Practicing

Practicing

The sudden influx of information was very surprising for Akki. He started digesting and analyzing the information. Even the first sentence was very shocking and had hidden implications within. Gods existed! At least at the time when his ancestor was alive. And his ancestor was a super-powerful person. At least powerful enough to defeat a god. This was very inspirational to him. If his ancestor could do it, he could do it too. But soon he remembered that his ancestor lived in an ancient era. And reaching the level of his ancestor might be impossible for him.

His only saving grace was that his body has the space attribute. He didn't know how rare the space attribute was. But after he thought a little, he arrived at the conclusion that the space attribute must be pretty rare since none of his ancestors had it. And usually, the rarer something is, the more powerful it is. Thus his dream of eventually becoming as powerful as his ancestor was not completely out of reach. Although Akki would always put in his 100% effort, knowing that the end result would be so rewarding was also a kind of motivation.

The next thing that Akki was thinking about was the necklace itself. This necklace was bonded to him. He didn't even want to think about the ramifications if word of the necklace got out and powerful people came to obtain it. And even the walls have ears. Thus he swore to himself to never tell anyone about it even if the other person was his closest friend. Although thinking about these points was important, he was very tired and soon drifted into sleep.

The next morning he woke up to find that Ujar was sitting beside his bed. "How are you today, son? Are you feeling okay after a night of rest?" Akki didn't want to make his father too concerned, so he replied "I'm okay Dad. We should go to Jangalpur soon so that Mom doesn't get too worried". "Don't worry about it son. The doctor did a minor operation on your leg. Now you just need rest. I will go make arrangements for the wheelchair and the discharge formalities" Ujar said. 'Wheelchair huh, I guess I am temporarily disabled. But just as well. It will give me time to explore and comprehend the concept of space' Akki thought.

Akki and Ujar soon arrived at their hometown of Jangalpur. He had some difficulties along the way but nothing major since Ujar could resolve them. As soon as he reached home his mother Rhabati hugged him. He could see tears in her eyes. She must have been so worried these few days. And finally seeing him in a wheelchair, she must not have been able to control her grief. Akki could feel the love and concern his parents had shown him. He silently reaffirmed his vow to become stronger. So strong that he could protect everyone dear to him.

As soon as he reached his room, he started thinking about stuff again. The first thing he had to do was to recharge the ring with solar energy. Only after that could he start using its abilities. He couldn't even fathom how strong one had to be to go inside a star to recharge something. For now, all he could do was spend as much time in the sunlight as he could. After a little charge, at least he could get access to the basic functions of the ring.

Akki was well cared for during his stay home. While living at the hostel he would have to care about chores like laundry, dishes, etc. But none of it was a problem here at home. Instead, he used all his time trying to comprehend the concept of space.

He had already known about space from modern science. He had an interest in physics and had also read up on advanced topics like black holes, wormholes, etc. He was very fascinated when he had first learned about wormholes. Wormholes link different points in spacetime making it easier to travel large distances instantly. He dreamed about getting such an overpowered ability.

But before a baby can run, it must learn to walk. He had to start with the basics and slowly move forward. The first concept was coordinates. He had to master this art of marking points in space with numbers. Only then could he concentrate on a specific point in space and open a wormhole there. The method described was easy but practice was required.

Akki started doing this every day. These days, he was recovering and used a wheelchair to move around. He couldn't go to many places by himself as those places had only stairs. He started sympathizing with disabled people who had to face many inconveniences and hardships in life. Thankfully, he had a good support system which helped him in this time of need.

After successfully mastering coordinates, he started learning how to rip apart the void. The name of this technique was voidblade and it was comparatively harder to learn than coordinates. But Akki wasn't daunted by it. He started practicing it rigorously, everywhere and everytime. Fortunately, after a few weeks, he has a small success. He ripped open space the size of a finger. But then he heard a voice that startled him.

"Akki help"
