4 New World, 3 Gifts and Surprise

I was looking at the giant golden lucky wheel that will decide the world I will end up in while thinking how cliché this situation was. The lucky weel was really humongous with a radius of around three meters I think. On it was written maybe thousands of icons and in every one of the icons were written names of worlds I could possibly end up in. I didn't have time to examine the lucky wheel further as before me suddenly appeared a golden lever.

"Now try your luck and pull the lever. Hurry up, there is no reason to hesitate." Celine said and I pulled the lever while praying to lady luck. The wheel started to spin. It took some time unit it was slowing down. If I had still my body I would be drenched in sweat from nervousness. The wheel finally stopped with the arrow pointing at the name of the world that will be from now on my world. A world in which I would live, try to survive, and possibly find happiness and maybe even love.

"Harry Potter and MCU Crossover." I ended up in quite an interesting but dangerous world. Combination of a Harry Potter World that is full of bigots and dunderheads that don't realize the full power and possibilities of magic. And MCU World is full of dangerous people, items, and powers that can easily destroy worlds. I will have to play it smart if I want to survive while trying to get some benefits. I am not that ambitious person, wanting to become ruler or god but If I am given a chance to get my hand on something like Infinity stone I would be a fool if I will let it slip away. I will even have a chance to meet some of my favorite fictional characters. My new life will be really interesting.

"Oh, a quite dangerous world you got but at least you won't be bored. Like a Demon, you will naturally be able to use magic. Hmm, I will reincarnate you so you will be in the same year in Hogwarts as Harry Potter. That way you will have a chance to experience an interesting childhood. You can be grateful." After she said I realized something important.

"Wait. Don't tell me I will be reincarnated as a child?"

She looked at me quite amusedly. "No. You will reincarnate as a baby." I was horrified at that news. I don't want to be a baby again.

"Why? Is there no other way?" I asked hopefully.

But my hope was extinguished.

"Unfortunate for you, no. You have to be reborn as a baby because your soul has to become accustomed to your new body and the presence of Demon Seed in it. There is no better way to this process of synchronization of body and soul than to slowly and naturally grow up from the baby to an adult Demon. So take it positively and take it that as I said before. You will have a chance to experience an interesting childhood. In your past life, you couldn't but now you can. These are the main reasons. Another reason is that this way it is more interesting and funny for us too." She said with clear amusement in her sweet voice.

"..."

"Oh, and you don't have to worry about being born into some family and playing their child. Your body will be artificially created as a one-year-old baby and teleported before the door of a random London orphanage. So the choice will be yours if you want to stay in the orphanage or you can try to get adopted and become a part of a new family."

I don't know what to say or think about that. Do I want to have a new family? I feel like I will be betraying my mother. But I will have to move on. How can I live my second life if I will be stuck thinking about the first? I will have to ponder about it later.

"Now it is time for the Gifts." Again with just a wave of Celine's hand the lucky wheel disappeared and everywhere around me were suddenly flying countless white cards. It was a mesmerizing sight with the endless darkness in the background. "Just grab three random cards. It's not something difficult so go on."

I looked at the flying card all around me and decided just to grab some random card within the reach of my arm. I reached for the first card and when the card was in my hand words appeared on the former blank white card.

[Becomes one with the World itself. However, efficiency will decrease once preparations to attack are taken.]

This is a good ability. Whit this I can move around undetected and I always liked the fighting style of assassins. Silent and efficient. And cool. I know that if I will go to Hogwarts that I will learn some invisibility and concealment spells but these spells have limitations. For example, they can be canceled by counterspells or detection wards. And I don't think that I can hide with these spells from higher-level beings or people that can feel magic. With Presence Concealment EX I can hide from powerful beings on the level of Heroic Spirits and may be higher I don't know and not to mention the ability to become one with the World itself.

I reached for the second card.

[They excel at creating and mixing potions and herbs, treating the illnesses and injuries of others. They can utilize dead animals (dead animal parts). They can tame, domesticate, and utilize plants. They have access to Spirit Vision that shows them others' "Health" and "Well Being". ]

Oh, power from Lord of the Mysteries, one of my favorite novels with one of the most interesting power systems. But unfortunately, I only got Sequence 9 ability. Still, this will be very useful in Hogwarts and Wizarding World. I can become a Magic Herbologist or a Potion Master. One shouldn't underestimate the art of potions. With it, one can bottle fame, brew glory, and even stopper death. So overall a rather good Gift. I can't be always lucky.

I reached for the third and my final card.

[Agony Symbiote]

[Dark purple and dark pink mix colored symbiont. An offspring of Venom. ]

[The Symbiote Agony can grant its host an elongated jaw, fangs, claws, prehensile hair, and prehensile tongue. Symbiont enhances the host's physical abilities, senses, and healing. Agony has the original power to generate metabolic acid and absorb metabolic chemicals. As Symbiont Agony has a weakness to heat and sonic attacks. ]

Isn't Agony a female Symbiote? Do Symbionts even have a gender? And it's not like I don't like purple and pink but to have whole my whole body covered in these colors is a bit. It's good that I got the Presence Concealment. Symbionts are strong and useful but they have a few problems like the weakness to heat and sonic attacks but maybe I can do something about it with magic. Celine said before that the Gifts I get are connected to my soul so I don't have to worry that someone will take Agony from me so one problem solved. Another problem is that Symbionts need a steady supply of phenethylamine, chemicals found in the human brain, or processed chocolate. So I will maybe have to let Agony eat human brains or a lot of chocolate if I as her host won't be able to provide her with enough phenethylamine and I wouldn't want her to be weakened or worse go berserk. Well, I will leave this problem for the future.

The countless flying cards around disappeared and the only things that disturbed the world of pure darkness were my presence and Celine sitting behind her office desk and the door standing to the right of the desk. "I would say that you got rather good Gifts. The first two are static but the last one has potential in combination with you being a Demon. You will have to get as strong as you can if you want to be a proper member of the MDA and be of use to our God. Now it is finally the time to get your new body. The most interesting part." Her mesmerizing sky blue eyes were sparkling with anticipation and got the feeling that I was missing something.

I didn't have time to think about it more as she once again waved her hand and before me again appeared a lucky wheel but this one was even bigger and in silver color. There were thousands of ikons with names of fictional characters. But as I was reading the names I realized that it looked like there are only female ones. Dread started to creep over me.

"Wait. There has to be some mistake." I tried but she was not paying attention to me.

"Now, let the wheel spin!" She proclaimed and the wheel started to spin despite my panic. The wheel finally stopped with an arrow pointing at a certain female name to my horror.

[Suou Pavlichenko]

I know that name. Suou Pavlichenko is one of the main characters of the anime Darker Than Black, good but not-so-famous anime. She is Half-Japanese-half-Russian. She is slim, has red hair in time-cut, pale green eyes, and a fair skin complexion. She was a Doll but with emotions created by her brother when the original Suou died. She becomes a Contractor with the ability to materialize a PTRD-41 Anti-Tank Rifle from her locket. But the abilities of Contractors come with an Obeisance. Suou has the Obeisance that after use of her ability she has to make origami swans. Another interesting thing about Suou is that she was more gentle compared to other Contractors.

The contractor's psychology is quite interesting. Contractors are fully capable of experiencing emotions, but those feelings do not play a prominent role in their thought processes. They emanate absolutely no sense of drive, hatred, malice, anger, fighting spirit, animosity, or even bloodlust even when in mid-battle. They are described as being totally rational, totally amoral, totally competent, and totally efficient. The contractor's mind has unlimited storage and analytical capacity; able to instantly recall and cross-correlate any information stored with perfect clarity.

Contractors feel no guilt and in essence, only about their own well-being, and everything else is reduced to a cost/benefit analysis. Contractors automatically make the most optimal decision in any scenario and deal with events in the most efficient manner. They automatically seize all opportunities and make the most out of any situation.

Celine early said that my being Demon will change the psychology of my now body so I hope I will retain at least the unlimited memory storage. That is really useful.

But the glaring problem is that Suou Pavlichenko is a girl!

"You are a lucky one. Your now body is a red-haired cutie. You must be happy."

"Happy?" I was shocked. "I get it that I have to be reborn as a baby but why do I have to be reincarnated as a girl!" I shouted out at her.

"Oh my. I didn't tell you?" The amusement was clear in her voice and there was a mocking look in her eyes. "Every Demon of the MDA is a female" She laughed at me.

"What?" I was stunned.

"Now that everything is over it's time for you to be finally reborn. I wish you good luck Suou~chan~."

I didn't have time to tell anything else as I lost consciousness.
