Chapter 9

DREW

After I left Camille, I went back to the office to catch up on work.

For some reason, I couldn’t focus tonight, my heart wasn’t in it. Everyone had left just after five and the silence around me was becoming too much for me. Staring at the photos on my gleaming mahogany desk, I became misty-eyed. There was me and my parents on graduation day and another on my twenty-first birthday. I missed them so much and still couldn’t believe they were gone. They left me their millions but I would give it all away just to have them back.

It was a little after ten when I decided to shut down my MacBook and call it a night. Exhaustion had crept in and I was not very productive. I summoned my driver and headed home. My iPhone broke into the silence as it heralded a call from Aaron.

Stepping out of the elevator, I walked over to the floor-to-ceiling windows of the living room before I answered.

“Hey.”

“Hey.”
