Hmmm... Tang Ling could finally remember where he put his horse. Well, he had forgotten about it when he talked to the helper. It was quite embarrassing for him to just forget about his companion and the abandoned one was so loyal that it follow him even after he forgot. Thankfully, Tang Ling had made it sure to put some treats on the bag, and grasses were aplenty in this world.
The destination was an old well-maintained building, unlike the previous hall which was more exquisite with artificial landscape in it. It was quiet and tranquil with few people in it, it seemed like a resting place...
"As you know, we are an unconventional sect. We don't have any headquarters and the places we own can, at most, be considered as a branch and these 'branches' are our gathering points where travelers rest from exhausting journeys. An inn !"
"Yes! We are the backbone of travelers, the guardian of the free! For those who seek adventures, traveling the land, it is heaven's resting place. People come and go, having different aspirations and jobs to achieve. Welcoming everyone of different walks of life, our inns are the safest refuge in the entire world (provided that you have the money) !"
What the supervisor said was very interesting and showed the spirit of the sect and even though it was bizarre, Tang Ling liked it a lot. But the last sentence was strange, how could someone guarantee the safety of an another? It was impossible, even in the royal palace of Brokang where it was rumoured to have ten thousand guards and a couple of powerful Fluxers/Orderers! A year ago, it was declared that Princess Elizabeth died of an assassination from a mysterious killer in her room.
"You may think how we could boast about how secure our inns are or just curious about the legendary reputation we have for this and it's simple: Juedui Heping (Absolute Peace)." The supervisor smiled at the beautiful graceful girl with the intention to let her explain.
The noble girl nodded and spoke like she was reciting a text by heart: "Juedui Heping, also known as Absolute Peace. Legends say that its materials come from the firmament and was formed by the will of heaven. In other words, it is a heavenly natural artifact that no man can create but it's unranked amongst the Heavenly Artifacts' List. Juedui Heping belongs to Lord Great Protector of Rest, Shi Xiong, and prohibits physical, mental, and spiritual attacks of whoever in the field. Even when Dark Lord tried to circumvent the artifact's power, he still failed to do any harm."
The supervisor looked pleased at this explanation and added: "Absolute Peace can also divide its power to create smaller <Absolute Peace> which we call Itinerant Peaces. At these lower artifacts, they have the same function as the original but can only contain it within the boundaries of mortals. Beings superior to its strength can ignore this restriction and destroy it. In a way, Itinerant Peaces which are placed in every inn we own, will protect absolutely everybody as long as they didn't offend a powerhouse like Dark Lord or Heavenly Flames Monarch. We also have an Elder who is in one of the inns he administers and at least a Master in every inn for emergency purposes. Incidentally, I am one of such Masters and so, qualified to teach our arts."
The supervisor guided the group to the inn and sat on the floor where no one was here.
"My name is Gu Ze and as the tradition dictates, I will be your teacher and shall introduce you to our sect's martial arts. Our sect has two unique breathing techniques with endless modifications from seniors. The first is the Carefree Breathing Technique and the second is Endless Earth Breathing Technique, the former being the more renown and cultivated."
A student raised his hand and asked: "Master Gu Ze, what is the difference between these two ?"
"It's an interesting question. well it's like comparing Revolting Heaven and Empress of Snow cultivation technique. Both are world renown and cultivating it to the apex, leads to immortality and godhood but people knows that these techniques require special body types which only one in a thousand years and one with the Heaven Revolting constitution will never cultivate Empress of Snow which would kill him if he ever does so. The breathing techniques are differentiated by the temperament and will lead to slightly different results. Carefree Technique cultivates the mind of the free, without restrain and is similar to Jade Qi Crane from the Pure Jade Sect. Endless Earth, on the other hand, cultivates 'momentum' and 'steadiness' and is similar to qi from Shaolin monks. Carefree is tied to the 'wind' attribute and potentially favor fire or water while Endless Earth is tied to 'earth' and potentially favor 'water', 'wood' or 'metal'."
"The distinction between them is like light and heavy. Different but still rely on the concept of weight. Now, choose !"
Fwoosh !
In a flash, two booklets appeared from the master's sleeve and were placed in front of them, revealing each their first page.
[Carefree Breathing Technique: Wind-based technique. Practicing this technique allows one to become free in the mind and the body. Move like the wind and light as a feather, paired with Steady Wind Qigong, can make the practitioner faster than a horse and jumps into roofs as easy as breathing.]
[Endless Earth Technique: Earth-based technique. Practicing this technique allows one to be as steady and disciplined as a mountain both in the mind and the body. Strong as a mountain yet vast as the world. Works well with Earth Traversing Qigong.]

(Undetermined)
[Carefree is the state of mind. What better way to live than to be righteous? To be without being burdened by existing. There are many complexities in this world and these can lead people to be muddled. Living by simplicity, unburdened by unnecessary responsibilities, I live by my conscience and like the wind, travel the world everywhere.

[Treasures are buried under the earth, becoming hidden gems. My being does not lie on stagnation but to cultivate myself, discovering hidden talents in me. I explore earth to the inner working of the world. Humanity came from earth and so, have all the matters of the world. The world has no limit therefore, the human body has no limit.
