9 It Was All Her Fault

Thirty minutes later, Daniel was on his knees with his hands raised in the air while Young Chul was standing beside him unsure with a furious grandmother sitting in front of the both of them, the handle of the broom turned upside down and she used it to rhythmically hit the ground.

Young Chul had a tissue in his nose to stop the bleeding he acquired when the chairwoman's shoe hit him. Although the bleeding had stopped and the blood had dried already, he didn't dare to take it off.

Right now, the president was about to go through a round of interrogation from his grandmother and if he failed, there were chances he would need more tissues.

Kang Daniel was still kneeling and giving his grandmother a pitiful look when the woman suddenly raised the broom and he shrank back, thinking she was about to use it on him. However, grandma Kang only opened her mouth to speak yet nothing came out.

She was still overwhelmed by the news.

The woman was heartbroken and she let the broom fall to the ground out of helplessness.

But after a while, she asked him sternly, "I sent you on a date, what is this I'm hearing?"

Daniel didn't dare to look up, he was feeling guilty. Grandmother Kang may be the original host's grandmother, but she was really nice and treated him well after the accident when other relatives abandoned him.

In return, after he took over the original host's body, it's right that he treated her well too. And that was what he did. Daniel made sure she never lacked anything and made sure he visited her times without a number to show his tender loving care.

But then, he hadn't been doing that lately because she has been pestering him about getting married. Daniel might have gotten adapted to several abnormalities in this world, but getting married? That was a no-no.

In the past, Ah Hyuk dedicated himself to the simple ways of life and getting enlightenment, and achieving nirvana? But now? He would not depart from it. He was not used to the concept of spending the rest of his life with a woman, that lifestyle was not for him.

Moreover, women of this time scared Ah Hyuk. They came on too strong and some of them even took the lead in a relationship. Women back in his time were gentle, humble, obedient, and submissive. That was not the case anymore.

It was a surprise the world hasn't ended yet.

An incident crossed his mind at this moment. One time, Ah Hyuk, who had already gotten used to the original Daniel's responsibility was on his way to the company. The instant he stepped out of the car, a woman came out of nowhere and threw herself on him.

"Oppa! I love you! Let me bear your children! Oppa, I love you! I'm your dearest fan!" She screamed while touching him everywhere and he felt something rise below.

Although the security grabbed the woman and took her away, Ah Hyuk was so traumatized by that incident that he spent three hours meditating. This world was stronger than he thought. He had to reinforce his control and rid himself of all earthly desires.

"P-president…"

Ah Hyuk felt someone touch him on the shoulder and roused him from his thoughts and he looked up to meet his grandmother's stern gaze and was startled. Gosh, that woman was so scary.

"W-what?" He couldn't get the question she asked him just now thanks to the distraction.

"What happened to Song Yan?" She added immediately with a firm tone, "And don't give me stories! Song Yan was an obedient girl and I was hundred percent sure that it would work out between the both of you. What did you do?" Grandmother Kang was sure her grandson did something to the girl that she had called her on phone crying and begging her never to set the both of them up on a date again.

Daniel gulped before answering," I just had a conversation with her and listed my ideal type of a wife," He said innocently.

"You did what?!" Grandmother was dumbfounded. She had been informed of the tricks her son used to chase women away. Who knew he would do that again?

Enraged, Grandma picked up the broom again to hit him but Young Chul was quick enough to stop her.

"Chairwoman Kang, please calm down," He tried to appease her, "The president has a press conference tomorrow to clear all of this misunderstanding. But then, he can't appear with a bruised face else tongues would begin to wanger,"

Young Chul was a responsible assistant and the chairwoman was able to see the truth in his words and calmed down. Slowly.

However she began to hit her chest, crying out loud, "This is all my doing! This is my fault! I was so ashamed of your hedonistic lifestyle in the past that I went to the temples and prayed every day that you would change. Now, my prayers have been answered by the heavens, but this is not what I wanted. I should have been more specific!" The old woman moaned.

While Young Chul was touched by the chairwoman's sorrow, Ah Hyuk was busy thinking. What does his grandmother mean by she prayed every day for a sensible child? Could it be that it was her prayer that drew him here? Was his coming here not by chance? Does it mean the heavens designed him for something greater?

At that moment, grandmother Kang didn't know that she just revived Ah Hyuk's spirit. The heavens were in support of his actions and decisions and he would not fail them. But first of all, he had to pacify chairwoman Kang else she became a hindrance to his plans for the future.

"Grandmother, I'm sorry," Ah Hyuk bowed his head in apology, "From now on, Daniel would be a good child and would not bring sorrow to you," He promised her.

Grandmother was so touched by the gesture that she leaned closer and cupped his face, "My poor child," She said, tracing his features, "You look just like your father with your mother's eyes. How would I face your parents in the afterlife if I don't take care of you?"

Moreover, it was her fault that his parents died. If she hadn't had that argument with him, her son and his wife - whom she refused to accept then - wouldn't have died in that accident.

She had cried day and night, praying for a chance to take back those hurtful words she said to him. Grandmother Kang wished she could reverse time so she could stop that argument and stop them from leaving, that way they wouldn't have died.

But there was no use crying over spilled milk. Young Daniel had been the only one who survived the accident because he had been protected by his mother's body. The woman used her body as a cocoon to shield her child before the collision in which she died on the spot.

Thanks to her poor decision, her grandson grew up without knowing his parents and she was so plunged with guilt that she spoiled Daniel rotten.

But then, Daniel made up for his arrogance and pride with his intelligence and from a young age showed that he was the eligible heir to the company.
