CHAPTER SEVEN

ARIEL'S POV

"I understand want to you mean." I said giving him an appreciative look before walking off, I am truly grateful from him saving us that day and for always being by my side ever since.

"I'm back!" I announced opening Aunt Lisa's door, she had given me the spare key way back so that anytime I got injuries from mission I could easily sneak back here and get my wounds cleaned up while she kept Jason busy.

Yes, you guessed right, Aunt Lisa is not just any babysitter, she is also an assassin, well a retired one, and most of all she is the director's wife, compared to her husband she is a little bit sweet and always loved playing Jason probably because they never got to have any kids on their own, due to the nature of their jobs, they were not ready to risk bringing a child into the world only to restrict his or her movements because of the people gunning for their head, it would be unfair to the child who knew nothing about such.

"Finally." Jason exclaimed jumping down from the high sofa he sat down on, I struggled to keep my laughter in check hearing the relief in his voice.

Although Aunt Lisa is great to Jason, Jason did not find this fact quite amusing because maybe all the plays felt childish to him, having a high IQ could really ruin one's chance at fun.

"Donald told me everything, good luck." Aunt Lisa said sighing before continuing, "I know he can be a little difficult at times but please bear with him the people at the top are way stronger than you think, he is worried about you too know." Aunt Lisa added almost immediately.

"I know, thank you for everything though, you both have been of great help to me." I said rubbing Jason's head with a sad subtle look flashing my eyes, it is a bit difficult to part with people I have known and loved as a family for the past five years, they gave me the warmth my own family never did in the 20 years I stayed with them.

"Don't talk like that, just make sure you come back in one piece okay?" Aunt Lisa said giving me an encouraging smile as she escorted us to the door waving is goodbye.

When she left, I took Jason's arm with a frown on my face, "How many times have I told you, no matter what that you shouldn't show Aunt Lisa you are not enjoying her plays, you may end up hurting her feelings, she might be tough but she's still a woman." I scolded even though I knew it would probably be the last time we would be coming over I still had to scold him cause it is wrong to hurt such a loving woman.

"I'm sorry mum." Jason apologized fidgeting his fingers, a behaviour he always had when he was scared of something, an occasion that was rare but it happens.

Seeing it my heart softened towards him, I only had him in my life and he only had me, I could not bare to be mad at him for so wrong.

"I'm not that mad at you okay? Just don't do that In future again." I said picking him up and pecking him on the cheeks, he loved it as a child and it should probably make him happy, like I guessed, his face beamed after that little action.

"Good boy." I commented dropping him to the ground while shaking my head inwardly, yet he was the one that did not want any childish plays.

"Mom, are we going somewhere?" Jason inquired, probably picking up everything from my conversation earlier and does not want to come direct, oh my smart little boy, if I had an handkerchief with me now I would clean up my invisible tears from the corner of my eyes due to how proud I am of my little boy, curse Vincent for giving him only his looks and abandoning mine, though I knew he wasn't to blame but still.

"Yes dear, mummy has been given a promotion in office and now we have to move to country M by next tomorrow." I explained opening the car door for him, I was ready for an outburst for why we were leaving but my precious son gave me a shocker.

"Does this mean I don't have to go to school tomorrow?" He asked beaming, my heart clenched knowing he was still worrying about the child father sports day, if he knew that soon enough, he wasn't going to have a- no I shouldn't think of that now, I should just focus on myself and my son.

"No you won't." I smiled bending down to peck his forehead, a child no matter how smart he or she is, will always be a child at heart no matter what.

When we got home, I made dinner for us both then read some bed time stories to Jason before tucking him in, I knew he was way too mentally developed for that but I did not want that to snatch the joy of raising my child from me.

As I turned to leave, I heard Jason muttering something from his sleep and bent down to hear what he was saying clearly, "Mummy, will I ever see my daddy?" He murmured causing my heart to stop.

I couldn't help it as tears began to flow from my eyes uncontrollably and not wanting to wake the little guy up I went to the bathroom closing the door gently, and slid down the floor crying my heart out while holding the passport the director had given, 'Should I really do this?' I asked myself.

UNKNOWN POV.

A little figure peeped through the open bathroom door and saw Ariel on the floor weeping hard, he stretched out his hands like he wanted to comfort her but in the end withdrew, If his father was someone who made his darling mother cry, then he wanted nothing to do with such a man.
