"I won't be coming to the class for the next few weeks," Alan told Xiao Ning'er.

"Ehh? But why?" Xiao Ning'er was startled to hear that statement.

"I will be leaving the Glory City to explore the Ancient Orchid City Ruins with Chen Linjian's group three days later. I need to prepare for that," Alan then took a short pause before adding with an apologetic look, "Chen Linjian invited me a few days ago and asked me to keep it a secret, so I didn't mention it to you before."

"W-What? I don't blame you for not mentioning it earlier, Shen Yue. You couldn't break his trust," Xiao Ning'er spoke while trying her best to maintain a calm expression.

Alan resisted the urge to roll his eyes as he saw Xiao Ning'er respond calmly. Even without his skill to read her facial expression, the system gave a notification that stated Xiao Ning'er's emotional state.

Alan slowly caressed Xiao Ning'er's hair and closed the gap between them. Before long, the two were kissing.

Their lips parted as the two took a deep breath before kissing again.

They stopped after kissing each other another three times.

After their fifth kiss ended, Xiao Ning'er rested her head on Alan's chest while whispering softly, "I-I love you, Shen Yue."

It took a lot of her resolve to say those words.

"…W-What?" Alan seemed startled to hear that confession.

"Y-Yes. I love you," Xiao Ning'er spoke a bit loudly this time.

Alan internally thought, 'Finally acquired her confession. She shouldn't resist my instructions anymore. However, I can't commit myself to her alone. Need to take care of this situation quickly.'

"…I…I don't know what to say. I like you a lot, but I don't know what love is," Alan responded rather hesitantly.

Alan was naturally lying. He hadn't fallen into love with Xiao Ning'er, but he wanted her to stay attached to him. Thus, he played this game.

And just like he expected, Xiao Ning'er took the bait and spoke, "Don't worry. I am not asking for an answer for you. I am just telling you that I love you, and my feelings for you won't ever change! I will definitely make you fall in love with me!"

Alan smirked at those words and spoke, "I look forward to that!"

A special guest instructor from Ye Family was called by the Holy Orchid Institute for the Fighter Class. Her name was Xue Yin.

However, no one knew that Ye Ziyun personally studied under Xue Yin and was very interested in Inscription Patterns. She understood the theory quickly and could be considered talented in this subject.

Nie Li knew all this information and smirked. After studying for millions of years within the Temporal Demon Spirit Book's space, he had comprehended many inscription patterns. His knowledge was naturally at a much higher level when compared to Ye Ziyun.

Alan noticed Nie Li making contact with Ye Ziyun and showing off his prowess in Inscription Patterns.

Ye Ziyun didn't seem impressed and asked him a couple of questions. Nie Li answered those questions with ease and seemed to have convinced Ye Ziyun that he was the real deal!

After she was convinced of Nie Li's knowledge, Ye Ziyun began to ask him questions that truly puzzled her. Nie Li answered those questions with ease again, further impressing Ye Ziyun.

Their discussion continued for nearly half an hour before Nie Li handed Ye Ziyun a complete inscription pattern.

Nie Li suddenly brought out an unused Soul Crystal and checked Ye Ziyun's Soul Attribute and Soul Form.

'So, that's how you check the Soul Attribute and Soul Form. I didn't have to struggle with that because of the system.'

Alan was very cautious not to let Nie Li or Ye Ziyun know he was eavesdropping on their chat. In fact, he was cautious enough not to alert either of them to his presence here.
