Enter Jimmy Wilson

It was the next day after the conversation between Scott and Mr. Cheung. Scott was now studying hard in class as midterms were coming up and Jimmy was also busy studying. However, like always, Troy kept bothering Jimmy by kicking his chair non-stop.

"What's the matter, NERD! Can't focus you stupid freak!"

"T-Troy can you stop-"

"'C-can you stop.' Stop sounding like you're having a stroke nerd!" Troy kicked his chair so hard that Jimmy fell to the ground.

People around him were laughing as they believed that nerds are meant to be laughed at.

Suddenly, the bell rang and people started to leave for their next period. Scott felt bad as he knew what Jimmy was going through was awful.

"Get up nerd. You're going to miss your next class." Troy kicked Jimmy for the last time.

Scott got up from his seat and looked at Mr. Cheung. Mr. Cheung winked at Scott as he knew what he had to do. Scott winked back.

Scott came towards Jimmy. "Hey man are you okay?"

"Y-yeah I just tripped t-that's all."

Scott helped pick Jimmy up back to his feet.

"Jimmy. Why do you keep letting Troy push you around? Don't you get tired of that?"

"H-he's not pushing me. H-he's just trying to be friendly with me. Being Troy's friend is one of the best things I've ever h-had."

"Is he really your friend though? Or just his punching bag Jimmy?"

"Well um. I uh." Jimmy was now confused about how Troy had treated him.

"I s-still t-think Troy is a good friend. He would never take advantage of me, S-Scott."

Scott felt something was wrong as if Jimmy knows that he's in pain, but keeps filtering out the truth.

"Jimmy, let's walk out of the classroom, our next period is going to start soon." Both Jimmy and Scott walked out of the classroom. They walked across the hallway as Scott was walking towards the gymnasium.

"So Jimmy midterms is coming up soon and I was hoping if you can tutor me in this class."

Jimmy looked at Scott' "H-helped you? Why should I help you? You try to disrespect me and Troy. The best friend I'll ever had and I know he won't leave me."

"Jimmy. Please understand who you're dealing with. I mean I've been with you in precalculus for around two months and all I see he's doing to you is being a total douchebag."

"And now you're calling him a douchebag. Scott, I think you're a more terrible person than Troy is."

"Jimmy please."

"Scott, I don't have time for your n-nonsense. I have to head to my neuroscience class so goodbye." Jimmy speed walked out of Scott's face.

As Scott saw Jimmy walking away, he felt bad as he didn't know how to explain Troy's abusive behavior towards him at the same time trying to get help before midterms began.

"What do I do?" Scott looked disappointed in himself.

During the gym, the whole class was learning about different yoga exercises with the whole room being quiet. Laura was in front of the class leading them as the gym teacher was sleeping in his office.

Scott was stretching his legs as he questioned himself. "How do I get close to Jimmy?" Scott thought in his head.

As Laura was focused on the class, Scott brought his phone out of his pocket looking at the picture that Ashley had captured. "Ashley, if you were around, what would you do?" Scott looks at the picture as he misses her so much.

"Hey Scott. Get off your phone." Laura caught him and paused the music that was coordinating the yoga exercise.

"Sorry about that." Scott put his phone away

"You better be. You're lucky that my boyfriend isn't around or he'll beat you up so badly." Laura then went back to the lesson.

"What an asshole." Scott thought to himself.

It was now after school and most students were heading home.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Wilson was heading home as he walked towards his house. As he got closer to his house, he went inside. However, unlike most houses, it wasn't a normal household. It was instead an abandoned shed.

The shed is broken down with holes from each side. Windows were broken and the door didn't have a door knob.

Jimmy looked at his house. "H-home S-sweet H-home"

Jimmy went inside with the door not being fully looked, leaving it to swing around. Insides was just a blanket, a shelf, a small table and a dirty pillow close to the torn blanket.

He looked around and saw that he was just by himself. Jimmy was upset as he is the only person in the shed with no parents around him.

"I g-guess i-it's dinner time." Jimmy took a can of tomato soup from his broken shelf.

Using a rusty screwdriver, Jimmy opened the lid and drank the whole can as he didn't have a stove to heat up his soup. Once he consumed the whole can, he threw it on the corner of the shed.

"That was a good meal." Jimmy looked at the can he threw.

Suddenly, a breeze came through the holes of the broken shed making Jimmy feel cold. He was shivering even wearing his blue button up shirt, his suspenders connecting his beige pants, his dress shoes, and his big glasses.

"It's c-c- cold, when did it get this c-c cold." Jimmy shivering constantly as the cold breeze kept coming in. "I g-guess I s-should head t-to bed -e-early."

Jimmy then laid down on the ground with his head on the dirty pillow covering himself with the torn blanket. Even with the blanket on, Jimmy kept shivering with his cold breath coming out of his mouth.

On the floor, Jimmy looked at his broken ceiling wondering whether what Scott told him was actually true or just something to take away the "privilege" that he earned from Troy.

"About Troy, is S-Scott actually r-right." Jimmy tries to sleep as he endures the breezy autumn weather. "I-I don't t-think that's t-true." Jimmy closed his eyes.

It was now the next day and the week before the midterms and Scott still needed a tutor to help him with his midterm exam. During precalculus class, Scott tried to understand all the lessons that he tried to learn since the beginning of the school year, which he did understand recent lessons, but forgot some from the beginning. Scott was in shambles as if he can't find a tutor, then he'll be at the risk of falling behind in class.

"Alright let's end the lesson here for the day class. Remember the midterm exam is coming next week, so be prepared and study hard." Mr. Cheung finished up today's class as the whole class started to leave the classroom.

"Mr. Smith can I see you again." Mr. Cheung wanted Scott to come to his desk.

Scott walked towards him. "What is it Mr. Cheung."

"So Scott, how's the progress going?"

"Well I'm doing fine, but I don't know if I can achieve it."

"Scott, we talked about this here the other day. You know that moping around isn't going to do anything."

Mr. Cheung then whispers into Scott's ear.

"You got this Scott, I know it's hard to try to get along with Jimmy as Troy kept messing around with him, but keep trying and I think he'll be with you."

Scott made a small smile and nodded his head yes.

After their conversation, Scott left the classroom still believing in himself. Scott knew he had the potential to show empathy towards others like Ashley did. He knows he isn't the person that many people saw him, but can be more than who he is. "You can do this Scott. Like Ashley told you. You aren't destined to be an angry person, but can achieve greater things."

However, Scott heard a loud noise coming from the hallway. Wondering what was going on, Scott ran towards the noise running across the hallway and turning the left of it. As he got closer towards the noise, he saw a crowd of students. They were surrounding someone who was making loud noises.

"Coming through please." Scott went into the crowd to see what the students were looking at.

When he got to the front of the crowd, he didn't believe what he saw. It was Jimmy Wilson. And Troy. They were having an argument attracting the student's attention.

"What happened to my homework NERD!" Troy getting his homework from his pocket showing him.

"Why is there an F on my pre calc homework nerd? Aren't you supposed to be the smartest kid in school."

Jimmy was frightened, shaking as he was afraid. "S-sorry T-Troy. I c-couldn't do well on the homework. The weather started to get colder and I couldn't focus."

"Cold weather. Cold weather! It's like fifty degrees. How can a nerd be cold in a gosh darn fifty degree weather!"

"I d-don't know Troy p-please g-give me more t-time."

Jimmy was shaking in fear as the work he did for Troy was slipping.

Troy then took a deep breath. "Jimmy, how can I get mad at you? Let's just take a stroll around the hallways. Maybe we can settle this like teenagers."

Troy grabbed Jimmy's shoulder and started walking the other way from Scott.

The crowd started to disperse as there was nothing left to see. But Scott was suspicious of Troy. Scott looked closely at how Troy was grabbing Jimmy. And he wasn't grabbing him gently. Troy was forcefully grabbing Jimmy's shoulder, possibly causing some pain in that area. Besides that, Troy was forcing Jimmy to walk as Scott saw closely that Jimmy wasn't trying to walk, but was being forced to.

Not trusting Troy after what happened to Ashley, Scott followed them. As he kept following them without him not being noticed, Scott notices that they both went into the chemistry lab. He ran towards the lab behind the door. Scott peeped to see what was going on. He didn't see what was going on. But he heard something. He heard someone was getting beaten up. Scott opened the door a bit wider and he noticed something horrifying. Troy was beating up Jimmy with his bare hands.

Troy kept punching Jimmy causing him to bleed on the nose and have an injured hand.

"So you think you can take a break!" Troy kicked Jimmy to the ground.

"N-no Troy. I'm being honest. The weather is too cold for me to work and-" Jimmy was interrupted by another punch in his face.

"Listen nerd, you are the reason why I'm not out of the football team and if the coach founds out my grades are declining, then he's going to replace me with that fatass who ate all the snacks in the homecoming dance."

"T-Troy please. L-let me have a warm place to stay and-" Jimmy was again interrupted by Troy grabbing his suspender.

He then head butt Jimmy causing him to fall on the ground again

"You should be damn happy that John gave you a place to stay or else he would've put you in a doggie cage."

Troy then tends to kick Jimmy again.

"You know. You're so lucky to be alive. You have the knowledge that no student ever has in Sunshine High and it's such a privilege. Without that privilege, you would be nothing but trash."

Troy cracking his fingers forming a fist once again.

"T-Troy please, I'll do better n-next t-time and I'll-"

"Oh Jimmy Wilson, if you fail me again"

As Troy was getting ready to punch Jimmy, Scott couldn't just stand there. With his strong hatred towards Troy, Scott stood up and opened the door slamming it open.

"TROY!" Scott opened the door very wide.

Troy stopped and looked at Scott. "Well if it isn't Scott Smith, the kid in my math class."

"What the hell is this Troy? I recently heard loud noises in this room while I was passing by and I was wondering what was going on."

Scott looked at Jimmy all bruised and hurt.

"Did you beat up Jimmy Wilson, one of our classmates!"

"What. Beating up Jimmy Wilson. Na, Jimmy accidentally got injured while we were walking here. I was just discussing to him about how he can try to improve his academics at school."

"Then why is his nose bleeding?"

"Oh that. Well um. He slipped on a wet floor and fell on his nose."

Scott knew what Troy said were just lies as he witnessed his abusive actions towards Jimmy.

Suddenly the bell rang.

"Well won't you look at that. It seems that my geology class is about to start soon. I would love to help you Jimmy, but I have something to worry about. So I'll see you again."

Troy left both Scott and Jimmy as he left Jimmy bleeding on the floor.

"You Bastard." Scott told himself while Troy was leaving.

When Troy was far from them, Scott then looked at Jimmy all bruised up and struggling to get up.

"Hey are you alright?" Scott picked up Jimmy.

"Y-y-yeah. I j-j-just fell off the floor, that's all." Jimmy started to stand up with his two feet.

"Yeah you 'fell off'"

"I-it's true I-"

"Jimmy, please stop lying. I knew what was going on. It's just that I didn't want Troy to be suspicious of me."

Jimmy took a huge breath. "F-fine. I'll tell you. Troy Watanabe did beat me up all because of his homework. Usually, I do his work because he told me I was his best friend and friends would do anything for each other."

"Like beating up another friend or taking advantage of you."

Jimmy looked on the side. "Sigh* No."

"Jimmy, please understand this. From what I saw through the door, I don't think you should support him ever again. All he does is just abuse you for being a nerd and only wants to be 'friends' with you for your high academics. All he cares about is his football reputation as well as those two douchebags."

"Wait r-r-really?"

"Yes Jimmy. I know this is a lot for you to take in, but I really see them for who they are and they are not the people you think they are."

"Oh my God." Jimmy, questioning his existence, started to space out.

"But S-Scott, if I stopped being friends with Troy, then who will be my f-friend. I'll be alone forever. People will always laugh at me because I'm a nerd."

"I'll be your friend."

Jimmy then looked at Scott.

"I'm also an athlete, well former athlete, and I respect others whoever they are, whether they are big, small, boy, girl, different ethnicities, those who aren't bright in school. And those who are. The only people I don't respect are those who think too much of themselves and believe that they are better than others."

"Jimmy. I can tell you're a really smart kid and I think you have the potential to be more than just a nerd. I believe people aren't destined to be someone specific, but can explore who they want to be."

"W-who I want to be. H-how can I see t-that S-Scott?"

"Well maybe if we can be friends, I can help you explore your true self."

"So what do you say Jimmy Wilson?"

Scott brought a pack of facial tissues from his backpack.

"Will you be my friend and my tutor?"

Scott looked at the tissues thinking about Scott's offer.

When thinking about how Scott treated him with tissues for his bloody nose compared to Troy giving him a bloody nose. Scott decided.

"Yes. I will be your friend as well as your tutor Scott Smith."

Jimmy took the tissues and wiped all the blood off his nose and face.

After Jimmy wiped all the blood, he threw the paper away and gave his hand towards Scott.

"I-if you will h-help m-me find my t-true self, then I'll help you with your midterm exam."

Scott smiled as he promised to find Jimmy's true purpose in the school and got the help that he'll get for his class.

"Yeah I'll do whatever it takes. Jimmy Wilson."

They both shook hands as they began a journey to help each other and to end Troy's dominance.

Hi everyone. Sorry for posting another late chapter. I was busy taking my midterms and was hoping to release a chapter last week, but I guess I was just tired from overstudying. Anyways, enjoy the new chapter and the new arc as we will discover Scott and Jimmy's friendship.
