Chapter 18

Emily's Pov

I turned around to see what made that noise and it was a giant beast, I don't know what else to describe it as, I wanted to run but the beast was already close to me, I decided to fight it. I began casting a spell, I casted a freezing spell on the ground to make the beast slip then I casted a fireball spell and it launched at the beast. The freezing spell worked perfectly but the fireball spell didn't damage the beast.

I used vines to try and hold the beast but it was still coming towards me, I cast a speed spell on myself and ran giving the beast some distance. I decided to think practically and end this. This beast was the same as an elephant except with fur, their body weights should be the same and that was when an idea for a trap came into my mind.

I used an earth spell and created huge sturdy walls in front of the beast in order to delay the beast and block it's view, then I casted fire ball spells repeatedly and launched them at a spot on the ground.

Once the ground was deep enough, I cast a quick sand spell and used an illusion spell to make the quick sand look like the rest of the ground. I stood directly in front of the trap exhausted, I had casted a lot of spells in a row and my mana was very low now.

The beast broke through the wall and was running after me. I ran away just to be safe but the beast fell into my trap. I stopped running and watched the beast struggle in vain. I was very pleased with my plan but now I had to find a way to get out of here, wherever it was.

I sat down and meditated in other to recharge my mana but to my surprise, my mana was already filled up, it was as though I never even casted a spell in the beginning. I was shocked to discover this but I didn't want to stay here, I had to leave this strange place quickly.

On a second thought, if I could find a way to come in here and leave at my will, wouldn't that mean I would be able to train and progress easily here?, I could feel the mana density of this place was high, really high and if I meditated here, I might be able to breakthrough to a 4th rank mage.

But first, I need to leave this place. I looked around me and all I could see was land everywhere and the blue sky, how did I end up here in the first place?, I tried to think of what brought me here and then I remembered.

This was due to me sleeping off when casting a dream spell, it seems I was more exhausted than I knew, and I also risked destroying my mana pool completely when forcing the breakthrough.

Wait

If this is a dream spell gone wrong, doesn't this mean that I'm currently asleep?, That seems to be the most logical conclusion but then a spell incompleted changes the whole structure of the spell making it an entirely new or different spell.

This could be a lucid dream spell or it could be an attal projection spell, heck it could even be a teleportation spell.

I saw at down and breathed deeply in and out, I needed to be rational. I checked my pocket to know if I would see my phone and unluckily of me, I wasn't with it.

I kept going through my mind, thinking of any spell I could cast to get me out of this place, mana obviously wouldn't be a problem since this place was abundantly rich in mana.

I thought for a while before an idea of what to do came to me. In order to know if I was in the real world, I could try teleporting to my room. I stood up, casted the teleporting spell and.... Nothing, I was still here which means this was definitely a dream.... Or a different dimension but that's impossible to me now, I'm not yet powerful enough to do that, the minimum ranked mage required for me to be able to even attempt that is 9th rank mage.

With beading able to teleport ruled out, I now knew that I was stuck in a dream. Well I knew quite a few spells to try but the problem is I don't really know if it will work. There's no harm in trying right?

1 hour later

I rested my exhausted body on the ground, thankful that there wasn't any sun here, which was strange because the whole place was lit up.

It's been an hour of me casting spell after spell and yet none worked, I was still trapped in this goddamned place. Spell after spell either did nothing or gave me a minor backlash. I didn't know what to do anymore, I've casted every spell I know.

Just when I wanted to rest, I heard the ground vibrating, 'what's going on?, Is there an earthquake going on?', I was confused and die t know what to do. I casted a flight spell and flew into the air only to see...
