System: Game World

Hidden under this seemingly prosperous modern world is a desolate and broken civilization, recovering from a deep wound. In this resource-poor world, natural resources are scarce and people compensate with strange alloys made of energy called 'Flux'. What's more, looming over this peaceful scenery is these strange invasions of mutated creatures, capable of destroying buildings in a split second. No one knows what life was before the Great Destruction, survivors from this era picked up some knowledge before rebuilding civilization creating this weird world where some fields are extremely advanced while others lag behind by three hundred years. Monarchy and Religion prevails in this seemingly modern world and powerful beings called 'Orderers' who protects the land that humanity has claimed are so powerful and their status so respected that it seems that they were simply a higher species than the common man. Inequality is so huge but nothing can be done, in front of those evolved humans, number is meaningless. Because they are stronger, capable of wiping out entire armies, they are respected and feared From the ruins, ashes flutter and is reborn again. Three continents still exist in this planet, namely: Brokang Continent, named after the first conqueror and savior of humanity's dynasty; the Holy Continent, where the Sacred Spirit, lies and is worshipped and the Higher Dimensional Continent where even to this day, is the major forefront and battlefield between the creatures from the void and humanity. In an outer city of the Brokang Empire, a youngster is struck by a rock and mysteriously gains a System that comes with a world where resources are plentiful and another power system that can give Orderers a run of their money! Let us see what the main character can do in this chaotic era disguised as an orderly one, where mutated beasts run amok and human figures scheming against each other for more power and benefits, where unethical laws are put as well-intentioned ones and when it seems that God has abandoned this world for good! Chapter Update: Inconsistent, averaging 1 chap/month. This story has started a long time ago when my writing was a little bit immature so bear with it. The writing should be getting better as I get a clearer view of the world I want to create and build.

Hunter Association

Tang Ling didn't know how but he managed to transport the corpse to the city without a hitch and slowly but surely, entered the Hunter Association.

The famed Hunter Association was where hunters gather and exchanged between others. It would also be where they would sell it to interested buyers. Ben George Association acted as the unnecessary middlemen to sell. It was even made illegal to sell and buy without someone with a permit in between and it was with this power that they managed to get bad deals with every hunter in the city but they could only grit their teeth and sell it to them.

The Association is very big but there were few hunters present so when Tang Ling entered, he felt that it was pretty empty and cold. But in fact, it wasn't true. It is pretty late and most hunters would have finished their hunts and returned with loot. The only problem was that although most hunters came back, the number of hunters was never high in the beginning and the building so grand and large that the thirty-ish hunters present here seemed little.

All with a few exceptions wore multiple flashy high-quality equipment.

A man was standing on the wall, it was obvious that he was doing it because he wanted to look cool. He wore a flashy dark which seemed to be made of feather, his entire outfit looked like a black raven.

"Heh? A newbie? It doesn't matter, he would eventually quit... WHAT ?"

The man couldn't believe it, the teen he just labeled as a newbie who will eventually quit had a huge bear corpse on his back. The corpse was at least a meter longer than the greatest beast he ever hunted and that was after he set up a few expensive traps to kill it! Did this guy managed to kill it when it was injured? Is he one of those rich bastards, buying high-quality traps and servants to hunt? Or did he slay it with real skills?

Tang Ling looked at every hunter in the room and he could see that they were pretty strong overall. Some had slightly inferior equipment but the strong physical body, others had great equipment and other high-grade traps. But no one was weak, even "newbies". If he came here before he got the [System] and did not enter the [Game World], he would feel like an ant before them, probably 10 of old Tang Ling wouldn't beat the weakest of them all.

Now, he was strong, with stats of 1.2, he was three-time stronger than normal people and he had various skills that he could use, he was now qualified to meet toes-to-toes against a hunter.

The man in a flashy raven outfit, for example, was a little weaker than him. Tang Ling estimated that he had a stat of 1.0 or less strength. But surely he had experience and a number of trump cards...

[Face Blur: when putting it on, it would blur the wearer's facial expression. ]

[Intimidation: Due to the hood's mysterious shape, it will intimidate anyone who see it.]

The heck? Tang Ling's eyes nearly popped off. What's with this crazy equipment? Although he had heard about Synthesizer, it couldn't be that OP! At least, if everyone had an equipment like this, did this mean that his cheat was useless?

[Old Soldier Chest Guard (Common)]

[Wolf Slaying Crossbow (Common)]

[Heto Breaker Musket (Common-Fine)]

[City Legion Crossbow (Rare)]

Looking at this, Tang Ling sighed out of relief. At least, the black man was an exception. Tang Ling also noted that most weapons hunters use are long-range weapons. There may be one or two but these people also use pistols, muskets, bows or crossbows as a main weapon too.

Well, just like him.

Tang Ling approached the attendant and asked. "How much is it ?"

The attendant looked at the corpse, struggling a little bit and responded: "445 credits."

Hearing the price, Tang Ling frowned. Isn't it too low as a price or...

"Little girl, aren't ya dishonest! This corpse is a bear, it can be considered as pretty good among other species. Looking at how tall and strong its muscles are, it's at least a 3 stars beast. Surely, even if you tried to point out every flaw to bring down the price, it would be at least be 500 credits." A man in grey soldier armor ridiculed and then laughed.

"Young'un, I am Hebert but people call me Old Bert. I am letting you know that you're being cheated. By the way, you know what you hunted ?"

Hebert looked at him with a gaze like 'I mean, it's really impressive that you hunted this beast. Surely, you took a lot of time, knowing every detail of this beast and struck at its weakest. You should have also done your research so it's expected for you to know the name of the beast you hunted.'

Pressured by the gaze that could contain a million words, Tang Ling answered the name that the System gave him: "It's an Uruvia Bear."

"AN URUVIA BEAR ?!" The old man couldn't but exclaim in shock. "A four stars, half-five stars ?"

He looked at the corpse: "These powerful maws, the indigo-orange fur !" he then stabbed the fur with a medium knife from who-knows-where. "Powerful defense! Not even a stab from a Richard Knife Series 9 can cut it open !"

The crowd whispered, shocked by this revelation. Richard Knife Series 9 could be considered as one of the best knives in the marketplace. Its sharpness could be classed in the top 10 and is very versatile in many situations making it an all-purpose knife that costs a hundred credits for a used one. If its sharpness could not pierce the fur, it would mean that lower caliber guns and homemade ones would only leave a slight scratch on it.

Even a Fluxer, renown from their mysterious powers, would not dare to take a shot from a bullet in close range.

This is a half-five star beast! In the entire hall, only veteran hunters would dare to take this task of slaying it and an adult Uruvia Bear albeit the one of the weakest of the category is still a half-five stars!

Everyone looked at Tang Ling with amazement and then looked at the attendant. 445 credits for the corpse of an Uruvia Bear is really too low. A scam, more precisely.
