MARTIAL ARTS SYSTEM CHAPTER 1

Highschool. A place where kids can be free from their suffocating homes with no parent or adult

watching their every move, hang out with their friends, skip classes and socialize. Many students

form gangs and get into violent activities; They'll pick on the weak, harass elders, get into gang

violence with other groups, and disrupt their teachers. This is the reality of high school.

In a distant alley, far from the high school. A 5 men group of bullies are picking on a tired, short,

skinny, and daring boy, Yun Qhu. He was the definition of brave but foolish; He would save

others who can't protect themselves and help those who need it, but when it comes to returning a

helping hand, everyone looks away in the presence of high school thugs. Faculties and students

cannot interfere in gang affairs, no matter the circumstances, or how dire. The gang leader, Subin

Yaang, is smoking cigarettes, facing the other direction playing video games on his phone while

his henchmen exchange blows with Yun Qhu. Yun Qhu did his best to stand up to this gang and

knocked one of them out cold, but that only encouraged the others to fight harder and cripple

Yun Qhu. Subin Yaang put his cigarette out, placed his phone on the table and walked toward

Yun Qhu. Looking at how his minions are nearly exhausted from the constant exchanges of

blows and decides to finish Yun Qhu once and for all. Subin clenched his fist and rushed towards

Yun Qhu, extending his arm outwards and throwing it directly toward Yun Qhu's face, picturing

him as a punching bag, sending Yun Qhu flying 3 meters in the air and 5 meters away. That final

blow from Subin Yaang completely knocked Yun Qhu out cold, leaving the scene, laughing and

smoking cigarettes with his henchmen, never looking back at Yun Qhu lying on the ground

passed out.

It's nighttime, and Yun Qhu is regaining consciousness, remembering how he lost the battle

against those bullies, and his mental state went into depression. He started screaming, crying and

regretting that he wasn't strong enough to defeat them. Suddenly, his phone starts ringing.

Multiple missed calls and messages from his mother and friends. He answers his mother's call,

"Hello?" She's relieved to hear her son's voice. His friends are at his house with his mother in

awe with a worried heart; Where was he? Who was he with? Why he didn't answer any of their

calls or responded to any of their messages? Yun Qhu told them with a fake smile and laughing,

hiding that he was in pain, "Don't worry about I'm strong enough to defend myself. I'll be home

soon, bye!" Ending the call with his smile turning into a frown. Walking a few minutes into the

neighbourhood and looking at the sky, he saw a shooting star and reminisces a line from an old

story his mom used to read to him as a kid, "If you wish upon a shooting star, all your dreams

and wishes will come true." "Really?!" Young Yun Qhu asked excitedly. "Really." Yun Qhu's

younger mother told him. (End of flashback)

Present, Yun Qhu looks back at the sky and makes his wish, "I wish to become the strongest, so I

can help others." Yun Qhu smiles at the idea that it's just a story and continues walking home. He

arrives at the front door and unlocks the door, "I'm home." He says with relief. Everyone rushes

towards him and interrogates him, "Where were you? What happened to your face? Who did this

to you? Are you ok?" Their questions make Yun Qhu feels uneasy, and he rushes upstairs to hisroom to unwind. His friends Mia Yhuang and Alex Jeong say their farewells to Yun Qhu and his

mother before leaving their house. Yun Qhu's mother walks upstairs to his bedroom, and knocks

on the door, "Yun, are you hungry? I made your favourite Red beans and rice with steak just the

way you like it; I will leave it at your door. When you've finished leave your plate outside, ok?"

Yun Qhu was in no state to say thank you to his mother or goodbye to his friends. His depression

and sorrow were holding him back the entire night. Yun ate his dinner and left the dirty plate and

spoon outside his door; his mother was happy that he ate but also saddened by the fact that her

son was in pain and won't talk to her about it. Yun went to sleep after eating. He started having

nightmares from the fight a couple of hours ago; he was trapped in his imaginary "mind fight"

and this time the thugs transformed into monsters. He wakes up from his nightmare with sweat

dripping down his neck and a bolt of lightning startling him as he's trying to calm down.

Suddenly his phone rang, which scared him more. He reaches for his phone and sees a

mysterious notification, "Yun Qhu, Age: 16." Yun Qhu was confused about what app

he downloaded. Yun Qhu didn't have time to check out the app. Yun turned off his phone and

went back to sleep. During the night, the phone turns on while Yun Qhu has his back facing the

phone is asleep, and sends an alert writing, "Yun Qhu, Age:16.
