbs, fixing him into the wall. The pain made V scream, his body had had enough and was on the verge of breaking down together. Bloodied face, V glances at the monster.

V-"... I can't even regenerate my arm anymore or my wounds now…I'm fully out…Ahh… at least I wanted Eve to be safe but I guess that's not happening either huh…"

V glances over to Eve, unconscious, Just looking at her made V think twice.

V-"..Damnit...Quit being pessimistic…I don't have a choice here... I promised I'd get her to safety…I don't care about me but I'm not letting her die on my watch."

V-"  You're…one persistent…bastard…"

The monster gets closer and closer, its only goal as of now is to devour V.

V-" Didn't think I'd be using this here since it's still a prototype but…guess it's worth a shot-"

In the next frame, the monster opens up its gaping mouth to consume V, Right as is V dugs his fingers right into the wall.

V-"-Subliminal space.."

"Room-"
