The Book

"That day, if our positions were switched… Will things be different? But you know for sure that it's not gonna happen…" Takaya said.

Takaya stands facing his bedroom window waiting for Lania's arrival. The night that he will be facing his own grandfather for the first time in his life. Uncovers the truth behind the unknown reality he's living in.

He feels so much pain since he knows so much yet he still deceives others from the truth that lies behind the lies that the people believed, even though it is not his responsibility to speak the truth. Though that must be many that hides something more than he knows today, he cannot risk his trust to other people than Lania or Ai that are trustworthy enough to know and help him during this mission, never shall they betray him.

Suddenly he hears a voice from his headphones that said,

"I'm on my way, meet in 5 minutes."

The girl's voice signifies that Takaya's big mission has started. He opens his window and steps outside of his room, leaving the room dark without any lights.

Loud sounds engine coming from the dark skies as a sign Lania has just arrived flying her helicopter. Takaya jumps to the roof where the helicopter lands, meeting Lania on top.

"That suit, why don't you transform using your astral armor?" Lania asked.

"I can't." Takaya answered her, "You are also wearing that suit, is the rest of the elite team there?"

"The rest is on the mission with Vanny, She's tasked to destroys chaosits portal in europe."

"Why didn't you come with her?" He asked.

"We have a separate mission to do." Lania replied.

"Alright, Let's go, we don't have much time." They flew with their helicopter.

In another Fukasawa family household, Asahi just got home late after a medical examination that she regularly takes once a week. She entered her house and got a warm greeting from her little sister. Both of them are actually very close and care so much about each other. Despite her status and other situations, she living a very normal family, as a daughter of the academy headmaster doesn't makes her restricted about things that she wants.

Like, watching anime with her sister, having a diner together with her mother, even bathe together.

In the family room,

"Huaaah, what a tiring day…" Asahi sighed and heavily drop herself to the couch.

"Ah my sister became a grandma now." Bellania joked on her.

"What the heck was that? For someone who waking me up in the middle of the night only to go to the toilet in the next room." She throwed back the joke.

"Ehehe, keep it quiet will you…" Belania face gets red, "By the way, how is he? Today is his first day, right?" She asked.

"Ah, yeah! You know what? He is changed so much! He even can stand againts me!" Asahi self praised herself.

"In what exactly?" She asked with a weird face.

"Fighting of course! He even transform himself using his Astral Armor." She talked about her fight this morning with Takaya, "If only Ai didn't come-"

"He transformed?! What did you do to him?" Belania anxiously asked.

"Punch him as strong as I can!" She smiled.

Bellania sighed deeply knowing her sister's behavior. "You surely weird, no wonder you don't have a boyfriend."

"Eh, what are you talking about? I don't interested in love or that kind of stuff." Asahi responded.

"Hahaha, just wondering you and him dating make me want to laughed." Belania teased her.

"There's no way we can do that. Look, even though I'm not blood related to this family, it doesn't mean I can have some relationship like that." She said.

"Even though you want it?" Belania asked.

"Even if I want it, I will consider it if he makes the first move." She smiled and pinched Belania right cheek.

"Haha! You can not lie to me, sis." Bellania teased her more, "But as your sister I'll shall support you no matter what you desire."

"Thank you my tsundere lil sis." Asahi gratitude for her sister kindness.

"Asahi come over here quickly please?? I have something to ask." Her mother voice just called.

"Ah shoot, forgot about my report today, well then I'll be going, see you in bedroom, sis." Asahi rushed to her mother, and her sister waving her hand to her.

On her mother's office,

"Yes mom??" She asked.

"I just got a call from Lania, Takaya is now on the Eastern Base." Bella informed her.

"What?!"

"He visited by his own will. Do you know about it?" Bella asked.

"No, I was taking my examination today, and I didn't see him again after your speech." She replied.

"Lania said he want to see his grandfather for a reason, but suddenly the base is attaked by unknown-"

"I'll be going-"

"Its too late, situation already in control, more importantly the attacker is just one person." Bella said.

"One person?" Asahi shakened.

"Yes, see this."

Asahi sees the picture and…

1 hours ago, Takaya arrived at the XAG eastern base, the place that his grandfather staying all this time. The place is dark, full with abandoned buildings.

"Were here."

Lania informed Takaya that they were there. He fasten his seat belts for Lania's landing the helicopter.

"There's no one here, Lieutenant." Takaya confuesd by the emptiness of the place.

They continued along the way enters the base by underground entrence. Theres a many doors inside, one of them must be the real entrance to the base it self. There's a personnel that bows to Takaya, make him werided by that sudden attitude.

There's many room with scientists inside performing an experiments and data analytics, Takaya unintentionally sees a word "Devil." He continues walk and sees many different place that he don't recognized.

Lania enters the door which is they're heading for, and walk through the door just to see a palace like hall.

"Takaya, unfortunately I can only pass this hall with you, you'll enter this last door alone." Lania apologized.

"Finally.." He whispered.

Lania leaves him alone. Takaya activates his intercom in case he needs Lania's help, and enters the room by opening a big door. Once inside, he cannot believe what he sees. An hall full with statues side by side, curtains that fall, and a middle empty throne.

"I'm expecting you to come, O Prince." An old man's voice from a distance suddenly calls Takaya.

The old man walks and reveals himself from behind the throne.

"Grandfather, I have come." Takaya walked closer to the throne.

"You have grown since we met 5 years ago." He praised Takaya, "Is the power I gave to you useful?"

"That shortens the explanation, I have my request for that matter." Takaya smiled, "I have some questions before that."

"As you wish, go ahead."

Orphenus never bothered people who asked him questions. But he wisely opened himself.

"First, 5 years ago when my parents died, there's two reported levels of explosions in a short time, But anyone's doesn't believe that fact and carry on believing that both of my parents died by the first explosion, what do you know about it? Is it your doing that hides the fact from me and burns the report away so I will never know about this?"

"Second, by forcing me to receive the power of the ancient warrior, what exactly is your goal? And whose power was that I reincarnated to?"

"Lastly, SIN is already on its move to acquire another reincarnated warrior and is it you who commands my sister to be involved in that?"

Orpenus is stunningly surprised by Takaya's questions and keeps his mouth shut for a short time.

"So what is your request after I answered those questions?" Orphenus asked.

"Release my limiter so I can use this power more." Takaya shouted.

Orphenus chuckled.

"Altered Memory, that is what I figured."

"Our memories and reality changed."

"And only The Forgotten who has the power to control over memories and reality."

"But you know about the second explosion that happened by seeing the old report, that means the caster is not skillful enough to cast that power, even for small details."

"Whoever the caster is, its young and selfish enough to believe that had succeeded."

"And we're not the only ones who know this."

"My goal is to reveal why for so many years the ancient civilization's knowledge, also about the warriors' history, suddenly disappeared but left us only the remaining behind."

"For normal people, finding out something that hangs like that without some explanation is weird isn't it? Just like you trying to know better about reality."

"I was certain that today's events and the disappearances of history are connected with the same factor, Altered Memories."

"By forcing you to hold the power, it is making it easier to reveal facts, because the power that you have today is the only key to that fact."

"You are the reincarnated Light that brightened this world from its darkness."

"The one who has very close connections to history itself."

Orphenus grabs a book from his table beside him and walks toward Takaya.

"Unfortunately, Vanny's involvement for SIN is not my idea, she volunteers herself and her team to defeat SIN."

"You may ask her for yourself if you have a chance."

"I'm sure you're having so many questions after hearing my answers, but sadly I don't have much to say anymore."

"This book is all that your mother and I know about ancient civilization history, the ancient warriors themself and their powers, also the other thing's we know so far."

"Hold on to this book and learn it by yourself, and hopefully you'll find your answers there."

He hands over the book to Takaya. Leftover speechless by his grandfather's explanation.

"Then about my limiter?" He asked.

"There's no limiter, the only way to awaken the power is your will."

"The more power you need, the stronger the will you need to achieve that."

"And the more hatred you have, the power will turn against you and take you over and eventually you will go berserk."

"Until you know everything-"

An alarm suddenly turns on, both of them stop their conversations. Takaya suddenly got a call from Lania.

"Takaya! Were under attac-" communication shuts.

"Were under attack, Go now evacuate the base!" Orphenus commanded Takaya to go.

"How about you? I can't just leave you here!" Takaya concerned about Orphenus.

But Orphenus suddenly disappeared in the blink of an eye just like ghosts.

He then ran away from the underground palace trying to contact Lania for picking him up, but the signal got jammed. The scientists have already left their room leaving their research. Takaya managed to get out of the base, but couldn't manage to contact Lania. He sees their helicopter but no sign of Lania.

Suddenly he feels a presence of somewhat powerful yet horrible sensation. He followed the power source that led him to the abandoned city. There is a girl standing in the middle of the street waiting for something, surely it's the attacker herself. She wears a dark red sleeveless jacket with a chest protector, showing ancient wearings. Understanding that she is also an reincarnated ancient warrior, Takaya felt uneasy because of her demonic power.

"It's useless to hide. I sense your power."

"More importantly, the power that I've been looking for."

The girl talks to Takaya. Knowing he can't hide, he shows himself to the girl by walk out from his hiding spot. He pull his pistol out from the holster hanging on his upper leg and aim for her,

"Lady, this is not a place to seeing a sight seeing by the way, you better get outta here quick."

She turns her head to see him properly, her face covered with an 'Oni' mask. Seeing her reminds him of one of her friend at the academy.

"Do I know you?" he said.

"Maybe, or maybe not." She replied him and quickly attack him.

Takaya manages to shoot her as quick as he can but got deflected by her bare hand.

"Shoots a young lady that you don't even know is a sin, I never thought you would be this aggressive." She kicks Takaya very hard and makes him bounce far away.

"Say who? You're the one who suddenly attacks us!" He hold his stomach tries to hold his balance.

"Attack? I'm here to search my-"

"Search-" Lania comes to help him by swinging her sword but the girl manages to hold her swing once again with her bare hand.

"The Descendant Of Demon, as always SIN is very quick." Lania facing her as like she knows the girl.

"SIN?" the girl said.

"You are one of the Ancient Warriors, You should not let them control you!"

"Nevermind about your politics. XAG or SIN it doesn't matter to me, I'm here to see my sister that might be you took it from me!"

"Sister?! We don't have your sister Demon!"

The girl smirks at Lania and tries to cast a ball of magic to strike Lania, but only in a matter of seconds Bright lights shoot both the girl and Lania's eyes. The girl jumps back avoiding the sudden attack. The girl smiled and asks,

"That power, why of all people are you who possess it?"

"Takaya," Lania, surprised to see Takaya actually manage to bring out his power to the level she didn't not see yet, "You made it!"

"Guhh.." Takaya breathed heavily because hurt on his stomach. He drops his knees to the ground holding the hurt.

"Takaya!" Lania try to grab him still to not let him fall,

"Unfortunately it's true you guys are not my target soo I take my leave today," The girl dissolved into the darkness, "Hope we meet again in different circumstances."

"Circumstances? We should talk about- Gah!" Takaya feels numb and loses his consciousness.

"Takaya! Get a hold of yourself-" Lania called for reinforcement and medic after seeing Takaya fainted.

The girl disappeared and cannot be traced.
