Unable to Log Out!?
To think that I have fallen to Erina's scheme…
"Is this why you bring me out and make me use all of my money?" I ask that directly to Erina.
Erina then give me a glare hearing the thing I said to her, "You think I am that desperate on wanting you to join the adventurer faction? I just want to help you buy quality products and for you to accuse me of such a thing!"
Seeing her reaction, it seems like I have already made her mad make me somewhat bad. Because I assumed her to have a bad intention even though she was just trying to help me on buying good stuff.
"Umm… sorry about that. I just feel that you're aiming for that and it's my bad for assuming stuff." I said that to Erina in the hope she would forgive me.
But she didn't give me any reply. Does not even look at me… all she gave me was a pouty look on her face.
She was giving me a really hard time right now.
I tried to find a way out of this predicament.
"Well... I'll tell you what I need..." I said that as I said something that I hope would be able to cheer her up, "How about you gave me a tour of the Adventurer Faction? You know, it would be good for me if you do that..."
I was really hoping to make her feel better. But I think it's not going to work.
"You don't have to force yourself. It's obvious that you are not interested in our faction at all." Erina said that to me as she looked down at her feet and shook her head.
This is not good at all. I really need to make her feel better. But what could I say to cheer her up?
"No, Erina. That's not true. I actually want to see the Adventurer Faction." I said that to Erina in order to try and convince her that I am interested to visit the faction.
But seeing her reaction, it seemed like I did not do a good job of convincing her.
I tried again, "But... I mean, I do understand why you wouldn't want to show me around." Erina still looks unhappy. She still wasn't convinced.
I did my best to make her feel better by telling her the reason why.
"The Adventurer Faction... I mean, I'm not exactly a fan of being adventurers but there's nothing wrong with me seeing the place." I then tell her the reason why.
But Erina's expression was still not so good, "I know you're not. So there is no need for you to pretend." She then said that as she pouted her lips. Now that Erina is not in the mood…
"Let me tell you something... If you can't show me around then I will just go to the other adventurers."
When I said that, I could see the reaction from Erina. I could see that her expression suddenly changed.
"Are you sure?" She said that as she glared at me.
She seems to be a bit angry.
"That's the only way I can think of. If I cannot convince you otherwise."
Erina's expression immediately went to a calm look, "Fine, then. I will take you around." Her expression has changed completely. She took a deep sigh and now she is back to her normal self.
"But not today, as it's better for you to rest up in the hostel. Because I have things to do in the Adventurer Faction." Erina then told me.
"Sure, I'll just go back to the hostel for today. But tomorrow..."
"Tomorrow, I'll show you around. I'll personally bring you around." Erina said with a smile.
"Yeah, tomorrow, then."
And so I went back to the hostel. We both then part way after that.
I guess I take this time to rethink or plan ahead what I should do after this. I have no idea what to do in the future. And still, there's still a lot of questions in my head about how I ended up in this place.
This is also a good opportunity to think about what I should do with my life.
With that in mind, I start to walk back to the hostel.

I went straight to my room as I am really tired. It's only 2 pm in the afternoon and it's a tiring day. It's not like I do much but because of all of the stuff that has been happening to me today. I really need to rest.
I was laying down on my bed, looking up at the ceiling.
I open up my system, and looking at it makes me remind what they had said regarding it. That such system doesn't exist to them anymore as they lost the ability to do so when they come here.
Making me special for some reason… but I do not plan to stay here because the log-out function is not greyed out like before. I think I should be logging out and asking the devs about this issue.
Because some part of me doesn't believe that this kinda stuff exists. Even if it looks real and their story seems legit, I just do not think that I am here for a reason like all of those light novels story that I read.
Being the chosen one that is… this is probably just a glitch that happens in the game.
I mean they do roll out a new patch just a month ago so that might cause all of this to happen.
So first just log out, and eat a meal!
My hand hovers around the log-out button in my system menu. Then, I touch the log-out button. But no matter how long I waited. Nothing happened.
It did not work.
I don't know why it's not working. Maybe the problem lies with the server. Or maybe the servers are just having a glitch that is similar to mine.
Because this is just a game. I then close the system menu.
I'm not sure what to do with this. I can't log out. What does that mean?
I've never seen someone else stuck inside the game in my entire gaming experience. Maybe something happen to the server making people unable to log out for a certain time.
But whatever the case is, I need to search for more information.
I sit upright, get off the bed, and stand up. Then I walk over to my window which faces westward. I reopen my system menu and headed towards the help option. I hope to be able to see an announcement saying that something happens to the servers.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything related to it in the list of announcements.
There were many things listed under the Help category, however, most of them are just useless tips. Like the tip on how to increase your stats through training and leveling up.
There's also the help article about how to craft items, and another one explaining how to sell or trade goods. The last section of the page contains the announcement for the latest update.
But nothing mention of the server outage or problems that make players stuck in the game for a while.
I continue scrolling until I reach the bottom of the page where the message board is located.
For a while, I stare blankly at the empty space above but somehow I was unable to load a thing. Like refresh stuff, as it displays an error every time I wanted to see new stuff. I was still able to see some messages but it was the message that were sent before I got into this place.
My mind began to realize that this might be happening… like I am really stuck in this game for real.
I try to calm down as I think of something that I do not yet attempt to prove that I am really stuck.
Then I finally got one, one last attempt… that was actually trying to purchase the same item on the store page. If I am able to access that and bought stuff from the store, that should mean that I have some hope of actually logging out of this game.
As I am not completely stuck.
I quickly open the store page and it seems like I can't load up new stuff, it was just the existing preload stuff before I got into this place. But it doesn't matter, what's important was for me to actually be buying stuff.
My balance isn't that money as I never did top up in the game, I grind it by events and stuff. So the only thing I could buy is the EXP Booster potions… I will try as I only have one attempt.
Because that's all my balance is worth of… only for that single item.
I click buy and my hope was crushed immediately as nothing happen…
