CHAPTER ONE
" Thanks babe for the flowers, the chocolates and jewellery were so exquisite, How did you know my favourite brand? I loved them!." Anna squealed.
"Glad you liked them, you can consider it compensation for our breakup," I said without looking up at the beautiful model by my desk.
"Thanks lov….. Wait what?" Anna stared at the breathtaking Ceo in disbelief. "You're breaking up with me?" Grief clouded her eyes.
"You must be kidding right?"
The next second she laughed confusing me yet i remained occupied
"I get it, it's a prank, where are the hidden cameras?" She adjusted quickly to smoothen her pleated skirt.
I finally turned my attention to the self-absorbed lady in my office scanning her beautiful face l.
Anna smiled and went on
" You can't possibly be serious Derek, I mean you're bluffing right"?
"I'm serious Anna, we're done. You're a good girl"
" Smart, gorgeous, you'll definitely meet someone else"
" But for now you and I are done"
I cleared his throat
"I've left you the penthouse we stayed in last night, my secretary will handle the transfer procedures and have them delivered to your suite this evening, I also had 30,000 dollars delivered to your account"
I could see her face turnred with anger as i kept on talking. yet i didn't mind i wanted to be ober with her as quick as possible
"You bastard" She screamed
"You think you can play off my feelings like that?"
"feelings" i raised a brow
"yes derek , my feelings you think you can buy it off withh money?"
"I love you..... I fucking love you Derek!"
"Love?" i laughed savouring the taste of the word in my mouth while spinning my pen.
Anna looked like she lost her soul as she stared at me, then she began laughing hysterically.
"Yes love, But what would a heartless bastard like you know!"
She packed her bags kicking the flowers i got her around the office in rage as she left.
She paused by the door to look at me , her blue eyes swirling with so many emotions
"I curse you to never find love in your life"
I laughed "I don't need it"
"Yeah" she agreed
" A heartless man like you deserves to be alone for the rest of your life, no love, no marriage, no children."she said
I scowled
"I assure you, me getting married is no business of yours and I can certainly get married with no love and feelings attached" i retorted
Anna smiled "Well I'm certainly looking forward to that happening."
"Goodbye Derek," She said with a smile playing on her lips leaving a scowling me mulling over her words.

I got up pretty late. My alarm must have rung for a while and then stopped on its own.
I got out of bed, a quick glance at the wall clock in my cramped room gave me a jolt. "Shit I'm late"
Realising that there wasn't so much time left till my manager got to work, i quickly brushed my teeth and had a hurried bath before changing into a casual pair of jeans and my mum's old T-shirt.
i picked up my shoes and stuffed my workplace uniform into it before rushing out the door, quickly locking it behind me.
I hurriedly managed to put on my shoes as i ran towards the bus stop and tied my frayed shoelaces as soon as i got in and took my seat.
"You're late" A young woman in a yellow uniform commented as I walked into the restaurant and headed towards the counter.
"So sorry, I didn't hear my alarm ring" I flashed a clumsy smile explaining before walking into the kitchen
"Every time" the lady rolled her eyes, i caught it but i didn't care. i git to work before my manager thats all that mattered.
" Hey og" i called on my way to the kitchen!
The young brunette took her last order from a customer before running to catch up with me in the kitchen.
By then i had already changed into my own uniform. "Hey El, alarm again?" she asked knocking shoulders with me.
"isshh Ogla, you just know it!" i groaned exasperated
"I need to make a mental note to change my alarm clock on my next payday, its so annoying how it never gets me up"
Ogla laughed at my outburst "You definitely need a change"
"El you're up next" Someone yelled from the counter.
"Ok coming" i yelled back
"I guess we should get started with work" i sighed.
Ogla agreed "Yes we do"
As I grinned my way to the counter from the kitchen, the doorbells chimed and the most handsome man i had ever seen in my 24 years of existence on earth walked in and right at me .
