Chapter 6 – Revenge

Classes soon ended and it was time for Kyle to get home. He knew what today was waiting for him on his way back. With the way Kyle beat up Orpal the other day it was only natural for Orpal, someone stupid in Kyle's eyes, to enact revenge. It's not as if Orpal would do it only for revenge, he had been doing it every day for the last week.

But there was something that made Kyle excited. Orpal was weak now in Kyle's eyes. Because Kyle now had a much better understanding of martial arts. But the true reason why Kyle was extremely excited was the tempering points he would leech from Orpal and his minions. Kyle was almost salivating thinking about how much further he would progress.

When getting closer to the dorm, Kyle could already see Orpal and his minions by the gate. Kyle didn't even flinch and walked straight towards them. Orpal, when he noticed that Kyle was getting closer, changed his countenance into one of rage. He immediately rushed towards Kyle using all his power.

"Kyle bastard!" Orpal raged.

"Stupid Orpal, didn't you learn your lesson yesterday?" Kyle smirked.

"Take this and shut up!" Orpal raged once again. He was running towards Kyle, and he thrusted his fist towards Kyle's face. Kyle was calm on the outside, but inside he was feeling a mixture of excitement and rage. Excitement because he could get stronger by beating others, rage because he was remembering all the beatings he took from Orpal and his gang.

Kyle simply grabbed the stretched-out fist from Orpal and sidestepped while leaving a foot on Orpal's way. He pulled Orpal's fist and made Orpal trip on his outstretched leg. He used the momentum of the pull to jump ahead and reach Orpal's minions.

The minions didn't even believe that Kyle was coming for them. The moment they saw Orpal rushing towards Kyle, they left as well, but there was no way for them to catch up with Orpal, so they were a bit behind.

Kyle used the fact the Orpal was on the floor and abused his increased strength knock all of Orpal minions out. By the time Orpal was back on his feet, all of his minions were already knocked out and Kyle was rushing towards him.

Orpal tried to abuse Kyle momentum and send out a kick on where Kyle was supposed to be. But Kyle was smarter than that. He noticed the kick coming and simply grabbed Kyle's leg used his momentum to pull the leg and throw Orpal out of balance. But once Orpal noticed that Kyle had both his hands on his leg, he decided to punch Kyle even though he knew he was about to fall again.

Kyle then used his leg and kicked behind Orpal's knee to accelerate the fall, but since his movement was rushed and he still had a lot of momentum from his running, he ended up falling as well. But he made sure to use Orpal leg to rotate Orpal's body and use him to smooth his fall a bit.

Orpal was still in the middle of throwing a punch and didn't have much time to react to use his arms to slow down his descent that was extremely accelerated when Kyle kicked his knee. He fall with his head first on the floor and was immediately knocked out.

Kyle now on the floor noticed that Orpal was out. But it wasn't enough to satisfy his anger. He got up and started kicking Orpal all over his body. He broke all of Orpal's limbs and made his face look like pig from all the swelling. He didn't forgive the minions as well and sent out beat the crap out of them as well. He only stopped when the minions stopped giving him body tempering points.

He got up and left the scene as quickly as he could. This whole scene didn't take longer than two minutes. So he dashed out there and didn't want to meet the guards that would take the boys to the infirmary.

The school allowed beatings and bullying to occurs simply because they thought it was a way to get stronger through suffering. So they would have guards patrolling around the school facilities. If the guards got someone on the act they would punish the aggressor. But most of the time they would only find the students laying on the floor.

These students would be brought to the infirmary that had some medical ability users that would heal the students back to top condition.

When the guards arrived and saw this scene they had shivers running down their spines. It was simply too gruesome. Orpal limbs were all broken with the bone sticking out and blood rushing out of the wounds, the whole body was swollen, specially the face. There was blood running from his nose and his eyes.

The other minions were much better in comparison, they only had bruises all over and their faces were swollen and purple.

"Damn, what happened here, it's best if we take him immediately or else he might die." One of the guards said.

"I'll request more guards to take the rest, let's take this one together or else we can endanger his life by moving him without taking care."

When they arrived at the infirmary and the doctor saw the situation that Orpal was he also felt that it was too brutal. But he didn't have time to think about it too much, he started to operate his ability and heal Orpal's body. When Orpal was out of danger, he aligned the bones and put a cast around him. Now Orpal was looking like plaster mummy.

"Finally, this one was hard. Even with my healing abilities and medicine it'll take him fifteen days to fully recover. This was simply too brutal." The doctor said. "I better report this time, these injuries are too much."

The next day, Kyle arrived at class. The teacher had arrived early. This was the first time this happened, normally was the teacher was the last one to arrive. When all students arrived the teacher started to speak.

"Yesterday a student was beaten so badly that he will have to stay in the infirmary for half a month. I know that you guys fight when no one is looking, but to take precious time from a fellow student when the year is ending and the power index is so important. This is too heartless. The school decided to punish every little fight from now on. If you guys fight next time or if anyone is rescued again, they will be punished."

"The school will have guards on every corner from now on, there will be no escape."

"Who was it that was beaten?" A student asked.

"It was Orpal." Suddenly everyone was gasped when the teacher revealed who was it that was beaten.

"Isn't he the strongest student and is always surrounded by his gang?" One student asked.

"It's obvious he is not the strongest anymore." Suddenly someone said while looking at Kyle. The others followed his gaze, and it landed on Kyle.

Everyone knew that it was Kyle that had beaten up Orpal. They knew to some extent that Orpal was harassing Kyle. But they also remembered that Kyle was different this time, now he knew martial arts and could fight with someone stronger than him. This also ignited a fire on them to stop relying too much on power index and instead to learn martial arts as well.

"Well, let's continue with the class." The teacher said. And the classes continued as normal.

At another room. Hank was looking pensively. Yesterday, Orpal went missing again. He was supposed to hand over Kyle's 'taxes'. He didn't know what happened until he was called for a meeting with all the teachers.

When he found out that Orpal was beaten badly he was furious. But he couldn't show it in front of the other teachers. Orpal was his soldier, and someone with a very important task, extort Kyle.

He just kept quiet throughout the whole meeting since he was afraid that he could expose his anger. Other teachers were not angry or anything. A student being badly beaten is normal to them. The issue was that Orpal was someone they were hoping to get good power index before the military draft. When they noticed that their bonus was dwindling they only felt dispirited.

They decided to stop infighting to avoid another accident like this happening, there were more prospects to achieve a good power index before the end of the year. One student less wasn't much, but if the incident occurred again they could lose another portion of their bonus.

"I must investigate who is messing with my soldier. This is the second time he was delayed because of a beating. Next, I need to deal with Kyle personally. I'll just make him disappear."

Then Hank looked outside the windows and sighed.

"Ah Kyle, I didn't want to force you, but you had to be so stubborn. Now you're forcing my hand."

The classes continued as normal, but everyone was excited about what was going to happen the next day. The power index assessment.
