3 Chapter 3: Archer

Chapter 3: Archer

Right as history class had ended, Mr Nakamura called out for me to stay behind, and he called his daughter as well.

"Kira, I want you to show Augustine around the school, introduce him to some people as well." He said, as he walked off, leaving me and Kira.

After he left, the situation became a little awkward so I just said," I understand if this is weird for you. You don't have to show me around."

As I spoke, she looked up and then quickly said," NO, it's not that. It's just that I didn't want my first friend to be from my fathers help."

"That's understandable, I wouldn't want my dad meddling in my friendships," I told her, thinking of when I was younger.

"Well then nice to meet you Augustine." She said, as she raised her hand.

"Nice to meet you, Kira." I said, as I shook her hand.

She then showed me a smile, as she led me out of the classroom to the locker areas again.

"If you don't mind me asking, why do you have…all those stuff on?" She asked me, as we continued walking.

"Ah, I have eczema." I revealed. I felt a bit sad, for having to lie to the first real person my age that I was having a conversation with in a long time.

As I said that, I could see her have no doubts in her face whatsoever. She just trusted my words, word for word and I could somehow feel that she did not doubt it one bit.

'It's probably my power. It has something to do with me talking and my emotions.' I thought as I continued to walk beside her.

As we reached my locker, and I opened it according to its passcode, Kira just waited for me beside it patiently.

"Wow." I said, as I put the history textbook I got from Mr Nakamura in and took out a notebook for my next class, Mathematics.

"Hmm? What wow?" Kira asked, as I closed the locker door.

"Nothing. I was just thinking about how amazing it is that a pretty girl followed me to my locker." I told her in a teasing voice.

Kira smiled a little, yet instantly became shy at my words as she turned around and then said," Follow me to my locker now."

As I walked behind her, I couldn't help but be surprised at myself. It seems like my past life equally affects my current one. I am probably just going to have problems starting conversations, and I would be fine after that.

An extroverted introvert….I could go with that.

As I walked up to Kira's locker and she opened her locker door, she also spoke up.

"Wow," she said.

I couldn't help but smile a little, as I played along as I said," Hmm? What wow?"

"Nothing, it's just there's so much cobwebs here." She said with a smile, as she closed the locker door and walked away from me, yet tilted her head back a little, expecting me to follow her.

Oh she's good.

Kira then led me to my mathematics classroom, and left since she didn't take A.P. calculus.

Walking in, I didn't see anyone from the main class there, however I was introduced as the new student once again and allowed to sit down.

The class had connecting tables, and seeing a girl without a partner, I walked up to her and sat down beside her. It was not like I had any choice in the matter, it was the only free spot in the class.

"Ugh." She groaned, as I sat there and I couldn't help but become a little self-conscious. I mean, was my existence that disgusting?

This was the entire reason I wore an oversized hoodie, since I wasn't pleased with my body.

"Alright class, today we will be going through turning points of a graph." The said as she began teaching.

As I glanced at the whiteboard and at the assignment, I couldn't help but smile a little. Were they teaching such basics here?

I finished the entire assignment by the end of the class, including one that wasn't taught yet.

As class ended, the girl beside me, which I found out as Yasmine, quickly walked out of the classroom, as I walked up to the teacher to pass her the piece of paper.

"Done already, Augestine?" The teacher asked as I passed her the assignment.

"Yes Mrs. I had learnt most of this already." I told her.

"Ah yes, I have heard of you from Asia. Is it true that their mathematics is way more advanced?" She asked me as she looked through my paper.

"Yes Mrs. This was taught to freshmen there. Some places are even younger." I explained to her.

"Well then I expect perfect grades." She said with a smile and continued," And if you do achieve them, I don't see why I can't put you up a grade. Talented students should not be held back."

I nodded at her with gratitude, learning from my previous mistakes, I decided to not take when I became emotional.

As I walked out of the class, I turned to see Yasmine, with a bunch of her friends, laughing at me as I had walked out.

"Is he the nerd?" I heard one of them say.

'Ahhhh high-school. I did ask for this.' I thought as I moved to the opposite side of the crowd as they threw slight insults at me.

While walking down, I eventually bumped into a figure I was trying to avoid.

Someone that Mike had warned me about.

A Pearson Hardman arranged therapist, who has to travel around every week, to check up on my mental health.

"Hi Augustine, my name is Racheal Elaine Harris. I have been looking for you."

After the therapy session, which had taken up the remainder of my day, I decided to just go and sign up for a boxing gym I had seen near my house.

After that I also signed up for a manga club which was recently started inside of my school. The previous me was practically addicted to it, so I needed to see what all this hype was about.

After reaching home and being greeted by an elated Archer, I decided to order in some Italian to eat.

I was definitely going to order take out for all my meals, and try every different cuisine I could get. I am sick of eating oats and drinking immunity booster shots to stay alive.

Archer, scared that I would leave soon again, followed me around everywhere I went inside of the house.

I sighed looking at this, this cat was also as broken as me.

I picked up the cat from its armpits, which caused it to do a massive stretch, then curl up like a ball.

"Meow." It meowed at me, as it slept in my arms.

After remembering carefully, I realized that the animal clinic run by Deaton, a spot for Scotts pack, shouldn't be busy today. They should only hear about the word Bardo from Kira tomorrow, and talk about it with Deaton tomorrow night.

"Off to the vet it is." And as soon as I said that, Archer immediately woke up from his ever so short nap and started trying to run from my hands.
