SHOWING HER AROUND THE HOUSE

SHOWING HER AROUND THE HOUSE

Jack looked around his room, old memories were popping out as a flood in his mind, and bad memories flowed through his head.

Rosa Jack's mom left the kitchen where she was talking to her friends, she came upstairs to Jack's room and told Jack to give Lily a tour around the house. So that they can pass the time before dinner will be ready.

She whispered to Jack, "Show her the poolside, I am sure she will love it." She turned to leave but before she left she gave Jack a naughty wink and closed the door gently.

Jack rolled his eyes at his mother's action.

Lily was eager to see more of Jack's house, "So when are we having the tour?"

Jack stared at her for a while, "how about never?" He propped on the bed and picked up his phone, scrolling through it nonchalantly.

Lily was getting impatient and tapped Jack on his lap, "Stop being a jerk and show me around."

Jack looked at her, showing his irritation, "Why the hell should I show you around? It is not even my house, it's my parent's house. So you can go downstairs and ask my mom to show you around the house."

Lily was disappointed, she tried to mask the hurt from showing on her face, "I don't know what's wrong with you, ever since we came to the room, you have been giving me cold shoulders and I don't understand why."

Jack inhaled sharply, "I don't know what is so special about showing you around the house when you can just go around by yourself but if that will make me the bad guy, let's go to the damn tour." He gritted through his teeth.

Lily narrowed her eyes at Jack, accessing him. Something was going through Jack's head, she knows Jack to be insulting, and playful but not moody. She didn't comment on his statement but instead, she said, "The time you would have used in showing me the house, you are using it to complain," she placed her palm in the crook of his hand, urging him to lead the tour.

He reluctantly agreed.

They both went down the stairs to the living room. The first thing that Lily noticed was the beautiful chandelier, and then the unique collection of artworks on the wall.

Jack was feeling grumpy to guide her around, The living room is equally impressive, spanning the length of the house and featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that offer picturesque views of the ocean. Plush, large sofas are arranged around a lavish coffee table, which sits atop a hand-crafted Persian rug. The walls are decorated with exclusive art pieces, and the atmosphere feels both peaceful and opulent at the same time.

He told her the story behind each artwork. Lily was curious about the modern painting hanging at the center of the living room.

It was a painting of a modern woman, holding a black flower. Her entire face was covered with a pink headgear, leaving only her eyes uncovered, Lily couldn't tell whether she was sad or angry but she could tell that the woman had expressive eyes, "What's the story behind that painting?" Lily asked curiously.
