The day of the dead

The day has finally arrived. Marcus Zephanie smiled at the thought.

This was the perfect day. After all, this was a day to commemorate the dead. The grand hall was fully packed. One fourth of the human population must have made an effort to be there while the rest stayed in their apartels, waiting for the ceremony to be opened by George Oliver.

Marcus Zephanie sat comfortably in his leather chair watching all of this take place in his secret lair. He was patiently waiting for his turn, a gentle smirk was forming across his lips.

Ah, George Oliver finally began his address.

"Citizens who are here physically at The Mesial and all those who had stayed in their homes, thank you for commemorating this day with us."

Marcus Zephanie's smirk had gone deeper.

"Four years ago, our late leader and founder of this new world had wanted to honor those who had gone before us. Losing a loved one is never easy." There was a pause.
