The Meeting
The week had passed without any major problems. I was just training and reading the news.
Apparently the battle fields is head our direction. The battle fields are separated into the monster invasion and the take over.
The monster invasion is made of monsters and beast of both magical and non magical. While the take over is just a bunch of kingdom's taking over others.
It was simple but if you wanted to go in great detail then it got a bit confusing.
Then I head to the The Royal Court where all important meetings are held. This time I was taking a role in it as I was announced as future King.
It seems that I was late because when I entered everyone was already there. Even though I made sure to be 10 minutes early.
"Yuta, you have finally arrived" my dad said
"Yes, father, and it seems that I am late, apparently?"I said
"Well, we gave you a later time as we wanted you to choose a bride today"my dad said
"A bride, that's annoying"I said annoyed
"It might be but it is your duty as the future ruler"he said
The rest of the nobles had perk up. They all wanted their daughters to marry me as I was the future king.
"When do I have to choose?"I asked
"Well we are having a Ball tonight in the honor of you finding and choosing a bride"my dad said
"Haaa, what a pain"I said
The nobles didn't mind my tone as they had gotten used to it. When I first appeared to the nobles they just saw a good looking kid.
They didn't think of anything special, but then my attitude was that of a lazy person. At first they thought I was going to be a lazy person.
But it was quickly proven wrong. I had defeated the strongest magician and knights in the kingdom with ease.
I was considered a prodigy at magic and swordsmanship. I was also rumored to be very smart.
This made the nobles pay more attention to me and just found out that my tone was lazy but I myself was a prodigy.
Apparently, they never heard the Voice of the World and so they never knew about my skills. I guess that makes sense that only people that I have a connection with heard it.
I just wanted to get this over with.
"Anyways, let's start the meeting"I said
Then I went to sit down next to my mother. She was also kind but wanted me to marry as soon as possible.
They talked about taxes and boring stuff. They also talked about how the chaos was affecting the kingdom.
Apparently, the battles have cause trading difficulties and problems. The price are rising and there are lots of thieves because of the chaos.
Most of it would be solve of the war ended but I doubt that going to happen any time soon.
I just spaced out, as I wasn't that interested.
The meeting went on but soon they called out to me.
"Yuta, what do you think of this?" My dad asked
"Hmm, sorry, what was that I wasn't listening"I said
"Haaa, prince, you have to be more serious" one of the high nobles said
His name was Steve Stone. He was a strong earth type magician.
"Well, what can I say it not like it going to affect me"I said
"Yes, but it will affect the people, Yuta"my dad said
"What was the question before you give me a lecture"I said
"Haaa, should we join the war?"my dad asked
"Of course, shoot, I will even lead the troops if you want"I said
"Of course you would say that"my dad just sighed
"Well it not like sitting around will get us anywhere"I said
"That may be true, but we have always been a peaceful nation"my dad said
"Well if we don't attack, then we are the sitting ducks"I said
The other high nobles just look at each other. They seem to be think about what I said.
It true, I mean our trades with other have been heavily reduced and our nation keeps growing.
At this rate, we are going to have a lack of resources. Then if we run out of the resources, we will most likely be taken over.
There was more parts to it, of course but resource were a part of the main reason.
"Let's have an other meeting at a later date. We need to make our decision next time but for now let's prepare for the Ball"my dad said
"Haaa, do I really have to get married?"I asked
"Of course, look at me! I married and I am a very happy man!"he said proudly
My mother just smiled. I was just thinking of who I would marry.
Should I marry my friend? Or should I marry some some one new?
I mean I had lots of choices, but I was leaning towards marrying my friend. I had know her most of my life and is the daughter of a high noble.
Her name is Hannah Lunar. She is the daughter of the house of Lunar and is one of the strongest nobles in the kingdom.
She is a Fire magician and a strong one at that. Her personality is that of a aggressive women. She has long red hair and a perfect physique.
She wasn't tall but not short. I was maybe a foot and few inches bigger than her.
I know her dad too, and he is one of the more tamed nobles. He isn't a plotter but like to face the problem head on.
I mean, she was part of my childhood a lot since besides her there very few other nobles my age. The other high nobles had children but they are their way younger than me or older than me.
I mean she hanged out with me a lot since I wasn't scared of her and didn't mind her aggressive personality.
We uses to battle each other with magic. I always win as there no way she could beat me. She even decided to learn swordsmanship as I was also a swordsman.
I mean she had free time too, since she was always training. She wasn't the smartest academic wise but she wasn't dumb.
Well, she is just an option. There still others to think about.
