03 - Status...

'For fuck sake. Well, one thing is sure, I ain't the main character of this story.'

He continued to analyze his status with pure disappointment in his eyes.

'Still, almost all my stats potential are Common, and I got zero points in Magic Power? How is that possible?'

He knew he was in a bad spot with those stats, considering that the Tutorial had already started. Many around him had already figured out how to get their weapons, but he was still stuck analyzing his stats. He knew that he needed to go faster. He really needed to stop wasting time.

'The weapon, how do I get it?'

Lucian looked quickly and found a button at the bottom of the status page. There were three buttons at the bottom of it: [Special Skill], [Overall Rating], and [Equipment]. Lucian looked at the three options and quickly tapped on [Equipment] since he couldn't remain defenseless for long. People were slowly starting to get attacked by the zombies everywhere around him.

Because of the incoming zombie attack, Lucian understood that he needed to act much faster than he was currently. Zombies were approaching from his left and his right. He knew that he would sooner or later have to help the others to fight.

A small dagger appeared in Lucian's hand after tapping on the [Equipment] button. However, it looked like it was in terrible condition. He would probably have to change it later on.

—-----------

[You have equipped a piece of equipment.]

[Garbage Dagger]

[Common Rank]

[Description: Any Dagger would be better than this.]

—-----------

"A dagger, really? I thought I would have gotten a sword or a spear… Well, whatever, a dagger is still cool, right?"

Lucian became a little more relaxed with his dagger in his hands since he had something to defend himself. Still, he wasn't done. Two other buttons were teasing him, waiting to be tapped on. He couldn't wait any longer and tapped the [Special Skill] button. He knew that not everyone would get one, but he hoped he would be one of the lucky ones.

'At least, give me a decent one. I deserve that, considering those shitty stats.'

—-----------

[You have obtained a Special Skill.]

[Special Skill Name: Insight]

[Heroic Rank]

[Description: You can inspect the Status Windows and hidden talents of others.]

—-----------

'Heroic Rank? My luck… you came back!'

Lucian didn't waste any more time and swiftly read the skill description. He had to admit that it wasn't that great of a skill for fighting others, but for all other aspects… it was probably one of the best skills he could have gotten.

'Actually, I wonder what stats Trevor got.'

Deep down inside his heart, Lucian truly hoped they would be much worse than his. He would feel great satisfaction from doing so. Being superior to him one single time would feel like the best.

He focused a little on Trevor, and his Status Window opened quickly.

'Tsk, mine are worse. Still, he didn't get any special skills, so maybe I'm better than him…'

Lucian was desperately trying to think of a way that he was superior to Trevor, but it didn't seem like it would happen any time soon.

However, he kept his calm, looking at someone else on his right. However, the same thing happened once again. The stats of that person were much better than him.

He did the same thing repeatedly in quick succession, but the result was always the same. He was weaker than all of them.

He had not only gotten bad stats, he had obtained the worst of them all.

'If it continues like this, I'll still be someone else's slave.'

Just having this thought was making Lucian angry. He didn't know how he would do it yet, but he wouldn't let something like this happen to him again. No chance.

'Let's hope that the last button can help me.'

Then, Lucian pressed the [Overall Rating] button, hoping for the best.

—-----------

[Overall Rating of Player Lucian Urias]

[The talents of Lucian Urias are at rock bottom. They are the worst possible. It doesn't matter how much he tries to train and get stronger. He will always be weaker than others, obligated to take on the role of cannon fodder. However, he's Creative and Lucky… whatever that means.]

—-----------

Certain words seemed to affect Lucian deeply. The one that hurt him the most was cannon fodder.

'Cannon fodder? No talent?'

Lucian stayed immobile. He was not saying the slightest word, contemplating his situation.

'Being creative and lucky doesn't mean much?'

Lucian started getting very angry as he continued to read this description over and over again.

'It looks like they're begging me to prove them wrong, huh?'

For some reason, a flame that had been hidden far, very far, inside Lucian's body was ignited.

'Keep looking down on me, you fucking system. I'll prove you wrong. I'll show you just how dangerous a cannon fodder can be?'

Lucian understood his role very well now. He would have to survive, using all possible means.

'I'll fucking use everyone I can, I don't care.'

He had no talent, no strength; all he had was his Heroic Skill. It was the only thing that truly mattered, and he would make sure to use it to its full extent and the best way to do that was by looking around himself, trying to find someone with crazy good stats.

He analyzed his surroundings and saw Trevor. However, Lucian knew that he wasn't an option to begin with, considering his Status and their past. He looked for others in a similar state, and there were many. However, Lucian couldn't just take anyone. He needed to find a person with potential. And luckily for him, his skill would make it extremely simple.

A few moments later, Lucian found his target as he kept looking at everyone who seemed desperate enough. There she was. Almost waiting for Lucian to go up to her and save her.

It was a girl with long black hair put up into two ponytails and red eyes. She was extremely beautiful. Her skin was as clear as porcelain. Based on the position that she was in, she seemed short. However, there was no real way of telling since she was hugging her knees so tightly, balling her eyes out.

However, Lucian had barely paid attention to such details. He had only looked at her Status, and only one word came to his mind. Incredible.

'Looks like I found my first teammate, huh?'

Maybe I didn't make it clear, but the rank beside every stat is the potential growth they can have. For example, most of Lucian's stats and talents are common, making it extremely difficult for him to get stronger.
