The 100 : The duty of a leader

(Slow Pace) When he died, Leon wouldn't have imagined that he would have a second chance. A new world, a new life, stripped of memories of the past ,remembering only what he loved and nothing more, armed with nothing other than his guts and body , how will Leon survive in this world torn by nuclear war and ruled by primitive civilizations ? Note : I don't own The 100 or any other characters that may resemble in any kind of way any characters form various shows and games. If I were to say that I own something, that would be my idea of changing a world, but that's what fanfiction is ain't it?

Chapter 118 - Cockroach

Jaha glanced at all of them before resting his eyes on the unconscious boy, who become the prime target for A.L.I.E, the savior of humanity, and the only thing that could keep what was left of humanity alive when the second Praimfaya hits the Earth again.

With a single thought, four guards gathered around Leon and grabbed him by his arms and leg before dragging the boy away. As soon as everyone else saw this, they start shouting and struggling, hoping that they could get free and help their friend.

Where are you taking him?"

"Stop! Leave him alone!"

"Take me in his place, shithead!"

"Please, A.L.I.E takes me in his place! You always wanted me, right? Then why are you not choosing me?"

Shaking his head at the reaction of these teenagers, Jaha nodded at the guards that were behind them and in a single motion, all of the guards hit the hostages in the back with their rifles. Taking one last look at Leon, Clarke muttered to the best of her ability, hoping that her words would at least give some comfort to her friends.

"Guys, he's gonna be okay, he'll find a way out, he always does…"

Unknowably to any of them, A.L.I.E included, I woke up as soon as I heard the first few shouts from my friends, but rather than waking up, I thought why shouldn't I play along and act as if I was out until they drag me away from the crowd of followers, and then I would get away from A.L.I.E. Luckily for me, no one was in the tunnels, most likely since there was no actual reason for people to be down there any more thanks to A.L.I.E and her network. Because of that, I was planning to escape in a few more meters or so when, seemingly out of nowhere, the familiar voice of a friend I thought was dead made me rethink my plan.

"Would you look at that, Leon! How in God's name did you got captured? Nevertheless, I suggest you dodge to the right."

Who would have thought that our professional cockroach would be the one to save me one day? Even more so after what he had to endure thanks to some of our mutual "friends", not that I don't understand his feelings, after all, he was indeed charged without any kind of proof and god knows what Bellamy would have done to him if I were to be away from camp when they caught him.

Just as the guards were about to raise their flashlights on Murphy I send myself to the right, dragging one of the guards with me while the other three were taken out by a few bullets coming from Murphy's direction. The guard that I dragged down tried to get on his feet, only to find himself being unable to move and breathe as I use every bit of strength that I could muster to my arm, pressing myself onto his neck.

Even though they weren't feeling the pain, it was as clear as the sky that he had difficulty breathing, and a minute later, the man stopped moving, dying a slow and probably painless death.

"Fancy meeting you here, Leon, guess you met our friendly A.I?"

"I've never been this happy to see a professional cockroach before. And to answer your question, I did indeed meet A.L.I.E., can't say it was a pleasant thought."

Instead of being angry at me for calling him like that, John put a fake hurt look on his face, mocking me for my rather on-point description of him.

"Thank you, Murphy. While I could have gotten myself free, it's always easier when someone else helps you."

Sadly, this was neither the place nor the time for striking up a conversation between two old friends. Since these four were dead, there was no doubt that A.L.I.E has already informed the guards that were supposed to bring the rest of our friends wherever they wanted to bring us. To my surprise, a few minutes later, Bellamy alongside everyone, well almost everyone since Clarke and Roan were missing, no doubt this was an A.L.I.E guarantee in case something like this happened.

As soon as the rest of my group, regroup with us, from behind the wall where Murphy stood walked Indra and Pike.

"If you are done talking we have to move. More will come, we have to hurry."

I don't think anyone of us would have thought that Pike out of all people will get to live in this place then again for him A.L.I.E was without a doubt his lucky charm since she indirectly saves him from a fate worse than death. For some reason, Pike raised his arms in the air when he looked at Bellamy and Sergey, meaning that something must have happened between them in the past, not that I care that much about the man to bother finding out what happened between them.

"You okay, Leon?"

"I just took a little nap, what's with that look?"

Bellamy rolled his eyes at me, while his sister just glanced at Pike, who until now did talk at all, boiling in anticipation for a chance to kill the man. Seeing this I had to interfere, at least for now, when we need every single gun we can get our hands on.

"Knock it out, Octavia. We have more stressing matters than whatever's between you and Pike."

"Because of him …"

"Octavia, enough! We can deal with this in the future."

"You don't understand! He killed Lincoln!"

"I know that Octavia and whether you like it or not we need him for now. After we get rid of A.L.I.E, I swear I will do everything in my power to help you avenge Lincoln and all of the people Pike killed."

"No, Leon this is not the same. We may be fighting a different enemy, but don't you think for a second that I've forgotten what he's done. All that guilt that my brother has been carrying for everything he has done in the last few weeks? That happened because of him. That's the same man that locked me up and was minutes away from killing me before Kane saved me and Anya dragged me out of the open."

Surprisingly enough, Bellamy was the one who managed to muster the strength to answer his sister's angry reason. "I know you are angry, O, but the only way we get out of here alive is together."

Octavia glared at her brother for a second before looking at her mentor. "He killed Lincoln. Put him on his knees. Shot him in the head. And yet you are with him!"

When she heard Octavia's words, Indra blinked in surprise before looking over at Pike in disbelief. Only fool would continue to argue or calm down Octavia at his since this was nothing short of a losing battle, and in all honesty, whatever we might do would only anger the girl further.

"Bellamy's right, we need every fighter we can get."

Before the younger Blake could protest, Murphy cuts her off, seemly scared of what was going to happen.

"You guys missed the part where it's time to go? Like yesterday?"

Octavia glanced at Murphy ready to gut him if necessary because of his comments. "We're not leaving, cockroach!"

"We just saved your lives. Why do I think I'm gonna regret that?"

"When did you save us? You just helped Leon that's all! We escaped by ourselves when the guards were distracted!"

Not liking where this was going both Sergey and Bellamy looked at me before I nodded at them turning my head toward Murphy.

"We can do this all day long for fuck sake, meanwhile Clarke's in trouble."

"Clarke's always in trouble. So what makes this time special?"

"Jaha and A.L.I.E took her and the Flame to the tower. If I were a gambler I'd put everything on Ontari being there already, too. The good news is that we have everything we need to stop A.L.I.E. is in the same room, just saying."

"If we go up that tower, we won't be able to fight our way out again."

"O, if we stop A.L.I.E, we won't have to fight."

Murphy turns to look at Pike, who nods at him, making the professional survivor sigh in defeat.

"Up the tower, great. You know, after this, everyone else would be in my debt or they can kiss goodbye to their freedom."

When we reach the room just before the human-powered elevator, Bellamy and I peer around the corner spotting two grounders waiting there patiently as if they were expecting us. With only two guards defending that place, I decided to give the signal. As we managed to sneak closer to them, Sergey and Miller fired their guns killing the men before they could even react. Octavia and Indra glanced at us for killing two grounders, however only the younger girl protested, most likely because Indra knew that this was necessary if we wanted to go unnoticed as much as possible.

"We weren't supposed to kill people! That is not how we're doing this."

"They were in our way."
