Taking The Bull By The Horn

Seeing his potential as well, Grandmother Kang didn't hesitate to prepare him as her heir. After the death of his parents, grandmother didn't let anyone else take over as president since Daniel's father should have been the rightful occupant.

Grandmother Kang was a strong woman and continued her readership unopposed till Daniel came of age to take over from where she stopped.

In one word, she decided to make up for the death of his parents by handing the company over to him. At least, if his parents looked from heaven and saw their son living a happy life, they would be less angry with her.

As she expected, Daniel did a good job at it. But then, her son had a little problem, he was a pleasure seeker and had a short temper. As much as he made profits for the company, his reputation was not encouraging.

That was when Grandmother realized she had spoilt Daniel a little too much and there was nothing she could do now. So she spent most of the time in the temple praying and asking for a change of character in her grandson.

At first, it seemed as if her prayer fell on deaf ears and the heavens wasn't opened to her until that accident occurred and Daniel's life changed for good or so she thought.

Daniel became everything she prayed for; he became obedient; considerate and most of all, he no longer chased after women. Daniel became a changed person overnight that she even feared he has been possessed by some spirit or something.

Some of the changes in him were strange like his taste in clothing. The grandson she knew preferred his clothes as expensive and chic as they came. But the current Daniel preferred his clothes much simpler and less expensive. In fact, he would have dressed like a commoner had she not stepped in.

Amid all of these things, Grandmother was happy with the current Daniel and was confident she would change his quirky habits in the months to come. But it was easier said than done.

Compared to before, Daniel had little to no scandals with women, and when asked, his assistant, Young Chul, informed her that none of them were real. President Daniel was as single as the sunlight in the sky.

Of course, that didn't bother Grandma Kang until her grandson Daniel clocked thirty and he has not made any effort to get married. That was when he knew that something was not right. Neither was she getting any younger.

The chairwoman wanted to see her great-grandchildren before she left this world. Moreover, Daniel was an only child and she wanted to make sure her dead son's bloodline continued before she faced them in the afterlife. In one word, Daniel needed to get married as soon as possible.

Sadly, he was not making this any easier, and here they are.

"Daniel," Grandmother called him, "It doesn't matter if you get married or not, I would not judge you. Just give me a great-grandchild!" She demanded.

At once, Ah Hyuk gulped, was this woman telling him to do what he was thinking? He felt repulsed. It was better that he got married, than to have a child outside of marriage.

Although Ah Hyuk didn't like this idea, he still nodded so his grandmother so she could let him be, "Fine, grandmother, I'll give you a great-grandchild. Are you happy now?"

"Of course, Grandmother is happy!" The woman pulled him into a hug while Young Chul carefully took the broom away from her side.

What if the woman changed her mind at the last minute and decided to whack the president? He would have a hard time explaining to the reporters tomorrow why the president has a black eye barely a day after the scandal.

Seeing the happiness on the woman's face made Ah Hyuk feel guilty. He just made a promise he has no intention of keeping.

What if, somehow, he just gives her the child…. No! He can't think of such nonsense. Earthly desires were not for him! He would just have to find another way to appease his grandmother.

Not everyone is meant to get married in this world and he was sadly one of them. He was just unlucky to have transmigrated into the body of an aristocrat. If Daniel was an ordinary man, no one would bother him this much.

"Now, I can leave in peace," Grandmother said, yet her eyes couldn't help but fix on Young Chul who trembled immediately. What did he do now? Why was the woman staring at him that way?

"You would solve this mess tomorrow," It was not only a command but a threat.

Young Chul knew that by the end of tomorrow if even the dust of the scandal was still heard, he would get it from her. Damn it, who said working for company owners was easy.

"You should see me more often from now on, Daniel. Let's plan on how you  intend to give me a great-grandchild. I know many young ladies that are proper enough for that role." Grandmother Kang didn't fail to remind him of his promise and Daniel knew at that moment that he had fallen right into her trap.

"Yes, grandmother," Ah Hyuk replied with a smile when all he wanted to do at that moment was to run away and never be found. Maybe, he should really run away. No, that woman would chase him down to the end of the earth. He would have to think of a smarter plan.

"See you then and good luck as you clear your name tomorrow," Those words were said more to his assistant Young Chul than to Daniel.

Chairwoman Kang finally took her leave.

As soon as the door closed behind her, Young Chul collapsed to the ground as he released the breath he had been holding in all this while. He didn't dare to breathe with that woman in here.

"Gosh, I almost died!" Young Chul exclaimed, rubbing his heart. He could hear his heart clearly, it was pounding so hard that he was scared it would jump out of his chest.

But then, his attention shifted to the president who hadn't reacted since his grandmother left.

"P-president?"

Daniel turned to him.

Young Chul asked him, "Are you really going to…." He trailed off, gesturing with his fingers instead suggestively.

However, Daniel glared at him with so much intensity that he leaned back. This righteous president, so he could glare like this? Young Chul thought .

Meanwhile, Grandmother Kang barely climbed into her car with her secretary when she asked her, "Did you get his schedule as I asked?"

"Yes, chairwoman," The lady said and swiped through her tablet a few times before she handed the schedule over to the woman.

Grandmother Kang went through the appointments her grandson had with his clients, taking important notes of the locations as a plan slowly formed in her head.

"Eh, chairwoman," Her secretary asked hesitantly, "If I may ask, what do you need his schedule for? Are you planning to set him up on another date?"

"Date?" The chairwoman laughed so hard but had a serious expression in the end as she said, "There is no such thing as a date anymore. This time, I'm taking the bull by the horn."

"Huh?"
