Becoming doubtless

I was certain that for a brief second, I saw something passed by her stoic expression. It was a look of surprise and something else I had no time to decipher as it was gone immediately. 

I found myself staring at her golden browns, her gaze never leaving mine. I think, if we would somehow be stuck staring at each other for the entire day, I wouldn't even mind. Being in her presence alone was comforting enough. 

Yet, it just occurred to me the scrubs that she was wearing and the few strands of her hair that were out of proportion from the bun she had put the rest of her hair into. It was a clear indication that she just came from work, most probably likely and with that, she has yet to sleep too.
