Gon!

Sye was stopped by the sudden voice and turned around to see who called out to him,

Gon was stood right behind Sye in his usual green outfit with his fishing rod behind on his back.

'Oh my god his hair actually sticks straight up and it's actually got green shades in it, it's actually really cool up close.', This was the first thing Sye thought of and checked when he saw Gon.

"Hello, why are you staring at me like that without saying anything",

"Ah sorry I was abit taken aback, hello my name is Sye and I've lived here for nearly 5 years so I would say I'm not that new.", Sye was brought back to reality with Gon's words.

"5 years!?, how come I've never seen you around here then and how old are you? Oh also my names Gon Freecss."

"That's probably because I don't stay in the town alot except for coming here to the bar for food and sleeping at the Inn and I'm 11 years old nearly 12. So your Mito's nephew.", Sye had to pretend to not know that he was related to Mito or it would be difficult to explain how, so with Gon saying his last name it helped him out.

"I'm 11 too, you know Aunty Mito, how did you two meet?", Gon was excited and just like in the anime and like his Aunt he always asks questions.

"We met when she found me wondering around lost but can we hold off on more of the questions I'm starving.", Sye was famished and Gon just kept asking too many questions.

Embarrassedly Gon accepted and they both walked into the usual bar with it's usual visitors, Mito was still working behind the bar serving drinks and food till she noticed me and Gon walk in together.

"Ah Gon and Sye when did you two meet?", and just like Gon she started with her questions too.

"Hey Mito sorry but can you ask questions after food I'm really hungry.", Sye didn't like to be rude but his stomach came first in this situation.

She reluctantly agreed and brought the food out for both of them and once they finally finished eating she was back to questioning them.

"So like before when did you two meet?"

"We met just outside Aunty, I saw Sye coming here and although he was my age I've never seen him around here before so I thought he was new till I learned he has been he nearly 5 years.", Gon rattled on about how him and Sye met and their conversation outside.

"True only 1 more month until its been 5 years since I found you wondering the market lost.", and Mito was reminiscing until Gon was reminded of something,

"Oh ye it's only 1 more month till the Hunter exams too", Sye wasn't shocked at this statement but he could see how Mito didn't like where he was going with this.

"All I have to do is capture the Master of the Swamp and I can finally go and try to become a hunter", Sye could see how determined he was but he guessed it was normal since he might be able to see his father again in the future.

"I'm going to the Hunter exam as well", Sye saying this shocked both of them but especially Mito.

"What you never said that to me, why did you never tell me?", Mito didn't want to let Gon or Sye go to become Hunters.

"Because I was always deciding on whether doing it, but I decided to", Sye lied but he knew this was a good cover up and an easier way to get closer to Gon.

"Really your going as well then do you want to watch me as i capture the Master of the Swamp and we can go together?", Gon was excited to learn someone his age will be going and they could go together.

"No can do I have more taining but don't you think you should train aswell, you can't only rely on luck", Sye said this but was thinking,

'Well he has plot armour but if he started to train now his future will become easier but I won't teach him nen I'll let him do that with Killua, I'm not a good teacher.'

"I never actually thought about it, I thought I was strong enough as I am", Sye was shocked at how easy going Gon was but mostly about how much plot armour he must have to go through the Hunter exam with little to no actual training.

"Gon you are underestimating all the others taking the exam and the already Hunters, if you don't train you'd never reach the top and fulfill your goal as to why you want to become a Hunter.", Sye said this hoping he could atleast help out Gon abit and he also decided to not let Gon break the contract with his nen in the future and basically crippling himself.

"You are correct Sye I guess in this last month I should train and capture the Master of the Swamp.", Sye was happy to hear Gon speak smart words so he decided to off Gon his help.

"Do you want me to help you catch the Master of the Swamp?",

Gon was caught back a little but still refused Sye's help and was determined to do it alone to prove to his Aunt that he is ready to be a Hunter.

They both left the bar and once they go outside,

"I'll see you in a month's time, I hope your stronger",

"You bet i will be, I'll succeed in capturing the Master of the Swamp and then pass the Hunter exam and find my father".

With that they both split ways.

-1 month later-

During this month Sye continued training but upped his level hoping for the best possible outcome in his training.

He heard news of Gon capturing the Master of the Swamp and was shocked to find out he did it earlier than in the anime but he didn't put too much thought into it.

It's now 1 day before the boat arrives to pick them up and Sye has just returned to his Inn room.

'Ava status please.'

'Thanks Ava, and my strength and nen pool are looking good, more than I expected them to be but still not enough but I still have time, 1 more year till Meruem is born', and with that Sye fell asleep.

Next morning Sye woke up and headed to the Dock, he saw Gon waiting for him there and Sye could tell that he is definitely stronger body wise than he was in the anime.

"Morning Gon, you ready",

"You know it Sye".

They then both boearded the boat, ready to tackle the Hunter exam.
