Prologue

The air was filled with the stench of blood and the sounds of battle continued to penetrate into the small hut where I hid. Mother had been still for a while and I sat still as well for fear of disturbing her rest. She opened up her eyes and called out to me faintly

"Chen'er, mother is on her way to father."

Tears began to fall from my eyes as I realized what she meant. Mother only smiled lightly and raised her hand to my cheek

"You must remain strong, my light, our hope"

Mother began to emit a golden light and in her hand appeared a device that resembled a sun dial . I moved my hand over hers to collect the device but it changed into a blade and was stabbed into my heart. I watched mother give a sad smile through her tears before she gave out her last breath. I followed her not long after

[Level Up... ]

I woke up to a familiar stench of blood and the strange words floating in front of my eyes. I attempted to get up but felt a disgusting squish under me. I noticed I was standing on the corpse of some sort of monster. The words in front of me suddenly began to change and the new information made less sense

[User: Noah]

[Race: Human ?]

[Level: ???]

[State: Confused?]

After a moment it felt as though my mind had become clear and then I realized, I had finally awakened.
