May I Call (2)

"May I call? Is it a good time to speak to you, Father?"

Maryono's hand shook too badly that he dropped the phone.

Is it real? Is it Rasita Angga who will call him? Is it going to be his voice that say 'Hi, Father,' instead of a prank caller's idiot voice?

Is it going to be his son, his flesh and blood, who speaks from a distance, and not the New Police who rigs the call so as to arrest Maryono for whatever reason?

It wasn't good at all for an elderly in his age to think up about this too much. His blood pressure spiked up and his heart rate rose. Luckily, years ago before the Drop hit, his GP declared that he was still fit without any degenerative diseases in sight. And even after the pandemic, when the said GP had become another number in the statistics, he had to keep up with his health maintenance even more. Otherwise, if Maryono fell ill because of his carelessness, nobody would take care of him.
