Entry 8: Training [3]

It was early morning, instead of waking up fresh and energetic like how I always do...I was just feeling exhausted and tired today.

I had no motivation to get up from my bed and instead sleep until noon....

But alas! It was not possible. It seems like Tama learned how to climb my bed and he seemed to be waking me up...I was already exhausted from all the training and I wanted to rest but Tama wouldn't have it...ugh so I woke up and looked myself at my mirror

I was a mess....my pajamas were untidy, my orange hair was a mess and my face looked like I had been into 5 fights and lost every single one of them.....okay that's a stretch

If I ever get into fistfights I can probably beat 3 of them....but moving on,

Tama seemed to be circling around me...now I had to be careful or else he might burn me again so I gave him his breakfast, ate my own breakfast and opened my clinic...it's been 3 weeks since Tama started living with me and not a single day has gone boring ever since then. If I am taking care of you...I will do it sincerely and not cutting any corners.

And so I read my notes about dragons again and decided to do a certain thing today

[Baby dragons are generally very energetic and they don't like to be holed up in a particular place for too long, so they like to run in open fields and enjoy themselves for a whole day...]

Yeah Tama has been in this place since he hatched from the egg so I decided that I will take him to Dalkan fields today.

Dalkan fields are just outside of this town...like 3 kilometres away and is a huge plain field.

People tend to come here for sightseeing and picnics but nowadays that practise has been reduced because it's time consuming for them

So it's a perfect place for me because people rarely vist there and no one will find out about Tama and he can go around and get a nice view of outside world too

So today at 12 noon....we will be heading out...but first my clinic work.....

It was 12 noon...said thankyou to my last patient and customer...earned 1000 Gouls today and closed the clinic and got ready to go to Dalkan fields.

I took out my bag which I use when I have to travel long distances....put Tama there and started making my way to the fields

In an hour, we reached the fields and I took Tama out of the bag

When Tama saw the outside world for the first time...he was speechless it seems

He seemed to be just looking at the land and the sky and quickly got out of the bag and started running and zooming around

Look how happy he was....perhaps we should come here every weekends for him to get this energized.

And now for the main plot why we came here today. I checked my notes again to read how can I control Tama's fire breathing problem...

[Baby dragons when learning to breath fire may occur some few problems, first of all, their throats should not be hot anymore and second, let them run around in open space so that they get tired, their body adapts to the heat and the throat cools down....for the final step, let the dragon keep his mouth open until it can breath fire at his own will.]

and that's the end of it...it seems there is not much work to do except for watching and letting him eat at times.

And so I called Tama here to which he responded and came towards me

I let him eat the remaining of the dry fish and then told him he could run around as much as he could until he gets tired....

And so he started running around like crazy around the plains and I prepared my mat and my lunch in the plains

It's not everyday you can say you came here to eat your lunch while training a dragon.

Around every half an hour I kept checking on Tama...measuring his body temperature and his throat

It seemed he was not tired enough because the difference in temperature between his body and his throat was clear as day....and so he kept running until evening

During that time he kept using his fire around the field which burnt the entire section of a land to which I had to use my magic to restore the plains...

Sometimes I think heavens gave me plant magic so that I can restore whatever Tama damages....but I was almost out of magic too.

And so for the last time I checked the temperature...even Tama was tired this time around and I don't think he could go on anymore so this should do the job.

And so I checked the temperature again...if nothing had changed we will come back here next week but to my surprise...there was little to no difference around their temperature this time around....

Aaah it actually worked!!! I praised Tama for his hardwork and let him rest for a few minutes by letting him eat hot chili...

After a few minutes I told Tama to stand a few meters away from me and face the sun....and try to use his flame technique

If my method is correct and if the temperature did equalised then Tama should be able to control the fire at will and so I ordered Tama to use his fire breathing....

But nothing happened....Huh?That was weird?

I let Tama used his technique again but again it didn't worked.....even Tama seemed confused! Did I made an error somewhere?

Was it because I delayed the training for way too long and due to it I was late?

I let Tama used the technique again! but it failed

I don't know what to do anymore...perhaps I made a mistake somewhere....I was feeling quiet sad and disappointed that nothing was happening. I told Tama to stop saying we will try it later again

But Tama wasn't ready to give up! He kept on trying to use it but was of no prevail....

I tried calling him but then I noticed....smoke was coming out of Tama's mouth!!

I was shocked...it meant that the flames are developing and you can use it at will!!

Seeing that, I encouraged Tama to keep going

"Keep going Tama!! You can do it!!" I kept encouraging him and then all of a sudden...

A huge blob of flame came out of his mouth...I was shocked because the colour of the flame was.....blue flame? I never found anything about it in books...

Nevertheless Tama was successful and stood their quietly.

I tried to go towards him and called out to him but suddenly...I felt a huge shock to my stomach and fell down....It was Tama! He was crying and cuddling me!!

Yeah...he was happy too...that our hardwork finally became a success and we managed to learn to control his flames

And then suddenly we tried it again

"Tama!!Use flame technique again!!"....but this time around it was your normal red flames that came out and it was a bit weaker too...

Hmm?That's weird...why was it blue flames earlier? Nevertheless we were successful and we both were tired...and so with healing the part that Tama burnt and wrapping things up...we headed home

It was a long day today and we finally managed to solve one of his problems and he learned how to control flames too....now only thing I wanted to do when I reached home was eat my dinner and go to sleep to see what the next day brings!!!
