Stranger Things: Journey into the Twisted Mind

Some people exist with pride, others fight with pride, some compete with pride, and others fail with pride, but few can resign with pride. When you finish reading this paragraph, congratulations! You have imagined how this last case would be. Death could be accepted, but thanks to unknown individuals, he had another chance, one where, although it would be very different, there was a freshness that would lead him down another path. But as he spent his days as a high school student, something changed within him, and with his new abilities, he discovered that things could be much more interesting if he bet his life in another way. ... Self-Interests

"Well, that was intense." Jonathan floated in the air as he replayed in his mind what had happened a few minutes ago.

Yina didn't bother to look at him; she was focused on playing video games, obviously annoyed. 'I told you to stop with those silly jokes.'

But at that moment, Alex approached his daughter's room. He looked at the closed door and, thinking about what his daughter's young boyfriend had said, decided to open the door without knocking.

"You should keep the door open; you'd get better ventilation." Alex opened the door but immediately fell silent upon seeing Jonathan floating in the air.

Yina was startled, looked at her father, and remained silent.

Jonathan greeted her with a smile, clearly interested in the reaction Yina's father would have upon realizing he was special. But as if he hadn't expected what was happening, Alex closed the door, opened it again, and when he looked at where Jonathan was, he found him lying on the bed about twenty meters from where he originally was.

"Is something wrong, Dad?" Yina broke into a cold sweat, looking at her confused father.

"No, keep the door open..." Alex swore he had seen Jonathan flying and thought, 'It must be the alcohol. I need to get sober to avoid giving that boy a bad impression of me.'

Yina stood up, looked at Jonathan, who was pretending to sleep, and, without thinking, threw her cell phone at him. "What will you do if they discover you?"

Jonathan opened his eyes, looked at the cell phone floating in the air in front of him, and said, "To get reactions from your father, I decided to tell him we are dating. You told me you hated him, but I just saw the opposite with his sudden visit."

'The door is open...' Yina never thought about what couples usually do alone when she was with Jonathan. Now that he mentioned it, she understood why her father left the door open.

"No, impossible..."

"Not only are you lying to yourself, but also to others. When will you stop being such a coward and face things as they really are? If he hates you, we could leave here for a better place; I doubt he would find us." Jonathan knew things would cease to be peaceful soon, so he would have to part ways with Yina very soon unless she wanted to have fun.

Today, he had advanced things for the people who should be looking for him right now. He really didn't have better methods to learn the whole story of this family if not now.

'You must be better than this if you want to improve, Yina; you can't always escape fear.' Jonathan thought, looking at Yina and waiting for her response.

"Forget it; my father doesn't care about me."

"You've been neglecting yourself a lot. How should we solve it?" Jonathan wanted to know if Yina had any idea about it.

"It doesn't matter; forget it." Yina took her cell phone, which was still floating, and sat in a corner of her room to play video games.

Jonathan stopped insisting; he didn't know what to think of Yina and even less of her intentions beyond learning how this family had powers.

Genetic inheritance or laboratory creation?

That's the question he wants to discover. Are they all lab rats, or do some have these abilities through genetic inheritance and evolution?

Discovering the source of their powers would not only give him more control over himself but also allow him to find ways to increase his powers and identify the most powerful people in this world before acting against large organizations.

He was bored; at least he would play with the only valuable coin he had. 'My life is the coin; only by betting my life can I feel my emotions awaken...'

If many knew that Jonathan saw the world from a different perspective, they would understand his point of view and the reason why he wanted to get involved in events that could create catastrophes. Besides, he wanted to know if he was here because of someone else's ability.

Time travel, dimension piercing, and realities created based on others' memories. Jonathan knew that anything one knew as fiction in this place could be real.

"Yina, the food is ready."

Jonathan, who was thinking about all this, opened his eyes and walked towards the room's exit. "I'm starving."

"No need to go..."

"Now, I understand why you're so thin; you need to eat more." Jonathan didn't wait for Yina to leave the room, and as soon as he mentioned he was hungry, he headed towards the kitchen.

The benefits Jonathan hoped to gain were just information he couldn't find anywhere on the internet. He would stop involving this family in his interests when they were no longer useful to him.

"You're here; have a seat." Griselda looked at Jonathan as he came down the stairs.

"Thank you, and sorry for coming without notice."

"Don't apologize; we're very happy that Yina is encouraged to bring visitors home."

"You're the first to come."

Jonathan knew that. This family seemed indifferent to Yina's problems because there was little they could really do. It wasn't a family that knew how to fight; they were all horrible in terms of skills, and their powers weren't geared towards fighting.

The only one he worried about was Yina's father. He could find a way to travel to the past in one of his memories if he managed to do so artificially. Jonathan was familiar with all the powers of this family, but if he were careless, it would be a problem.

"Yina, sit down." Griselda looked at her granddaughter coming down the stairs.

This was a special occasion where the family ate together; it wasn't common for this to happen, so some were very happy.
