CHAPTER 30: A HUSBAND’S AGONY

“Janine, have you cancelled my appointments for this afternoon?”

“Yes Sir,” my secretary answered cheerily. “And Sir, your tux has arrived. Clean and pressed.”

“Thank you, Janine. Please bring it in, I’m leaving in a while.”

She left for a while and when she returned, she is already holding my new set of suits. She’s giving me a semi-teasing, semi-excited grin.

I can’t help but smile, too. It is so unlike me to prepare like this for a date. Even when I was dating Shelley before, I’ve never experienced this phase where I will prepare like a teenager going to his first date. And to be completely honest, this is new to me.

Why am I even making an effort when she’s already my wife?
