A River A Thousand Paces Wide Is Not Enough

Mark and Stephanie went to bed afterwards. She spread on the bed while he took up the littlest space although the mattress was king-sized.

Almost half an hour later, she noticed her mistake of not caring for him enough, so she rolled over until her arm could slip between Mark's arm and torso.

She inhaled his fresh scent that remained after a shower before dinner. It would probably be the scent she would inhale for the rest of her life, sleeping peacefully in each other's embrace every night, be it rain or dry.

Soon, the beauty of the unknown called the dreamscape allured her, like a log of driftwood, she let her consciousness be carried away from the shore.

Until around 2 am.
