Royal Academy Part 4

--The Nydisian Kingdom, Eraregord, Royal Academy--

Lady Nicole was quite slim and she was relatively tall, she looked like a well-sculpted model. Everything she did reflected elegance and poise.

Though Lady Nicole and her brother, Lord Nicolian weren't directly related to the King, they were distant cousins and the only set of people from his bloodline still alive.

The two siblings are the descendants of the King's grandmother, therefore they were purebred vampires and not hybrids.

Lady Nicole picked up a red apple from the try of fruits and her long thin perfectly manicured fingers grazed it gently as she took a bite, and not a single drop of apple juice could be seen on her lips.

"How long have you schooled in the academy?" Katherine asked the group of people around her that seemed to be engaged in small talk.

"You've misunderstood, we're only present to receive our official certificate of becoming scholars," Sir Alexander explained. Asides from being rich and having power, being educated was very much valued.

Katherine noticed how they all ate human food as if it was their natural diet. "I thought vampires didn't eat human food," Lady Elizabeth laughed as she shook her head.

"And where did you hear that from? If anything it helps with the cravings, you know to curb the bloodlust," Lady Elizabeth took a liking to the human, she was like that of a little child.

The men stood up as the clock struck noon, they were to assist the captain with the preparation of the tournament. "It was nice dining with you, Miss Katherine," Sir Henry, the youngest son of the Viscount, said.

Lady Nicole stood up as her mate Alexander was about to leave and planted a soft kiss on his lips before he took his exit.

"Ladies, until next time," Lord Nicolian said as he and Sir Colin, the eldest son of the Viscount, were the last to leave the room.

Now it was solely Lady Elizabeth, Alice, Nicole and Katherine left in the room. "What did you study here at the academy?" Katherine asked, wanting to start a conversation between the three ladies.

"I focused my study on Nydisia's history," Lady Elizabeth answered while taking a sip of the drink that had been brought out as per her request. "The only thing interesting in the entire study was the details given about the old era," She added.

"Why is that?" Katherine found it a bit relaxing talking to these ladies now that the men were gone.

"No reason, in particular, it's just most of the readings and documentation of the old era were burned during the war so I found it refreshing studying the details of what led the kingdom to war." Not many people spoke about, let alone knew about, what happened in the old era.

Though the teachings Lady Elizabeth had weren't in extreme detail, it was enough to grant insight as to what had happened in the era.

"What of you, Lady Alice?" Katherine asked the girl with hazel-like eyes, who was most likely a wolf, the same as her brother.

"My father had always been keen on expanding our pack's land so I studied geography to help out whenever I could as the daughter of an alpha," Lady Alice said with a hint of humble pride showing when she referred to her title.

"That's very impressive, your father must be proud," Katherine said politely. At this point, even she was considering becoming a scholar but she doubted a certain hybrid would let her.

Lady Alice studied every one of the lands of each kingdom and its layout. She prided herself in this as her father was impressed with her adding scholar to her title.

Though the private dining hall was on a higher floor, it still granted the ladies a nice view of the academy's grounds. Katherine began to think about Lady Elizabeth's choice of study and became curious.

"Lady Elizabeth?" Katherine called. Upon getting her attention, Katherine continued speaking, "What about the old era did you read?"
