Chapter #45

AN: This is all I can write before reading the books. Yes, Zeno will be in the same generation as Geralt and Eskel.

Will Zeno be banging Ciri? Maybe. Is it morally justifiable for one to sleep with their friend's adopted daughter? No. Do I care? Not really.

Once again Zeno was rowing on the calm river. The boat was brought back by Merlin who had left a note saying he likes watching him row.

Zeno too likes the feeling of rowing, he probably wouldn't mind sailing his own ship if it's going to be enjoyable as rowing a boat.

He even got the System and Ouryuu out since it was currently safe. These two were not able to separate from him for long distances here.

They weren't looking for a particular world even if they could now glimpse into the worlds around him.

Instead Zeno had a compass made out of biomass, it's needle was covered with Karmic Virtue, his own luck guiding him to his fortune.

Although he didn't know whether it was good or bad. Zeno decided to trust his newfound luck.

It worked out for other protagonists, why wouldn't it work for him?

After some rowing later Zeno noticed the drop in temperature and soon noticed something he never saw before.

The river was forking towards one side, from what he could see. The water formed a frozen lake with a single gigantic world in the middle.

There were tiny worlds connected to that gigantic world with unstable silver strings, Zeno would see some greenish lighting zapping in between worlds.

"The fuck is that!?" Zeno exclaimed.

That world gave him a feeling of danger, especially the core of it that kept spilling icy cold energy all over the worlds it was connected to.

"It's a world with multiple worlds within itself. Nasuverse would be a sight to see. System explained while lowering his sunglasses to take a proper look.

"What about parallel worlds and different timelines?" Zeno was intrigued.

"Your head cannot comprehend it just yet. So it is automatically ignored to save you from pain. You can't die from an explosive brain hemorrhage after all." System said while putting his sunglasses back on.

Zeno gulped, that was a bad way to go however you looked. Sighing Zeno looked at his compass once more, saw that it pointed the world in front of him.

Firming up his resolve Zeno jumped on the frozen surface of the river that turned into ice from the cold and started to walk.

The other two quickly followed after him, although Ouryuu seemed to be not focusing on the road.

As they walked Zeno too had started frosting but his body was rapidly adapting to the cold.

[Hey, what are you looking at?] Zeno heard System asking Ouryuu.

Ouryuu didn't answer. He was still looking at a nearby world. Seeing him like that, Zeno took a glance at it and saw what's inside.

In that crimson colored world Zeno saw Yona playing pranks on Hak. Meanwhile the other dragons were living their childhoods and Zeno himself was wandering around.

It was another version of Akatsuki no Yona...

"We can drop by if you want." Zeno spoke to Ouryuu.

"I don't want to meet a version of my family that would look at me like we're strangers. Let's move on." Ouryuu shook his head with a bitter smile before he had his trademark grin once more.

Zeno shrugged, he would have liked to see them but he also understood his past life's feelings.

He was already at the point he had met Kaya but he didn't want to go on knowing what would come. Zeno truly didn't want to go through such pain but he also knew he would never be able to assimilate his past life if he didn't go through with it.

Shaking his head, he jumped into the icy world, while the system followed behind. He would have liked to glance inside before jumping in but the icy energy prevented him from doing so.

Considering this is the place his luck thus destiny guides him. Zeno didn't mind going in blind, like when did he know where he was going anyway.

While neither Zeno nor System was looking, Ouryuu looked at that world once more, what he saw however was different.

He saw himself in a modern setting wearing some stylish clothes. Next to him an ashen haired girl with emerald-green eyes was pestering him about.

He looked towards the icy energy spilling towards his homeworld before he sighed again.

{Looks like I won't be able to hide my little secret any longer.} Ouryuu turned away from that doomed world.

Zeno and the System have always thought that he found a way to die alongside Yona and the rest but that wasn't true.

He was left alone once again, by the time it was time for another reincarnation of Hiryuu to descend, humanity had already become worthless in the eyes of heaven.

So, Zeno spent his years in depression while trying to find a way to get to space and hoped the sun would be enough to kill him.

Until the day he met her...

Once Zeno had entered the world he felt like he was thrown in a barrel thrown off a mountain.

He was hurting all over while some greenish energy kept ripping his body apart, until he was enveloped by a swarm of flower petals.

Then he saw Merlin, this time he was glaring at him. Zeno felt like he did something wrong judging by Merlin's expression but he couldn't understand what.

"I won't be saving you out closed loops like this again, this time you got a freebie since it was accidental. Don't mess with such things until you understand what you're doing." Merlin waved his finger at him in dissatisfaction before vanishing.

"..." Zeno was dumbfounded.

Why did he get reprimanded? What did he fucking do?! He should at least have an idea but all he did was enter the damn world.

Before he could dwell on that Zeno felt the pain coming back, this time it was from the depths of his soul. He felt his bloodline being sealed into a seed, restricting his powers to just his immortality.(AN:This is just until he goes through the mutations, he'll get them back afterwards. Showing supernatural qualities before mutations in a school full of sorcerers is dangerous since Zeno is not entirely immune to magic.)

Then he felt like he was being lifted off the ground by a creature with claws. Zeno wasn't even able to open his eyes due to exhaustion.

By the time he was dropped off, all he heard was a child's scream accompanied by a feminine scream before he heard the female speak.

"Y-yes... Mister dragon. I will look over him until he wakes up. I was going there anyway, I will make sure he reaches his destination" Zeno heard the woman speak as he lost consciousness.

Once Zeno woke up he found himself lying on some hay, a cotton blanket covering his half naked form.

He realized that he was on some horse carriage without any cover, he could see a woman driving the carriage but he couldn't see her face.

Zeno's senses told him that she was aware that he woke up but was just listening.

He wasn't wearing anything on his top, Zeno tried to create some clothes out of his biomass but he found himself unable to.

'The fuck happened to my powers!?' Zeno yelled in his mind.

[Stop yelling geeze. We were all knocked out cold. From what I can see some magic bullshit sealed your powers which is pretty fucking scary but whomever did it left your immortality intact.] System said grumpily.

{How many bottles did I drink? What year is it?} Ouryuu mumbled.

Just the mental hangover they all shared was enough for Zeno to be in a bad mood, just because it fades away quickly doesn't mean he likes suffering.

"Hey, you're finally awake!" Zeno heard someone calling to him behind.

"Fucking Todd Howard!" Zeno cursed as he looked behind.

There was a child sitting on some hay, judging by the book beside him he was just reading until Zeno woke up.

"I don't know anyone with that name... But how did you get kidnapped by a flying snake!? It was humongous!" The child dropped his book before coming next to him.

His rapid fire questions was giving Zeno a migraine which faded away but left a bitter taste in his mouth.

"I don't know anything about a flying snake... My name is Zeno. What's your name?" Zeno sighed as he calmed down and asked.

"I am Geralt! Me and Ma were traveling before that snake dropped you off." Now named Geralt spoke.

"That's enough Geralt, he must be quite confused. Why don't you take your new friend with you to fetch some water. It will help him clear his head." The woman who Zeno could assume was Geralt's mother called out.

"Yes Ma, come on Zeno. Tell me all about yourself on the way." Geralt quickly got off and took the clay pot from the carriage before taking off.

Zeno stared at Geralt's mother for a while, he felt like she wouldn't be waiting for them to return.

"Why are you not going? Geralt can't handle it alone." The woman spoke.

"You're abandoning him..." Zeno said.

He saw the woman tremble for a split second before she composed herself.

"I am leaving him to his destiny, as for you. I already fulfilled the request of the monster that brought you to me, he said I could be forceful since you could take it." She spoke.

Zeno suddenly found himself flying through the trees towards the river Geralt ran off to.

'Fuckin magic!' Zeno was pissed and kept swearing as he flew off.

"That spell should have been more powerful... Magic resistance? That kid is full of surprises. Well it doesn't concern me anymore. I hope he'll be a good friend to my son." The woman mumbled before she kept driving off.

One could see tears coming off her eyes yet she didn't glance back not once...
