The dragons of wrath and lust

I have spend much time with Nina now and I'm ready to go to another journey. The next dragon lord I decided to visit is the dragon lord Quetzalcoatl. This means that I must go to the continent of Arutos that is racist towards humans in most places. I bought myself a hood to cover my face and a robe to keep most of my appearance subtle. Then of I went to the jungles of Arutos.

The jungles of Arutos covered west side of the continent and after that came a great savanna and desert that span for a while. Luckily I don't need to deal with desert today. Lex sent me to an old city called Qtsiopta. Apparently it was the capital city of the Quetzalcoatl's territory called Teteocan. The city was mostly built by using stone and it looked amazing. I traveled for a while, until the crowd gave way to someone that was coming this way. I didn't want to cause any problems, so I went on the side as well. What I saw was a stand that was carried by eight people. On top of the stand sat a young girl that was well dressed. She was under a veil so I couldn't see very well, but I could tell that she had greenish tail, feathered colorful wings on her bag and horns. When they were gone and everyone got back to what they were doing, I asked the nearest person.

- What was that?

- You don't know our great priestess Tenothtik Lotkutsku?

- No, sorry I'm new here.

- Aah, that explains it. She is a decendant of our lord Quetzalcoatl.

- But she isn't a dragon.

- They can appear humanoid if they choose. Priest Tenothtik is dragonewt so she can't change into her dragon form by herself. As much as I know, she sees the dragon form a bit too inconvinient. Rumor has it that she told that fact to the great Quetzalcoatl himself. The rumor is that even our great lord sometimes wonders around in his humanoid form.

- That is some interesting rumors. By the way, how can you go and talk to the great lord.

- Oh to do that, you must present a decent offering to our great lord and he might just appear to you.

- He can just appear?

- Oh yes. He doesn't spend all his time in this mortal world. Instead he spends most of his time in the gods realm and watches over us from there.

- Then I suppose I need to go hunting.

- Good luck with that. And you didn't hear this from me, but our great lord likes the taste of sea creatures.

- I see. Then swiming I go.

Little did I know, the closes spot where I could catch sea creatures was 100 kilomiters away. Time to ride Rin I guess.

Then I spent couple of days catching fish, but I wonder if normal fish would suffice. The guy said that he likes the taste of sea creatures. Does that include sea dragons? I came to wonder this since I had to take care of one sea dragon. Well how am I going to get this back to the city? With no other options, I called Lex for a ride and he sent me right back to the city.

There I was, dragging a big sea dragon with me with a couple buckets worth of fish. I climed the pyramid like structure and presented the offerings. The girl from earlier was there doing something and I called for her.

- Hey! Where do I put the offerings!

She turned her head slowly and looked at me for a moment with uninterest in her eyes and I started to think "maybe just talking to a priestess of a very angry dragon lord isn't the best idea I had." I then said.

- Oh sorry. I don't know the customs of this land yet, so excuse me for being rude.

She said with a pretty calm voice.

- No need to worry. Guards, would you pleace stop.

I realized that I had some invisible people targeting me with their bows from many places. They put their weapons away and the priest said to me.

- You seem to have quite a haul. Follow me.

I then follow the priestess. We go to a place called maw. There the offerings would be placed and the dragon lord might answer my call. I placed them on the altar and the priest did some sort of ritual. Then she orders the men beside her to drop them in. A thunderous roar can be heard. Then a light comes from the maw and I see a green serpent with many feathered wings on his serpent body. It must be him. He spoke.

- Who was the one who brought me this offerings?

- This man here, oh great feathered serpent.

She points at me.

- Hmmm... You know that you gave me a dragon as a offering right?

- Was it not for your liking?

- While I do awknowledge the feat that is required to defeat one, I'm not like my brother Stoor who feasts on everything he sees.

- I take that as a no then.

- The dragon's soul works as an excellent offering by itself. But still it displeases me greatly that you offered me that. Especially since you are a human. My blood kin, did you know of this fact?

The priestess answers.

- I did, great feathered serpent.

- Yet you still brought him here.

- As you can see, he bears three blessings of other dragon lords. I thought it might be worth to see what he can offer us.

- hmmm... Indeed... Human!

I answer.

- What?

- How do you bear by deceased brother's soul and blessing.

- I used his soul to get into his treasury. There he forced me to resurrect him to some extent.

- You speak a worrying words to me. Perhaps I must stay vigilant to help Stoor when the time comes. He has grown soft over the centuries.

- He went right back to sleep when he gave me his blessing. Even though he knew of Fafnir's return.

- That oaf. He has grown to trust his size more than his wit. I must monitor the heavens if I see Fafnir geting closer to Stoor's location. Now, about why you are here.

- Right. What do I must do?

- There have been a group of people who have forsaken me. If they left it at that, I wouldn't bat an eye. But they dared to desecrate my shrine in their territory. For this they must pay. Take this sword and go to the town of Oltruptar southeast of here. Show their leader this sword and once they are ready, kill all that oposes me with that sword. If any civilians take up arms, kill them too.

I take the sword.

- I presume this is some sort of religious sword.

- It is. Be carefull not to lose it, or you will also face my wrath.

- I'll be carefull with it then.

He disappears and the priestess bows a little and says.

- May the great feathered serpent guide you to victory.

Then I called Rin and we went off. It took couple of days to find it, but I'm finally here. I think. I asked around and they say that this is the place. I go to the place that looks like the place where the leader of this place would stay and I found just the lady. I presented myself.

- My name is Nor and I'm here for one purpose.

I show the leader the sword Quetzalcoatl gave me. She says.

- I see... My name is Itknipet Ulpzyrn and I will accept this punishment.

Then she rose up, took up her sword and started attacking me. I dodged and I attacked back. I let Ron out to handle this, since this is bit too much for me. I killed the leader and the guards also attacked me. It was a tough fight but I killed them without mercy. There were people standing there just watching what just happened. Did they plan this? They seem too calm about what is happening. I went outside and showed the people the sword and some decided to attack me. Some just went inside their houses and pretended that nothing is happening. I killed all who fought against me. They were all formidable. Then a small child threw a rock at me and said.

- This is why we gave up!

The mother leaves the child when she knows what I'm about to do. I slice him up quick. I hear the mother cry in her house. Some people have come out and started taking care of the bodies. This is too strange. Why would they just casually do this? What the child said, did it mean something?

Since no one else seemed to want to die, I let Nor take back control and we went back to Qtsiopta. I go back to where I saw the priestess, but I see no sign of her. I found out that there was a room that I could enter. There was no guards so I didn't pay it any mind. I shouted if anyone is in there, with no answer. Then I heard water splashing and I knew what was going on. Someone was taking a bath. I don't want to risk on becoming a criminal who saw the priestess naked by accident, so I leave the room and wait at the door. I hear the priest singing something, in a good voice I might add. I heard her getting out of the bath and I assumed she would put some clothes on before she would enter the main room. But no. When I looked, she was standing there butt naked. When she noticed me, she gave a loud scream and I knew I screwed up. I got out of there as fast as I could. Luckily I didn't get to proses much what I saw, so my memory draws blank when I think about it. It was a childs body, but I don't want to be accused of anything.

Context, there was no actual door in here. Just a small curtain that didn't block much. You could basically enter the room without problems. But the room was on the upper levels of the pyramid type thing, so I guess that normal person wouldn't come here. But still, no one stoped me from coming to the room. Not a single guard.

I waited now outide for a while, until I heard a voice telling me that I can come in now. She was dressed up in a less formal wear, but she had clothes at least. I then say.

- I'm so sorry for my rudeness!

- We will see what the great feathered serpent has for you as a punishment. But for now I let it go. You are a foreigner to these lands after all.

- Why didn't you answer me when I called for anybody?

- You see, I'm a bit deaf and I can only hear normaly if I use magic to enhance my senses.

- Well that explains it. Where are the guards? Surely they wouldn't leave a child alone like this. Given your heritage and all.

- First, I'm not a child. I'm over 900 years old, you young one.

- What?

- Second, everyone here knows that this is the time of day when I wash myself. So no one is here to disturb my peace. Everyone else has the decency to know not to come here at this hour and the guards are giving me some peace during this time.

- You are 900 years old and you are still a child?

- I'm fully grown adult you know.

- But... you are so tiny.

- Well sorry about my physique.

- And the guard thing. Wouldn't it be some sort of safety issue for someone this important?

- No one dares to lay a hand on me. If they do, they would have to face the wrath of our great lord Quetzalcoatl. And no one would dare to take a peep on the priest of Quetzalcoatl either.

- I'm sorry about that. I didn't do it on purpose.

- Still, you will get the judgment of our great feathered serpent when we go meet him. Come.

She then starts to walk away and I follow her. I see her guards coming too. Tenothtik did her thing and called for her lord. He appeared and we had this conversation.

- So you have done me this favor. You have done well young human. Now return the sword.

I do so.

- Good, you have defeated many formidable warriors with this. You sertainly have what it takes to become my champion. You have my blessing.

I feel a weird sensation on my body.

- Well then, if there isn't anything else.

- I have just one more question.

- What is it?

- Do you know why they desecrated your shrine? It didn't sit well with me with the way they acted. I even used the ability to see their karma and they seemed to have good karma with them.

- It matters not why they did it. But it is true that it was surprise for sure. They were one of the most peaceful ones. Yet they had many good warriors with them. I will look if I will find anything every now and then, but I honestly don't care about it that much.

- Then that will be staying in my mind for a long time.

- Don't let it hinder you. It is put a small step for your greatness. I have great expectations for you.

- Thanks. That's all I wanted to say.

Then priestess Tenothtik says.

- I have one more thing that needs your great judgment.

- Oh, what is it dear child?

- A human saw me, the priestess of your greatness, naked just a moments before. No one is supposed to see the priestess naked. What is your judgment, oh great feathered serpent?

- Hmmm... I understand that it is important for my people that the priestess stays untainted by anything. But how to solve this? ... I suppose the only way is to make a blood covenant.

- You mean...

- Yes. So I have decided.

- That's...

I ask.

- What is a blood covenant?

- It's an equivalent for marriage in your terms. But it doesn't quite match the duties.

- Marriage?! I'm not ready for that!

- Nonesense. It will only hinder you should she wish for kids. That is your only purpuse in this blood covenant.

- Then... What about me not being here most of the time? And I'm a human after all.

- Now that you have my blessing, I can call for you anywhere from the world. And so you will appear.

- But... She clearly doesn't like me.

- That's nonesense. Look at her, she is just embarased.

I take a look at her and she doesn't look embarased at all. She has a calm look on her face as always, but I can feel the annoyance in her eyes.

- Are you okay with this Tenothtik?

- Look, you can't even pronounce it correctly. I have to teach you later to make sure you don't embarrass yourself.

- Are you really going along with this?

- If it's the great feathered serpent's will.

- Give me your honest feelings please.

- I can't do that infront of the great feathered serpent.

- That's...

Quetzalcoatl says.

- Then it's decided. Servants! Bring the seremonial dagger and cups!

One of the guards disappears and returns shortly with a glassy green dagger and the cups. The cups are made from smooth stone and the craftmanship is amazing. Am I really good with this? Wait, what is the other option. Don't tell me that I would have to die otherwise.

- Now draw your blood.

Tenothtik takes the dagger in her left hand and makes a deep cut in her right hand. Then she drains some of her blood to the cup and she heals her wound in moments notice. She then hands me the dagger and I suppose I have to do the same. After I have drained some blood to the cup, I close up the wound and the guard opens their hand to take the dagger from me. I hand it over and the guard leaves.

- Now exhange your cups.

She hand me her cup and I hand mine to her. We take each of our cups and then Quetzalcoatl says.

- Now drink.

I drink it and the taste is as you would expect. The Quetzalcoatl says.

- Congratulations. You now belong to each other. Fulfill your duties as you must. You two have my blessings.

Guards clap.

- Now then. Now that I have done my part, I will return to watch from the heavens. Goodbye.

He leaves and we are left there standing. Then Tenothtik says to me.

- Let's go and talk in my... our home.

We go there and she tells the guards to leave us be. They do so and then we start talking.

- *Sigh* Now that that is over. You! What is your name?!

- My name is Nor.

- Nor what?

- Just Nor.

- *Sigh* You don't even have a last name. This is just great. Now then, let's put up some rules for you to follow. You ready?

- Yes.

- First, don't ever reveal to the public that you are human. Not under any circumstances. If you must show your face, use some fake demon tatoos. Are we clear?

- What about the servants?

- With normal servants, you may live as human. They are sworn to hold secrets of the rulers. But if you are unsure whether or not that servant is sworn to secrecy, cover your face just in case. Are we clear?

- Yes.

- Second, learn to say my full name properly. One of my servants will teach you how to say it. You may adress me publicly as Tenothtik. When we are alone, you may use a shorten version of my name Teno or Tenoth. Are we clear?

- What about the servant. Do they count as public?

- No, with them you can call me Teno or Tenoth. Are we clear?

- Yes.

- Third. If, and only if, I decide to have childen, during the child making progress, you shall, at no point, dominate me in any shape or form. This doesn't apply if I have personally requested you to do so. The Lotkutsku bloodline can't be dominated by any other race. We must be the ones to dominate. Are we clear?

- Yes.

- Good. As for your duties.

- What do I have to do?

- You have to annually hunt a feast for the city. This will happen in two months so be prepared. The great feathered serpent will bring you here when the time comes. Other than that duty, you can go pretty much anywhere you want. So your actions aren't hindered to leave this place.

- I see. Then how do you feel about this?

- It's a pain in my neck to have a human as my man.

- Do you think that humans are lesser beings?

- Don't be mistaken. I see every other race as a lesser race. Other dragonewts are only race that are my equals, other dragons are to be respected and dragon lords are to be worshiped. You didn't have any chance to be treated as equal when you entered this place. Not until we made a blood covenant.

- So you don't think that I'm worth your time.

- In a simpler terms, yes. But I have awknowledged your abilities as a champion of four dragon lords. Those feats aren't taken lightly.

- But I think I got Quetzalcoatl's blessing too easily.

- You seem to have a wrong impression on just how powerfull those people were. They were the people who were supposed to become champions of the great feathered serpent. They were no mere townfolk.

- But I think it was too easy.

- Perhaps you are just that powerfull that you didn't realize. That, or they held back. If it is the latter, then we got an issue on our hands. But since the great feathered serpent didn't say anything, perhaps things are good.

- What would he know of their intentions?

- He witnessed the fight and he saw that they fought admirably enough to get to the afterlife.

- But still, I'm left to wonder why they did it.

- That is no consern of yours.

- Then back to the topic of marriage. Was the other option my death?

- Yes, the other option was your death. But unfortunately great feathered serpent didn't want to lose you, so he picked this option as the best option.

- Are you mad?

- If it is the great feathered serpents will, then I will not opose it.

- You didn't answer the question.

- Oh, I'm fine. I just have to deal with a human as my blood bond. It's not like I would have been happy with joy if you would have been chosen to die by our lord. Oh, there is nothing of the sort.

- So it's that bad.

- Why wouldn't I be happy when a human who peeped at me would be chosen for my blood bond.

- I get it. You can stop now.

- Ah, like I would've felt more free than I do now. Oh that would be silly, don't you think?

- I'm sorry you know. I didn't plan for this to happen.

- Now, back to the topic of your duties.

- What? You said that I don't need to do much else.

- If I so command you, you are expected to humor me.

- What... what do you want?

- Fetch me some fruits. Lilepaba is my favorite.

- Yes, I'm on it.

I go and try to find some fruits. Luckily I found her favorite fruits. I carry them back and she says.

- Great, now feed them to me.

- Seriously?

- Seriously.

I proseed to feed her the fruits after opening some of them properly first. Since I didn't know what kind of fruits they were, it took a couple of tries. When I was done feeding her, she said.

- Great, now I'm in a mood for some drinks. Would you kindly get me one?

- Yes...

I went and found something she could drink and brought it back. Then when I got back she said.

- Good, now tell me an interesting story.

I tell her the stories I have from when I traveled the demon realms. When I was done, shye said.

- Great. Now feel free to leave. Oh, on the second hand, I need you to practice saying my name.

She claps her hands and a guard appeared.

- Teach this man how to say my name properly. When he is done, he is free to leave.

- Yes mam.

We then spend an hour of practicing how to say her name. When I was finally done, I left and I called Lex.

- So how was your trip in Teteocan?

- Apparently I'm now married.

- You saw someone naked didn't you?

- How did you know?

- It is something that happens every now and then there. Women washing themselfs and exposing themselfs are taken very seriously.

- Well it would have helped to know before I got to see the priestess naked.

- That's quite an achievement.

- Thanks.

- Don't worry about it too much. You can pretty much go out with any other woman outside of Teteocan.

- I didn't think they were that lenient.

- Just as long as you don't marry anyone who belongs in the same reliqion, you should be good.

- Should be?

- Just don't bring any of your other wifes in that reqion when the time comes.

- I didn't plan to marry anyone in the first place.

- Who knows. The life can take many turns.

- You start to sound a bit like Aktor.

- Ahem! In any case. The marriage shouldn't hinder you much in any shape or form.

- That's true with the exeption of kids and hunting.

- There were things like that? Whatever, it's been too long since I last visited. Anyways, what is your next objective?

- I plan to go where Tiamat is.

- Then you will go to the volcanic islands of Dia.

- Is that where she lives?

- Usually.

- Then send me there.

- Got it.

Then I'm teleported to an island that was brimming hot. Cooled off lava was seen everywhere and I didn't know where to step. I casted a protection spell just in case my shoes burn up. I walk around and I see dragons flying around the volcano. That must be where I must go.

It was very hot and I was sweating more than I did in the desert. I tried to cool myself with magic, but it only helped a little. I finally found an entrance that I could enter. It was a temple that was built alongside the volcano. I tried to enter it but I was stoped by couple of dragonewts with spears.

- What's your purpose here human?

- I'm here to seek Tiamat's blessing.

- In your dreams. Now leave.

- But I must...

- Leave or else.

I wonder how Tiamat would like me if I beat up her guards? What am I even thinking? I mean, it makes some twisted type of sense, since she is dragon lord of lust and I'm lusting for her blessing to the point where I beat up her guards. It makes sort of sense, but is it worth the risk?

- Leave!

Fuck it. Let's just do this. Let's just put an anchor here first and hope for the best.

- I'm afraid that I wont be leaving.

- Then...

She attacks with her spear in an amazing speed. Luckily I'm much faster than her, so I can dodge it easily. I punched her and she flew against the wall. The other guards got battle ready and they started to attack me. They moved in a much faster way than I expected and their attacks were so strong that even my adaptive ability couldn't block it. My only option was to dodge and couter attack.

They moved in a complicated way so it was hard at first, but I somehow managed to defeat them. They gave me couple of scratches, but other than that I was fine. I didn't kill anyone. I just binded everyone so they can't move.

I entered the temple and walk for a while. I soon find a bridge that stands on top of lava. On the other side of the bridge is a giant platform that has one big red dragon lying there. When I get closer, the dragon wakes up and changes color briefly to dark blue with yellow eyes and starts spewing lightning at me. I dodge and ready for a fight, until the dragon changes back to a red color with red eyes. It started to speak to me.

- Who are you that dares enter my sanctum?

- My name is Nor. I seek audience with dragon lord Tiamat.

- It is I you are talking to. What business do you have with me?

- Could you take a closer look and take a guess?

- Hmmm... Oh, so you are seeking to become a dragon hero. You didn't give me a good impression, so I think we will have a hard time understanding each other.

- Well, I don't think me beating your guards at the entrance isn't going to help.

- Wait, you defeated them?

- I only made them unable to move with binding magic.

- I see. Yet you are still alive. And since you have that Fafnir's blessing, you must be a big deal. Not stoping for your desire to become the dragon hero. I think I'm starting to like you. Now, if you must seek for my blessing, then you only need to touch me.

- It's that simple? Then...

Then she readies her breath and I know I'm in trouble. There is no cover so I just use magic to create a stone wall infront of me. Then the flames start to come and by the gods it is hot. I think the air itself is too hot to breathe. I'm slowly suffocating and the my skin is starting to show signs of burning. I can't stand. I...

The anchor activates and I'm back at the start of the temple. The guards are looking angry at me and I decide to take care of them first and then think.

They were lot easier this time, since I knew how they would attack. Then I start to think. How will I get past this. With speed? No, I barely got the wall built up in time. Persuation? No, I don't think she will be swayed by my words alone. Then the only thing I can do is make my body stand the heat of her fire breath by using adaptation. I might lose my clothes, but I think I can do this. What if I just take my clothes off and put them in my subspace? That would work.

Now then, let's figure out how to get fire resistant. I have a plan, but I need to test something first. I find a pool of lava, I set up an anchor and I jump in the lava. As you would expect, it... is... hot. When I'm about to die, the anchor activates and I'm back up. Then, the test. I put myself back to the lava and see if it slowed down. I die and then I'm back up again. It took little longer for me to completely melt, so that means that it's working. My adaptation stays when I get back in time. That also means that anything that happens to my soul can't be reversed. I need to keep that in mind when I go to abyss. Now then. Time for training!

I die over and over and over again, until eventually I can stand in lava without an issue. Now it's time to go confront Tiamat.

We had a similar chat with minor differences and she says.

- If you can touch me, then I will give you my blessing.

- Wait a moment.

- What?

I take my clothes off and put them into my subspace.

- Now we are okay.

- You are a weird one. Then...

She starts to breathe fire and I can take it like it's nothing. Fuck yeah! Heat can't do nothing to me now bitch! Haaah, I think the constant dying has gotten me a bit more irritated. This new resistance will make sauna a lot less enjoyable experience however. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

While she is breathing fire at me, I just walk towards her and eventually I can touch her.

- How is that?

She stops the breathing fire and asks.

- How did you survive that?

- I have the ability to adapt to any kind damage.

- You mean you trained yourself to the point where you can stand my flames? How did you prepare for this?

- I used a sword of time to get back in time each time I died from lava.

- Hah... Hah hah... HAHAHAHAHAA...

She start laughing for a while. During that time I get back my clothes and I'm ready before she stops laughing.

- HAHAHA... You really... HAHA... Did all that for... HAHAHA... just for my blessing... HAHA... Haaa... Aaah, I haven't laughed this much in a very, very long time.

- So does that mean that I get your blessing?

- Of course. Your drive for your desire to get all of the blessings is admirable. How couldn't I give you my blessing.

She gives her blessing to me as I feel a weird feeling.

- Aaah... next time however, show a bit more respect.

- Will do mam.

- If you were a bit more stronger, I might as well just make you give me your children.

- Sorry, I'm already married. That and Akhekh already will have my children sometime soon.

- So she did that. Huh, now I'm even more intrigued.

- Please don't.

- Oh, perhaps one day. But not now, I'm already expecting children.

- You really pop them out like it's nothing.

- I seek for my children to dominate in numbers after all.

- Well then. If you excuse me.

- Until we will meet again.

I ask Lex to teleport me to his tower and I'm exhausted. I cancel the anchor, so that my magic wont be drained constantly. Lex asks.

- So have you gained Tiamat's blessing?

- As you can see, yes.

- Now then, only two more to go.

- I hope they wont be as troublesome than these two.

- Oh I think the dragon lords of wisdom and heart will have plenty difficult tasks for you.

- I can already dread what I have to do. Don't tell me I have to pass some exam with Lóng.

- That might just be the case.

- Oh no. I'm not that smart that I can answer his questions just like that. I think I need to go and study.

- Just wait a bit and you will see. The path will open up eventually.

- What is that supposed to mean?

- It's something that Lóng would say.

- Well, I will now go to spend some time with Nina. Could you...?

- Yes, I will send you there.

And so I spend couple of days being with Nina, Mary and Low.

I was planing on making people in Qtsiopta sacrifice Nor instead of the things he has gathered and make an entire time travel thing. But in the end it became too complicated for me to make a sensible ending to it, so I scraped it.

I also hope I got some aztec sounding names in this chapter. Or something about native americans. Just to make it clear, I only used wikipedia as my source for the inspiration for the names. I did use one name in this that I saw in wikipedia, but not fully. I'm using old legends of dragons as a inspiration for crying out loud.

I hope that the small bits I aded for comedic purpose made this a bit more entertaining to read. Well, there was a whole scene of Ron killing buch of townfolk, but detail people, details.

And by the way, I can now write Quetzalcoatl without needing to look it up each time.

Damn I wish that I could describe battles that happen in this series. Perhaps if I ever learn how to do it properly, I will revisit the chapters that had a decent potential for battles. For now I will leave the battles up to reader's imagination. Who knows, perhaps it's better this way. But I doubt it.

Just a small fact that I want to add. Tenothtik's bloodline has had some inbreeding in the past. Of what magnitude, I will not tell. Not yet anyways. Or maybe never.
