after hearing that, I come to one conclusion 'gods don't play favourites' they just want drama to entertain them.

I said as I stood up and move towards the door.

I took a deep sigh as I couldn't think of any possibility to survive this face slapping event.

"now that I think about it maybe it's best to just go there and get humiliated. It's not like changing one event could change all future outcomes.....no my ego wouldn't allow that."

that's right I'm a petty person but can you blame me. I'm not a masochist that enjoys getting humiliated by beautiful ladies.

I heard someone's scream for help and before i could move my muscle a message was shown in front of me.

As I was reading my eyes stopped on one line and everything started making sense.

[objective: save first heroine Zhen Jia Li ]

I looked at the last line while muttering under my breath.

After a lot of thinking, I decided to save the heroine because as system said if I avoid any mission I will face divine punishment.

"but how?? I can't show her my face."

I mean in the original novel Xin did saved her but when she looked at him, she knew that he only saved her because she of her status. As for why, it's because at that time she wasn't the only one attacked by this group of criminals, there was a mother and her son too but he prioritised her, someone from an established cultivation family who could easily defend herself instead of ordinary citizens.

' Well I could save all of them instead of prioritising just Jia Li but then there's her personal hatred for Xin. '

as I was deciding how to save them, my eyes stopped on a broken black mask.

the mask was enough to cover upper half of my face as for my outfit, it's different from the one xin wore in the original.

" guess this is what they call plot armour."

Jia Li's POV

It all started when I helped someone I liked by destroying my fiance's family.

My fiance who loved me like a fool but I never gave him a chance.... I believed in some nasty rumours about him instead of my own eyes.

"Jia Li.... I always liked you..."

those were his last words before he was killed by Feng Xin...no... I.. I killed him, I betrayed him and destroyed his everything.

"Jia Li..."

but those words never left my mind and I started to regret my choices.

"I killed him."

there was not a single night when I didn't regret my decision on helping Xin.

One day, I finally took revenge on Feng Xin by killing him...of course not myself but with the help of few others.

"but...Jia Li why???"

*stab*

"ughh"

he tried to talk to me....to play with my mind but now I could only feel disgust towards him.

" don't say my name with that disgusting mouth of yours."

after we killed him a bright light appeared blinding my eyes and when I could finally see I cried...yes I cried because in front of me was non other than.

"Jia Li, no matter what happens I'll make you mine hah....ehh WHY ARE YOU CRYING???"

how could I not ....the man I longed for ....the man I wished I could save was in front of me.

"Jia Li....h..here y-you go."

I started to chuckle when he broke his character and gave me his handkerchief. Yes even though he acts all high and mighty, I know how in reality he's a really good person and this time it's my duty to save him.

Or at least that's what I thought.

"hahaha talk about luck, the Zhen family's gem is right in front of us."

Why did I got myself in this situation again and that is against these guys.

these idiots have no idea that the real reason I'm acting like this is because of that man... Feng Xin.

" I'm gonna give you all one last chance, leave that lady and her son or else I'll make sure you guys know what true hell is like."

that Feng Xin, in my previous life when he saved me I fell head over heels for him...but now that I matured a little, I can see that he only saved me and didn't even try to help that poor mother and son....that bastard.

'it's the same as last time....now that bastard will show up...even thinking about it is making me uneasy.'

I was worried with my own problems when i noticed one those criminals swing his fist towards that little boy.

"WEI!! SOMEONE SAVE HIM!!"

the mother cried while i started moving forward to save that boy when suddenly.

"ughhhh"

huh....one of the them, who was standing behind, was inside a garbage can.

"wha-ughhh"

*boom*

before my eyes could follow the noise, the second criminal was stuck to the wall with foam coming out of his mouth.

"WHO ARE YOU COWARD!!! ATTACKING US FROM BEHIND !!! IF YOU ARE A MAN COME AND FACE ME LIKE A MAN!!!"

As the last of the three was screaming when someone's shadow towered him.

"wh-hat...who are you??"

in front of him was a man with a decent build but what stood out was his black mask that was covering his face and his grey hoodie.

it felt just like before.....when Ran saved me as the white knight...but he was different, there was something menacing about his presence.

"I SAID-UGHH"

before the final thug could finish his words that masked man grab his face and...

*SLAM*

slammed his head on the ground, making him unconscious.

"sigh you okay..."

he said as he started moving towards me.

'is he talking to me...'

"ye-"

but before I could even respond, the masked man passed by me and knelt next to the little boy.

"I heard you called for me boy."

he put his hand on the little boy's head and started patting him.

"that was really brave of you."

but the boy looked down and said.

"b-but I didn't do anything.... I just screamed for help...like a coward.."

"but you did help, you screamed for help and I came in response so indirectly you did help."

in response to his words, the little Wei showed an innocent smile and left with his mother but before leaving he asked the masked stranger his name.

"hmm, my name you say... it's grey knight."

I took a deep breath and move forward towards him. he also looked back to me, acting as if he just saw me.

"thank you for saving us kind sir."

I was glad that xin didn't show up..but now instead of him someone else showed up.

I moved forward towards him wishing that he wouldn't be someone similar to that dog.

"uh.. ah yes sure, your welcome."

but instead of looking at me like every other men he started acting awkward while turning around and started walking .

"huh...um did I offend you some way. If so, then I deeply apologize for it."

When I said that he suddenly turned around facing me.

" no not at all, it's just that I'm in hurry and this city isn't gonna save itself right."

then he left in a hurry leaving me speechless.

"I guess it's a great thing that this city have it's own hero."
