Royal Academy Part 3

--The Nydisian Kingdom, Eraregord, Royal Academy--

Courtesy of Lucian, who had gone back to the castle two days, he had Llewellyn organize and go through the participants of the tournament, leaving Katherine in Llewellyn's care until he returned. Katherine, however, was partially glad she didn't have to see or speak with Lucian for some time.

She walked into the private dining hall that was on a higher floor than the main dining hall. The sun shone through the large glass montage and glowed up the entire private room.

Immediately, Katherine noticed the eight people seated across the dining table. Llewellyn mentioned to her that he had made arrangements for her to remain out of sight from the majority of those that schooled here.

Little did Katherine know that most of the people seated in front of her were related to the royal family one way or another.

Katherine tried not to let the number of red eyes in the room frighten her as she took a seat. "I didn't know we were expecting to dine with a human today," Katherine looked up to see a man that very much resembled Lucian.

"Miss Elizabeth Charter," A blonde girl with round red eyes said, smiling at the only human in the room. Charter? As Llewellyn Charter? Katherine thought curiously.

Katherine didn't want to seem rude so she introduced herself, "Katherine Daventin." On cue, several maids had stepped in to serve their breakfast.

"I am Alexander Lodwick and this is my sister, Lady Alice Lodwick," The son of Alpha Lodwick said while gesturing to his sister when he said her name. Alpha Jeremiah Lodwick was one of the few alphas in Nydisia that held more power than the nobles.

The man named Alexander continued to introduce the girl to his right, "This is my mate Lady Nicole Covintre," The girl named Nicole had red vibrant glass-like eyes and that of her mate was deep golden brown.

Katherine wondered if they were a crossbred mating couple seeing as their eye colours were so different indicating they were not of the same species. Katherine looked at the girl and noticed some similarities in her face to someone she had seen before but she couldn't place her finger on it.

At the head of the table was a man that looked exactly like Lucian except he was much younger and his eyes were brighter. "Nicolian Covintre, it's a pleasure to meet you." Katherine smiled as he offered her a sweet pleasantry even after his comment earlier.

"This is Sir Colin Merin and Sir Henry Merin, sons of the Viscount." Lady Elizabeth said politely gesturing to the two males farthest from where she was seated. "I apologize for any inconveniences, my cousin just recently informed me of your visit to the academy."

Katherine mustered up a smile and locked eyes with the Viscount's sons before diverting her attention back to Lady Elizabeth. "Your cousin? The captain?" She asked only to receive a nod from Elizabeth.

Before Lady Elizabeth could continue speaking, the girl who hadn't bothered to introduce herself stood up and left the room with a word.

"Excuse her, Melissa is an acquaintance of ours but she's not too fond of your kind," Lady Alice explained while taking a bite from her breakfast. It was no secret that most supernaturals had a problem with humans.

"I understand," Katherine gulped uncomfortably as the people in the room took a glance at her in silence before turning to light chatter. Katherine couldn't wait to leave the presence of all these high-ranking socialites.
