It's been a week since Rimuru infiltrated the uchiha clan.

Because he is a slime, he doesn't need food or sleep, and that made it easy for him to investigate the clan for a candidate for his plan. He found a kid about Sasuke's age, that was an orphan and was kinda avoided in the clan because she was only half uchiha, Though she wasn't hated, no one really paid attention to the kid either, and with Rimuru's [Illusionist] he made sure no one even noticed the girl.

After he tailed the kid for about 1 week, he swiftly killed her and begun to impersonate her.

At first he thought that killing someone would have a bad effect on his mental state, but he discovered that because he is a monster (slime) he has no problems doing so, A basic instinct of monsters is to kill human after all.

Assuming the identity of Uchiha Kaede (Kaede means maple leaf) Rimuru begun his plans.

6 months later

Acting as a quiet kid is kind of easy, but Rimuru had to change some of the personality of the original Kaede to suit his plan, and as such he took a month to make it believable that Kaede started to mature and stopped being a shy girl, though in his home world that would have been unbelievable, in the ninja world it was surprisingly common.

After that, Rimuru took 5 months to make a image of a kind girl who is friendly with everyone, he even met Itachi and Sasuke more than once, also advancing his plan to befriend the reincarnation of Indra.

At first Rimuru wanted to impersonate Sasuke, but after careful consideration he decided against it, he had different plans to take Indra's chakra and Sasuke is too important to the village, he would be constantly monitored if he impersonated him.

After the fifth month Rimuru also started going to the ninja academy, by showing just enough talent to be placed on the 'advanced' class he also began to make a friendly relationship with everyone there, but his targets were the main cast of Naruto: the clan heirs. Though he didn't approach Naruto as to not act suspicious since everyone avoided him at first.

Unfortunately Kaede didn't have a awaked sharingan as well, so Rimuru still didn't get one.

Back at the present time

Rimuru while walking towards his practice spot on the forest was deep in thoughts

'Skills on this world work differently from the skills in the cardinal world... there every skill has a fixed amount of magicules it uses on it activation, they can be overloaded with magicules but if you try to use less magicules on the skill, it won't work.

But here the skills use chakra instead of magicules, and the skills still follow the rules of the world. The better my chakra control, the lesser the chakra consumption and the stronger the jutsu/skill will be, But with Great sage's ungodly advantages and the chakra manipulation skill my chakra control is nearly perfect and for lower ranked jutsus I almost don't use chakra...

I could use this fact to become a unholy genius of Konoha but that would bring many inconveniences to me, after the massacre I will have to rely on my nearly-perfect image on the eyes of everyone that I know for Hiruzen to let me go, if they try to put me into the root I will have to come up with another plan... I have a plan B but it isn't really the perfect result that I want...'

Arriving at a clearing in the forest, Kaede(I will call Rimuru Kaede every time he is using her appearence) begun her daily practice

Creating around 20 rasengan-like spheres around herself, she begun to move them mid air while carefully controlling their trajectory, while [Great sage] and [chakra manipulation] gave Kaede a unholy chakra control, the more proficient she became in using her chakra, the easier it would be for her to use higher level skills in the future.

All the while she was practicing this, she was also sweeping the area around her with chakra sense to see if there was anyone close.

After exhausting almost all of her chakra Kaede took a pile of book out of her [Predator]'s [stomach] and begun studying fuinjutsu. Those books were for beginners but even then it was hard for her to get them.

(A/N: Before you ask why she didn't use great sage to learn it immediately, its because she doesn't have too many books about it to read and she uses the time she reads to recover her chakra)

'Fuinjutsu is such a heavily guarded thing in konoha, but if you think about it its understandable, Uzushio was besieged by 3 villages because of how fearsome fuinjutsu can be, konoha can't afford such attention on itself...'

The slime body of Kaede was a cheat like ability in the ninja world, not needing to eat, drink water or sleep made training that much easier. And every time she almost exhausted her chakra, her chakra capacity would grow with no bounds as how much her body could handle, her potential could be said as infinite. Though out of caution she never really exhausted her chakra and always kept enough chakra to run away and keep her chakra sense active.

Another advantage of being a slime is that whatever she did, she wouldn't get dirty as her slime body would absorb the dust on her and dissolve it into chakra, though not a very efficient way of recovering chakra.

'Someone is approaching...' Feeling a weak presence approach, Kaede immediately stored her fuinjutsu books and begun to pretend to be struggling to practice the fireball jutsu.

'Sage, who is it?' After months of interacting with her skill [Great sage] Kaede begun to talk to her skill as if it was a human, hoping that this would help developing the ego of the skill in the future

<Affirmative. Identity of the target is Uchiha Sasuke>

'So it is the 'young master of the uchiha clan' huh? I really dislike him, but until the massacre I need to act friendly towards him... I will pretend that I can now barely do the fireball jutsu, he will always look down on everyone but if I show signs of improving he will be a bit more interested in me... Is that a consequence of him training with Itachi his whole life? maybe...'

As soon as Sasuke got into viewing distance from Kaede she begun to make (useless) hand signs and using her [Fire conjuration] and [Fire manipulation] skills, recreated the fireball jutsu, though purposely weaker than the normal jutsu.

'This used almost no chakra, maybe because I lowered its power but still...'

'Hidden' behind a bush, Sasuke was surprised by what he just saw

Though he is prideful as any uchiha is, even with Itachi's help it took him a long time to master the fireball jutsu, but Kaede who he previously saw as a weakling actually mastered it in less than 5 months! One must remember that she didn't have someone of Itachi's skill level helping her.

Deciding to pay a little more attention to the girl he previously only interacted briefly with, he didn't notice Kaede vanishing from her spot.

'This presence must be Itachi. As though I can probably fool him with a help from Sage, I can't bet he won't notice that I barely use chakra in the jutsu, so I must go but the objective of making Sasuke curious about me is complete.
