Arthur

A golden-haired boy who looked around the age of seventeen was standing outside the blacksmith shop attached to the smithy. Looking at the dazzling array of equipment inside, his eyes revealed a look of desire.

He was a thin boy in tattered clothes, who looked like a beggar, but those close to him will realize that the young man was anything but. After all, there was no transcendent who has to beg as many nobles will be willing to purchase their services.

At this moment, he wanted to purchase a magic tool, so that he could use the enchanted talisman he found in a cave.

It was his only option left as he had been fleeing for his life for the last six months. To the west of Pato, many miles away there was another town named Donestone, which was under the Silvercolt family.

Arthur had been a promising young man in Berry village under the jurisdiction of the Donestone town. He was born into an ordinary family but when he was fifteen years old he awakened. But his nature was kind and was always helpful to his fellow villagers and never bullied anyone.

This greatly improved his family's status in the village and he was planning to go join the local rulers the Silvercolt family to earn more money for his cultivation.

But things rarely go according to our plans. He was not the only one awakened in the village. There was another man who awakened a few years prior to Arthur. Marcus had already joined the Silvercolt family and considered Berry village his personal piggy bank.

The rise of Arthur was a direct challenge to his authority as he was used to collecting protection fees and such from the village. As they say, comparisons hurt, with the presence of Arthur, people were less accommodating of Marcus.

One was kind while the other was a bully, and as such there were bound to be clashes in the village from time to time. Due to being the only one who could stop him, Arthur had to clash a few times with him.

Marcus reported it to the Silvercolt family with a few embellishments and as a result, the Silvercolt family sent their forces to Berry village to get rid of Arthur and his family.

Arthur was no match for the more than ten knight apprentices that came, especially due to the fact that all of them were level one. As a result, His family was brutally murdered before his eyes.

He barely escaped due to the fact that they were toying with him as Marcus wanted to break him and thoroughly humiliated him before they proceeded to kill him. Which gave him a chance to break through their encirclement and enter the woods.

Now Arthur's only reason to live was to kill Marcus and destroy the Silvercolt family that aided him. It was during his time in the forest, he had a chance encounter, through which he got an enchanted talisman.

Back to the present, Arthur made his way into the blacksmith shop. There were all kinds of weapons on display on the right side. Swords, sabers, spears, axes, etc. The left side was dealing with shields and armor.

As he approached the weapons section, a young helper hurried over and greeted him.

"Hi good morning, how can I help you?"

"I am looking for an offensive magic tool that can be enchanted" Arthur replied to him

"Theoretically speaking all magic tools are able to be enchanted due to the materials used in their production, but swords are the most preferred form of weapon"

"Furthermore higher the grade of the enchantment better the weapon should be, Can I ask what grade of enchantment you are planning to use?" Edvin enthusiastically explained.

Edvin was a new worker at the blacksmith shop, he felt it was his lucky day as the customer wanted to buy a magic tool. Most of the townsfolk in Pato came for ordinary tools. Even low-grade magic tools sales are only in two digits in a month.

Even though the client looked poor in his tattered clothes, Edvin didn't look down on him, because he could feel the unique energy that was emitted from Arthur's body. It was similar to the energy that was on the young noble and the boss who came by yesterday, just it felt much weaker.

A transcendent can't actually be that poor right? he would probably make a good commission on this sale and leave a good impression on his direct boss. A job in the blacksmith shop was quite cushy compared to other stressful jobs like hunting and tilling the land.

Sadly he was bound to be disappointed today, as Arthur was like a fugitive in this society due to standing against the Silvercolt family. Not to mention he had only been a transcendent for a year and before he could make any money he was attacked by Marcus.

"It is an ancient enchantment that I am not sure will work anymore, so I think I will choose a low-grade magic tool, How much are these weapons?" Arthur asked pointing at the few low-grade magic weapons in front of him.

"Low-grade weapons have standard prices, swords go for around 500 gold coins each while sabers cost 400 gold coins. Spears cost 650 gold coins and Axes cost 450 gold coins."

"Which weapon do you prefer I can show you the desired weapon, different blacksmith's works will cause a slight fluctuation in prices. I would suggest choosing one of Master Bruce's works even though they are not easy on the eyes they are much sturdier than the rest and will have a higher enchantment success rate" Edvin joyfully told Arthur.

Arthur awkwardly took out his bag of gold coins and said, "I only have 250 gold coins, can I get a discount?"

"I will come back and pay the rest of the money if I can't get a discount. Is that alright?"

Arthur's gaze was very sincere and he was eager to obtain a magic tool, But sadly Edvin could not help in the current circumstance. Especially since he had only started working here.

"I am sorry Sir, but we don't offer discounts, especially on low-grade magic tools. Even if you haggle with me it is no use as I am not the one who decides the pricing here."

Edvin felt bad that he wouldn't be making a sale here but he quickly picked himself up. He was a salesman and didn't want to lose out on the first customer he got. Plus if he could make a sale of 250 gold coins was still a good sale for him.

Arthur wanted to buy a low-grade magic tool, but with that few gold coins in his hand, he would not be able to get one anywhere. Why not introduce him to the damaged weapons after all he only wanted to try out that enchantment. Besides he looked quite desperate to get a low-grade tool.

"Sir, you won't find low-grade magic tools at that price anywhere in the neighboring towns much less here. The price will only go up in the city. Why not try out some old weapons? Even though they are not as good as in their prime they are still useable and much stronger than ordinary weapons."

Arthur felt he should give it a try in any case, as otherwise who knows when he would be able to get a decent weapon. Of course, he could try to apply for employment with the nobles, but the Silvercolt family was a boulder that was laying on him. They might not be a big power in the whole Holy Aslan Empire but were an influential one here in the border region.

He needed to purchase a magic tool if he needed to enchant it, as ordinary weapons are not strong enough to endure the enchantment energy. He wanted to become stronger for his revenge and he would have no hope of opposing a superpower like the Silvercolt family without a strong weapon.

"Please show me the weapons you are talking about" Arthur said to Edvin, after all, there was no loss in taking a look even if he didn't find what he wanted to find.

"Those weapons are mainly stored in the warehouse for accumulation before they are jointly melted and reforged into new weapons, so please follow me to the back of the shop" Edvin led Arthur to the warehouse where Bheem was praying for Arthur's quick arrival.

Creak!

Morning light shone in as the warehouse's door was pushed open. In the past two days, the warehouse had become popular for it to have visitors daily, usually only once a month a helper would bring in some discarded tools and some old tools. Bheem eagerly looked towards the visitors today.

He saw two youths coming in. One of them was in the blacksmith's uniform, while the other was wearing tattered clothes and looked very poor. But Bheem felt this might be Arthur as he was very thin. The helper was introducing various swords of low grade to him.

Bheem made his body vibrate a little. Even though it was just a small action Arthur who was nearby noticed it and asked Edvin about the sword.

"Oh this one, hmm it looks much better than before maybe Lord Emil cleaned it up while he was here yesterday with the young noble from the Wyndall family. This sword was picked up by the Baron in an ancient ruin which was quite popular. It is said that it was made using some very precious materials but due to poor skills its grade was not up to the mark."

When Arthur heard about the history he felt the sword had vibrated again, he was startled but he was glad that Edvin didn't seem to have noticed it. Maybe there is a spirit laying dormant in it he felt this sword was no ordinary magic tool especially since it was fished out from an ancient ruin, and it would be better to purchase it

"I will take this sword" Arthur didn't waste any more time since he found what he wanted.

"Eh, are you sure you want this? It is much costlier than the rest as once it is repaired slightly it might rise back to a low-grade weapon. If you really want to buy it will cost you 250 gold coins" Edvin wasn't going to lose the chance to earn the 250 gold coins from him after spending so much effort on this sale.

Arthur was very decisive as well as he immediately handed over the bag of gold coins and took the iron sword and left the place.

Edvin was happy to make the sale as 250 gold coins were not something an ordinary person like him can take out. He had managed to sell a damaged weapon for that price, If the boss came to know about this he might praise him and even increase his pay.

Arthur didn't dally around in Pato after that after all he got what he wanted. Plus if the sword really had a spirit its really rank would be much higher and if that was discovered the Baron might turn against him.

He was already being hunted by the Silvercolt family he really couldn't afford to piss off more nobles for now.
