Since someone broke Itachi's legs and Kisame went to Kirigakure, you two can take their missions for now" Konan said while looking at Kaede, trying to see how she broke Itachi's legs, since she could guarantee that Itachi is an exemplary fighter

he noticed the small amount of chakra on them, probably a way for Konan to know where they were, but he wasn't having it, so he set it on fire and dived on his shadow, Kaede following right after

Simple! the perfect clone is indeed perfect, the said clone actually takes a chunk of his mindscape and isolates it to use it himself

think of the mindscape as a multi core processor, and the clone as a program that took one of those cores to run itself

So, if the clone disperses, all the memories are already part of Rimuru's mind, only locked behind a 'wall', so he cannot get overwhelmed by memories

about 5 dead and 12 or so alive

"Looking good, Kaede" Rimuru said, having long since noticed one Zetsu clone watching them

"Shut it" Kaede flickered besides him, deactivating her susanoo

"So cold~

Let me finish their bunch" Rimuru said

"Fine by me, I will be at the base" Kaede said as she entered her shadow

'Heh, crazy how perfect a clone can be...'

The 5 dead ninjas turned into shadow warriors, and immediately attacked the 12 remaining ninjas

It went like you expected, the 12 got caught by surprise, not everyday you can see someone bring the dead back to life, after all

3 of them died because of that, but the remaining 9 swiftly dealt with the shadows, only to be caugh off guard when they regenerated, being thinned by 4

the 5 remaining ninjas fought the 5 shadows l, 1 on 1, but Rimuru's voice brought their sentence

"Arise" He looked at their despaired faces as the other 7 dead ninjas also turned into shadow warriors

"That is very fun, I can understand the choice of letting his shadows do almost everything..." Rimuru thought back to when he didn't understand Jin woo, and now saw it as normal

by the end of his not-quite-a-flashback, the 5 ninjas were already dead

"Arise" He said, and as soon as the shadows rose to their feets, they merged with the shadows, and Rimuru did the same shortly after

...

A bit after, Zetsu 'grew' out of the ground and looked at the scene

"Efficient but extravagant, that shadow diving ability seems to be why they can move so fast...

But that strange ability to turn the dead into puppets... could be useful or a pain to deal with..." He mused as he returned to the ground

He also noted their interactions, and asides from a familiarity, he didn't get much out of them...

Truly intriguing...
