All week, Scott had been anxiously waiting for the mandatory history classes to end so he could avoid Professor Ethan. He firmly believed that, as long as he stayed out of the professor's way, he would escape his interrogations unscathed.
Scott's life was perfect at the moment. He was a starting player on the lacrosse team, he had a girlfriend, and he was beginning to socialize more with the popular students at school.
Everything would have been perfect if Derek hadn't come into his life. Although Scott was grateful for Derek's help in controlling his new abilities, Derek's presence was a constant reminder that their history teacher was a hunter.
Even his future father-in-law was a hunter.
It seemed like any moment now, even his science teacher, who happened to be his coach, could turn out to be a hunter too.
Today, needing Derek's help to better understand his abilities, Scott found himself at the Hale mansion, which was still under construction.
But before he could say anything, he heard a vehicle approaching. Out of curiosity, he decided to see who it was, only to discover that it was his history teacher.
"He's going to kill me." Scott quickly sent out distress messages to his friend, who, in theory, was helping Ethan hunt dark entities.
When Stiles learned that his friend was in danger, he quickly jumped into his Jeep and drove as fast as he could to the under-construction Hale mansion.
Several days had passed since the operation to eliminate Slenderman had concluded, and the forest had been reopened to the public.
Crack!
Ethan stepped out of his vehicle, his gaze sweeping over the mansion, before he spotted a bicycle near the entrance. "Is someone else here?"
With a vague idea forming in his mind, Ethan pulled out his gun and walked toward the bushes not far from his position. He could hear labored breathing, as if some kind of beast were trying to hide.
'Is it someone from Derek's pack?' Ethan didn't know, but out of curiosity, he decided to follow the sound of the agitated breathing.
Just as he was about to reach the bush where Scott was hiding, Cora appeared on the other side and asked, "Are you paranoid now?"
"You're as charming as ever. You know I'm not a dog; how could I possibly know who's around me?" Ethan asked, smiling kindly at Cora.
Cora glanced at the bush and said, "You, the idiot in the bush, come out now. My brother is waiting for you."
Only then did Scott emerge with a forced smile. Seeing Ethan, he murmured, "Professor, what a surprise to find you here."
"Those should be my words. What are you doing in that bush?" Ethan asked with an amused expression on his face.
But before Scott could respond, a Jeep arrived at high speed, and Stiles, who had just gotten out, saw Ethan holding a gun while his idiot friend stood in front of him. "Hunter, don't shoot my friend."
Everyone froze. Stiles, unaware of the situation, said, "He might be a werewolf, but he hasn't hurt anyone. I swear."
