Bad Luck, Again 3

Before Xia Wei could further elaborate and enlightened her daughter, suddenly the carriage cracked and shook. They were thrown sideways by the imbalance.

Xia Wei reflexively hugged her daughter and protected her with her own body. Her shoulder banged against the wood carriage and she sucked in a cold air in pain.

When the clamor stopped, Xia Wei agilely pulled the door open and brought Ouyang Xueqing out. She scanned Ouyang Xueqing, full of concern. "Are you hurt?"

Ouyang Xueqing was slightly shocked. But she quickly regained her senses because this was not the first time it happened. "I'm okay, Mother but your shoulder…" She tiptoed and tried to reach her mother's shoulder height but the woman had straightened and examined their surrounding.

"Mother is fine." She smiled and turned to the coachman. "What happened?"

"I'm sorry Madam, it seemed like the wheels broke."

Xia Wei frowned. "Broke? How?"

"It…the four of them broke simultaneously. It was so weird."

Ouyang Xueqing gulped. Coincidentally, she had a ominous premonition. She tugged her mother's sleeve nervously. "Mother, Qing'er has a bad feeling…"

Of course, Xia Wei had realized it at this point. She grasped her daughter's hand firmly and pulled her closer to her. "Don't worry Qing'er, Mother is here. Prepare your talisman."

Ouyang Xueqing nodded. Her eyes turned unusually sharp, completely unlike her usual playful and coquettish look.

After saying that, he dashed madly, turning into his fully beast form, a yellow leopard with black dotted pattern.

At that moment, the two horses suddenly neighed strikingly, sounded panicked and agitated. They kicked their feet, raised their front hooves and run away, without even caring of the broken carriage still tied to their bodies.

Ouyang Xueqing gawked. She and her mother were left there.

"Come on, Qing'er, we should go somewhere safer than this open land."

Xia Wei carried her daughter and broke into a run.

Before they could find someplace with more people, there seemed to be some kind of commotion behind. The ground were shaking in tremor, even Ouyang Xueqing could heard some kind of large and messy footsteps.

The fuss drew nearer until they could finally hear someone screaming. "Get away! There were deranged beasts on the loose! Get out of the way!"

Ouyang Xueqing's eyes bulged. She felt her mother half-turned into her beast form to accelerate her speed. The wind were slapping her skin, but she kept on maintaining her gaze on the source of the chaos. She found a few beasts were locked in battle ferociously.

Deranged beast? How could they escape?

Deranged beasts were used to state the beasts that had lost control of themselves and turn insane. They had lost their humanity, consciousness and fully turned into an animal that lived solely on instinct, without knowing right or wrong.

But then, most of the deranged beasts had been executed on spot and the minority of them were milder and weaker, jailed in the underground prison and being used as executioner and medicine tester.

Their might were unrivaled. The deranged would have their bodies pushed into an upper limit, making them strong and they couldn't feel pain. They were perfect to be the mainland's hidden army.

But then, how could they escaped? As far as her eyes could reached, Ouyang Xueqing spotted more than ten of them were in brawl with the citizen. They came in all kinds of forms, bears, snakes, bear, and tiger.

"Look out!"

Ouyang Xueqing gasped when four of them turned into their direction and started to chase her and Xia Wei. They roared loudly, the sound reverberating through the sky, the ground shook more as they grew closer and closer. Their speed were swift as they glided the land and arrived in front of them.

Xia Wei put her down and pushed her behind. "Run, Qing'er!"

"But Mother—" Ouyang Xueqing surveyed the four of them nervously. They were so menacing, stamping their feet and circling them as if playing with their prey.

Growl!

A huge and imposing brown tiger roared, showing his row of sharp and blooded fangs.

Xia Wei crouched and turned into her beast form, a huge snow white tiger with ice attributes. She hollered and kicked her daughter away. "RUN!"

Then, she started fighting with four of the deranged beasts surrounding her from all sides.

The howl of the beasts echoed throughout the sky it could be heard within a thousand kilometers away.

The flying Ouyang Xueqing landed swiftly on her feet, giving one last look at her mother, gritted her teeth and run away.

Why, why did she have to live like this?

She truly had had enough!

Ouyang Xueqing ran as fast as her pair of little short legs could bring her. She didn't give any attention to where she was going anymore.

The only thought in her mind was: she had to get reinforcement for her mother.

The image of her mother's bloodied fur as she fought valiantly to protect her were branded on her mind like a hot seal.

Her eyes watered and she fought hard to held them back.

It was not that she hated her life.

Even if she had bad luck, she could accept it albeit hard.

But the most important thing that she loathed that she always got the people around her to get into danger by protecting her. She always had to relied on her grandpa, mother and father, Imperial Father, everyone…

She knew they loved and pampered her. But sometimes, she felt guilty. Guilty for always trying so hard to keep her safe. If only she wasn't here…if only she had a normal life…

Such a wishful thinking!

She slapped herself to regain her focus. Her chest hurt and her breath uneven. She even tumbled a few times and tripping on rocks, but she kept running like a gust of wind.

Unfortunately…

She was still too weak and small. She couldn't even turned into her beast form yet.

In a blink of an eye, the huge brown tiger crouched down in front of her. Its fangs dripping with blood and saliva.

Ouyang Xueqing had been chased all the way here. It must have thought that she was a more interesting prey than her mother who was being besieged by three others.

Ouyang Xueqing halted, her eyes turned ferocious. "Go away!"

Of course, her bellowed were treated like air. The tiger raised her paw so fast and before Ouyang Xueqing could react, she had been slapped ten meters away.

Her body dropped and rolled on the ground. Her dress were ruined with grass and dirt and her hand was pierced by sharp rocks.

She groaned in pain. Even this little slap had stolen her breath away.

Her chest felt so much pain that she had a difficulty regaining her breath.

The smell of blood permeated through the air further agitated the deranged beast. It roared loudly and pounced on her.

This time, Ouyang Xueqing avoided narrowly.

At the same time, she took out one of her life saving talisman and shouted. "Teleport!"

She abruptly disappeared just one inch before the sharp claws had managed to reach her body. The beast were stunned when its prey vanished. Ouyang Xueqing swore when the tiger found her and started chasing her like madman. She really felt like crying. How could she managed to provoke it so much that it insisted on chasing after her?

The teleport talisman was only effective when used every ten minutes and it successfully transported Ouyang Xueqing into the forest hundred meters away. Alas, the hot blooded tiger had still found her in the end.

In the forest, her small build had a slight advantage. She ran agilely in zigzag and crossed the wood without caring for the branches that scraped her cheeks.

Sadly, her blood had been the perfect detector for the deranged beast. No matter how fast she run, it could always catch up to her.

Ouyang Xueqing turned her head back and almost stumbled. The beast was less than fifty meters away! Its bloodshot eyes focused on her as if she had offend its entire family and now he is seeking revenge.

"Stop chasing me, damn it!" She couldn't help but yelled in resentment.

In this kind of dire situation, the only way out she had was to run! Run! Run! How could she, a mere ten years old child, defeat an adult deranged beast?

She wanted to live longer ah!
