A Hidden Beast?

The sky is starting to darken and Auryn can hear both distant and close cries of beast, 'I really need to find a shelter'

Auryn thought while he kept on running and navigating through the jungle, whenever he felt a cry of beast, he will hastily change direction and fled.

After all, the blue strip tiger has given him quite some injuries during their earlier clash and he is in no mood for fighting, he is tired from both the fight and continuous fleeing.

"Hah... hah... hah..." Auryn panted hard as he came to a stop, finally before a cave.

The hair receded and his bones snapped back to its former place as he deactivated his transformation.

He removed his shirt and saw the deep gash on his chest, "oh dear..." Auryn mumbles as he glance at the deep gash on his chest.

'I have to disinfect this wound or else it will become infected' Auryn thought.

Auryn thought for a while and decided to look for something to eat, he went ahead and pick about three fruits.

'This should do for the night' Auryn thought.

Auryn walked back to the cave and sat down, he is in guard while eating the apple, it will not be favourable if a beast caught him off guard.

Auryn took a bite and felt some movement, he look around for a while but he couldn't see a single beast.

Tap... tap.... Tap

'The first two steps are different from the last one, is the beast wary of me too?' Auryn thought as he look around but still couldn't found it.

Auryn kept hearing the walking sound, he pretend as if he's oblivious about the existence of this hidden beast.

Just when Auryn look down to pick an apple, he saw a sight that shocked him!

It is a small cute furry beast about to steal one of his apples, the beast stopped in one place as if caught during some criminal act, it's because it was this small and Auryn has been expecting for a normal size or large beast!

He look at Auryn and Auryn look back, they stared for a couple of seconds before it started to backout, it kept its eyes on Auryn while retreating.

'It seems it is quiet hungry too' Auryn thought, he extended his hand towards the beast with anapple on it.

The beast almost jump away In fright as he thought Auryn is about to grab him, Auryn released The apple before the beast and smiled at it.

'Which type of beast is this?' Auryn thought with an amused smile.

The beast is still wary as it looks towards he apple and back at Auryn, he do that for a long time before picking the apple and taking a bite.

'It is curious, wise but innocent... well that's to be expected since its a young beast' Auryn thought.

Auryn has already gathered some dried leafs, his knowledge from his previous life become useful, because there's no matches with him now and he is not sure if those exist in this world.

He started rubbing the stick between his palms slowly at first but gradually increasing the speed while maintaining it.

Small smoke started to rise which further motivates Auryn to continue.

Whoosh!

The fire came to life and slowly engulf the dried leafs and sticks around it, 'Here we have it, a campfire' Auryn thought as he look at the burning flame while the beast is scared at first but decided to come closer and enjoy the warmth of the flame too.

'I guess this beast is destined to be mine, it seems to be slightly friendly to me' Auryn thought as he watch it eating the apple while seating before the flame.

"Are you interested in becoming my familiar?" Auryn asked, he believed the beast is quiet intelligent and will understand his words.

The beast's ears twitch for a while but he ignored Auryn and kept on eating, Auryn extended his hand and grab the apple it was happily chewing.

"Answer me first" As Auryn said that, an annoyed expression appeared on the beast's cute face, it uses its small hand to point at the apple.

"I will only give you when I have an answer" Auryn said.

The beast turn around for a while as if thinking about it, it then turn back and point at the apple again while nodding it's small head.

Auryn bite his finger to draw blood, he then wrote some weird symbols on the ground, he gesture for the beast to move into it.

It look warily at Auryn but decided to do it when it saw the apple in the circle, Auryn brought his finger before it's mouth and drop some blood.

"I, Auryn Starwind hereby accepted you as my familiar, I promise to not maltreat you and will not betray you in exchange, I request that you will lend me your strength and wisdom when necessary"

Some of the parts are not necessary but Auryn just included it, it will successful as long as the pet beast has devour his blood which will then bind it to him, so basically all the talking is added by Auryn.

The ground glow and increased in intensity which means that the little beast has agreed! But there's another situation now... it is demanding the last apple too, the one and only!
