HUMAN'S CAN'T FLY

17th jan, 2017; 12.53 P.M.

         After getting that bottle of water, Shiv came back inside the interrogation room. Dhruv was staring at the camera when Shiv saw him.

Rathod : Don't worry, it's still OFF!

Dhruv : Can't really believe a cop every time, can I? Either you guys are corrupt or just too clever nowadays! And you are the clever type!

Rathod :  I'll take that as a compliment!...So, shall we continue?

Dhruv : Sure! So, the next in the list is Raj Pandey! And the date is 6th January!

Rathod : So we found his body..

Dhruv(cutting his sentence) :Wait wait wait! Let me be very clear! Please don't stretch it like last time, try to keep it reasonable!

Rathod(chuckles) : I can't assure you that! But as you have 'requested' me! I'll try to keep it short!

Dhruv : Yeah right, REQUESTED you!

Rathod : We found his body at an under construction building, looking at his body it was clear that either he jumped from the top of the building or someone threw him, this time body was in really bad condition so concluding anything became hard!

Dhruv : Hard? I thought you were really good at your work!

Rathod : Did you even see that person after you threw it down?

Dhruv : Not really! I just walked away!

Rathod : That's why you are saying this! His head was literally smashed because it had been hit by a big rock below when he fell! One of his legs was twisted, a bone stuck out of his elbow, I won't get into any more details, it was horrifying! A worker found the body near 5 P.M., he said he came back to site to take his Tiffin; he left behind when he went home a few hours ago. And as earlier, there was no witness and well this time it was because of the place, no one lives around that place, so even if he shouted or the killer beat him no one would have seen or heard anything! And the postmortem came the other day, before that we checked the whole place. We found a few shoe prints but as it was an under construction building, there was possibility of multiple workers wearing shoes, not only workers but anyone who entered the place! So the only lead we had at time was completely useless. It did seem like suicide at first, but I suspected it to be another killing because I found that Raj and Yash were in same school and infact they were friends! But still it was a speculation yet, the postmortem confirmed it! He was also tortured, a bit differently this time, removing nails, pulling out hairs and beating remained the same but this time the killer poked him with 3cm long pins, we found it because three of them were still inside his torso, and his legs were also waxed!

Dhruv : I thought  waxing might be really painful, I mean it was painful, but it really didn't do much! But those pins did some fantastic job! Ohh, I am sorry to interrupt, please continue!

Rathod :  So with everything given, it was concluded that the killer was common! There were patterns that indicated it, like victims were tortured, no fingerprints or any biometric evidence like hair or fingernail, no one saw or heard anything, I mean no eye witness, both killed in ways, that it looks like suicide! And the biggest point, both the victims were friends with each other! And I was not able to conclude much with this one. I just speculated that the victim was heading towards his tuition, which was like just a half kilometer away from the crime scene. The killer took him there, I really don't know how! A change in this incident was that the road he used to get to the crime scene had CCTV cameras and it had the footage of him going towards there, and he went there himself! No one took him there! And well that's it! I don't know anything much and by that I mean I am not 100% right this time!

Dhruv : It's alright! With everything you had, you did quite well! I mean concluding that the killer was common, counts! And I want to ask you something before I give you something.

Rathod : What is it?

Dhruv : Who checked the CCTV footage?

Rathod : It was Vijay who checked it. Why? What happened?

Dhruv : You can say that he is not quite well with his job then! He missed the most important thing!... I messaged Raj! I asked him to meet me there! And if Patil Sir looked at the footage he might have caught Raj looking at his phone, which ultimately could have helped you catch me! I mean, I messaged him via Yash's Facebook account and I deleted them (messages) 5 minutes after he saw it but the IP address I used might have helped. OH FUCK! I forgot, I used a V.P.N. Whatever it maybe, but it surely would have helped today at least!

Rathod(angrily) : THAT FUCKING IDIOT!

Dhruv : So I guess you will still won't get the information you want!

Rathod(exhales) : Then I guess I have to listen to another ones of your stupid stories!

Dhruv : REASONS, to be precise!

Rathod : Whatever it maybe, just start fucking talking!

Dhruv : Yeah! So this was at the start of October to be exact 14th, we were having our first preliminary exams and I was caught doing something I shouldn't have been doing, stealing question papers!

Rathod : That's an interesting start!

14th October, 2016;

         After the incident with that love letter Dhruv went into complete isolation, he would not talk to anyone, eat his lunch alone in class, he completely avoided his friends and he changed his place from first bench to last one at the right corner of the class, and his bench partner was Raj Pandey. Raj was a bit mild with Dhruv unlike Yash, but it never meant that he was any better than others. Dhruv was quiet for a long time so the only thing he required now was a person to talk, and Raj became exactly that! Raj might have been a complete asshole but in the class of 50 he was the only one Dhruv had any communication with! Raj was completely taking advantage of the rank holder sitting near him. And as the exams approached, Raj was completely exploiting him by constantly copying in exams!

         The only person who really gave any shit about this was Riya! She still was as good friend as she used to be, she might have been stupid before but that never meant that she didn't care about it! She was just waiting for a chance to talk to Dhruv and that day she found one! She approached him as he was entering the examination hall,

Riya : Hey D!

Dhruv : Hi Riya!

Riya : Are you angry or something? I mean you haven't talked to me or any of us in the last 2 months!

Dhruv : I thought you were the ones that thought I was a coward and didn't want to talk to me!

Riya : If that's what you think!..... But that doesn't mean you should start hanging out with some asshole!

Dhruv : I am not hanging out with anyone!

Riya : Are you sure? I mean I can see you talking to Raj a lot nowadays, and that really doesn't bother me what bothers me is that I can see you doing things that are not very good for you!

Dhruv : What do you imply? Just say it clearly!

Riya : I see you passing your answer sheets in the examination hall quite often now. Don't be stupid Dhruv!... I know, we as friends have given you a hard time lately and we are sorry for that! But these guys are not worth it D!

Dhruv : It's not that big of an issue! Everyone copies in exams!

Riya : Not you! I have been seeing you from kinder-garden Dumbass! You have never done anything like that, and you are too smart to cheat in an exam!

Dhruv : Don't overreact Riya! I'll be fine!

Riya : It's not about cheating in exam Dhruv, it's about what that boy will make you do!

Dhruv : There's nothing he can make me do!

Riya : People have made you do things earlier Dhruv and you have regretted them!

Dhruv : Can't leave me alone with my life, can you?

Riya : I am sorry to bring that up! Dhruv I am just concerned about..

Dhruv(cutting her sentence) : I don't care what your concerns are! Just… fucking leave!

Dhruv walks away.

Riya : Dhruv.. hey… at least don't walk away like that.. Dhruv! FUCK!

         Every concern Riya had was proven right as a few hours passed! Dhruv continued with his sharing of answers in the exam and as every other exam hall that every existed, teachers were proved incompetent at doing their job of supervision. As the exam concluded Raj came towards Dhruv to talk,

Dhruv : I guess you are here to say "thank you".

Raj : That's a little too far! I won't say any such thing, if it weren't for you, it would have been someone else who would have given his answer sheet.

Dhruv : So what are you here for? To wave me 'goodbye'?

Raj : I might talk to you about shit but I am not your friend cocksucker! I am here because there's something I need from you!

Dhruv : Dude, you can't be serious! I mean haven't I done enough!

Raj : Answer is NO! Let's get to the point! I want you to get me something from the staff room.

Dhruv : HELL NO!.... I am not going to do anything like that, it will be suicide! And what the fuck would you possibly want from staff room! Teacher's lunch box?

Raj : I haven't requested you Dhruv! I am telling you and you are doing it! I just want you to go to the staff room after half an hour. That's the time it will be empty!

Dhruv : Empty?

Raj : There's a meeting in the principal office, every teacher will be there! And I want you to look for one envelope inside Meenakshi mam's purse!

Dhruv : What's in the envelope Raj?

Raj : Don't worry Cocksucker! It's my birth certificate I gave her yesterday morning for some paperwork, turns out it's fake!

Dhruv : That's a lie! How could that be possible! I mean why would you possibly have a fake certificate and why can't you directly take it from her?

Raj : Turns out my father made it for some legal work! And if I go and ask it directly, what am I going to say? What reason will I give her?

Dhruv : But if it goes missing like that there will be thousands of questions and a big confusion!

Raj : There won't be! I have brought the original birth certificate. You just have to bring it to me and I'll change it!

Dhruv : What if they come earlier?

Raj : That's why you have to do it faster!

Dhruv : Why can't you do it then!?

Raj : If I am caught by any chance then I have to explain myself, and if you are caught then as you are 'teacher's favorite' you can say some shit like "I came here for asking a doubt" or anything like that!

Dhruv : I just won't do it!

Raj : As I said I am not requesting you, I am telling you!

         The debate didn't last long, Raj got an upper hand! Dhruv was not really good when it came to resistance, it wasn't his fear of Raj that made him do it, it was fear of being alone again. He was stupid to take Raj's word for it! As he entered the staff room, he somehow found the teacher's bag. He looked everywhere and found that the staff room was actually empty! Not a single person was found there but as he took it and stepped outside the first sight he saw shocked him!
