Chapter 3

Timeskip 5 years

A child was descending a mountain, running for dear life as he made his way through highly concentrated vegetation which was doing a very good job of hindering his movements. He was doing his best to descend the mountain as fast as his feeble legs could allow, twisting and turning mid air and while also on the ground to avoid injuries. But he was failing spectacularly as the presence of the scratches and thumps present on his face and arms made themselves visible as the sun was beginning to rise. He was only wearing a trsouser and sporting a pair of shoes with his torso bare and the lion's head tattooed on his small back visible to the world. If somebody would ask him why he was without any upper clothing, the child would deem it a necessity and reply that after the training session the clothing would stick into his wounds which in turn were very painful when taking off his clothes. But to those who knew him well be it his mother or father, they would say it was because of his strong desire to show off that tattoo of his. Why would they say that? That is considering the fact that he still wore pants though they also tended to stick into whe wounds he would sustain.

Back to the present situation, the only reason the boy better known as little Ra was desperate in running was not because he was just running but because he was escaping. Specifically speaking he was running away from a freaking mountain goat which was four times his size was also hot on his tail and hellbent on knocking him down.

The strangest part in this whole affair was that despite the goat being larger than him and being covered in all that goat hair, it was not slowing down but catching up with no visible injuries on its body.

It is widely presumed throughout the world that when you are close to death, your life will flash through your eyes and that is how little Ra couldn't help but feel as he remembered the life he had lived before coming to this point.

Flashback(childhood)

Pov Ra

As the lady that snatched from the monster's arms took me with her I couldn't help but feel as though growing up wouldn't be so bad after all. She fed me some milk in a bottle from who knows where and after calming down I realised that I was really hungry. I had never felt so famished as I did that day after taking the first sip of the milk. Thank God that it was enough and after waking up later on during the day I felt better. From there the days went on very fast as I came to realise that my new name was Zentar D Ra and my new guardians names were Sonell and Felgar. I realized that the most eye-catching part of my name to the inhabitants of this world would be the D but to me it was Ra as it symbolized not just me but an ancient god believed to exist in my past life. Growing up in this new family was not all that bad but it was stressful. With the regular laughing of Felgar and the arguing that would come later on when he did something stupid and his wife would scold him but he would just laugh it off and a one-sided beat down would ensue afterwards. At some moments I would think of my past life with the family and relationships that came with it and I would come to realise that I held no particular attachments nor desire to head back.

I would just feel a bit sad and try to come up with any reason of why my feelings were as so. The only thing that came to mind was that in this world it was believed that power specifically conquerors haki originated from the soul and became a will that would only be attained by one in a million. So I came to believe that my soul had undergone a transformation to hold the power that had been granted to me and therefore let go of any attachments to my past world. All that aside I discovered that the island I resided in was known as Valcino island and that it was not an easily stumbled upon place as dictated by the few people that inhabited this village which through all twist and turns that came with it's development was known as Valcino village. I spent most of my time outside chanting 'cruel sun' but other than that I made friends with the guard who was always absent minded, the beautiful lady who served drinks but always handed me a glass of milk and the little brats who refused to refer to me as aneki. That may be due to us having the same age physically or them being slightly older but I would ensure they called me aneki one day and then bask at that wobderful feeling while the sun's rays shone on me and the beautiful lion's mark on my back.

Life was not that bad in all truth but that was before I hit six years old. Ferlga whom I now refer to as dad decided to train me and how best to start than forcing a child to breathe in a high altitude then force him to run down the mountain while being chased by a giant goat for six months saying that the training would only end if I arrived with no injuries on me.

Back to the present

Ra pov

I can see it again, the light is coming for me once more. That image was quickly erased from my view as I saw the goat heading straight towards me aiming for a headbutt. This made me shiver but considering the speed at which I was moving and comparing it with the distance separating me from the goat, I couldn't make any sudden turns, so I steeled myself and resigned myself for the strongest headbutt I would experience in both lives. My resolve was cut short as I felt my body in the air and heared the best and worst laugh I know"Ryarararararara.." I heard a loud thump from below and that was when I saw that the damn goat had obliterated a series of trees that were obstructing its path. It looked around for some time and after failing to discover my presence, it made its way upwards back to its home while skipping and hopping as though it had not tried to murder me. As my dad held me on his shoulders like a sandbag while rushing back home, I couldn't help but wonder how the goat had gotten ahead of me and why this damn sunshine isn't making itself known so that I can get my sweet revenge.
