Chapter 16: Swooosh

October is here.

And yes you can count on me wearing the wrong clothes and getting frost bites in Autmun.

My hands which are always cold as ice get ice-ier in winter. Not a very pretty picture to look at really. I am ready this time tho...got gloves and all...way back in September.

Today is the one month anniversary of my arrival to country X in Europe.

So much had happend.

First...the luxurious and comfortable prisons called quarantine hotels...where I...being comfortable as hell in my introverted skin enjoyed two weeks of not getting out and not seeing anyone.

It was 12 days of new food three times a day...class in the morning and TV in the afternoon and some basic coding in the night...and an hour of bath tub hot-water-skin _dip-in-foam-ofcourse.

Then there was that one messy week...where I moved in to my uni...A bus took us back to the airport where we landed ...and I helped my pregnant country-mate with a toddler(who went to the quarantine hotel with me) with her luggage and got her in to a taxi...she promised she would keep intouch on whatsapp...but I know she won't. I was new to the country...so perhaps she must have thought I would cling on to her and demand her help.

LOL.

Adults are always on guard...always less willing to help out other people although if anyone is capable, it is them. The bus driver kept an eye on my luggage till I got her in to a taxi and returned to take it.

Then I waited some 20 minutes at the airport for my country and university mate that I told you I had found in the airport. A security guard helped me make a call and we met up and went to money exchange service and I exchanged all the money I had on me to 199 euros. Then we got on a bus to our university.

It was a 5 hours journey through four cities and we talked the first two hours, then separated our seats and I watched the matrix while slightly being scared of the old man who sat next to me breathing so loud.

Then the bus emptied when there was one hour left and we talked the rest of the way.

Then we got a taxi...Meron went to her dorm and I to mine. When I arrived, I waited in the rain till the guards brought my dorm key.

I was met by the two Africans who offered to help and we ran around around apartments trying to find mine for few hours carrying 51kg worth of luggages...then I had a bit of dinner with them. Then there was that cold and sleepless night...where I went to the kitchen and stole someone's mug...(which I later found to be a mug that the former residents left behind...so nahh....I ain't stole nothing)...

Then the next day...there was a session of shopping essentials and going broke ...getting a sim and a blanket and sandwiches which were to be my lunch and dinners for the next two weeks....

Then there were the classes....that awkward first day where I was ...scared of all my classmates...which I just remembered I hadn't introduced to you yet.

So there's 12 of us, 6 boys 6 girls, 4 international, 8 local, 6 from Computer science and 6 from not-Computer Science.

Very well ballanced isn't it? The girls are Leah, the prettiest lady in the class with a husky voice, Aki, the tiny short best programmer of the class, Aza, the motherly-teacherly one, Aurora, the Tomboy, Meeta, who I haven't seen yet, and me. The boys are Jack-the teacher's puppet, Luke-the gentleman, Dave-the Tech whiz, Kai also a tech whiz, Troy the uncle-ish teacher-ish one, and Peter the silent guy.

I've gotten close to Aki, Kai, Luke, and Dave...

and am on okay terms with everyone else except for Peter and Troy....who I haven't talked to much so far.

Jack, who I crushed on in previous chapters, on account of multiple things, had been written off the prince charming list.

LOL.

I'm sooooo bad at descriptions.

I was kinda worried about group projects and all...and got super excited when Jack invited me to join and all...but mehhh....it was ntn.

Group work just flows in smoothly these days...I had stayed up till 2 in the morning for a paper we had to write. That was the first major assignment I had so far.

But no worries. ...loads and loads of them are coming....

I feel like an impostor among my classmates. ..they're good at most things.

But I will run after them till I catch up to them.

I may not be a hero yet- but I am the protagonist of the story.

If this was My hero academia. ...then I'm the quirkless kid in an academy of superheros....hanging on to a power I don't fully understand but living on by the will and mercy of an Allmight.

So you bet that if this is a pursuit of happiness story I shall find my happiness, if it is adventure I will reach the end, if it is a thriller, I will survive and if it is action, I will fight.

BECAUSE I'm the protagonist.
