Chapter 5

"Onesies"

As usual, I woke up early in the morning when I suddenly smelled something good being cooked downstairs. I got out of bed and started fixing my hair before going to the kitchen. When I finally came downstairs, I saw little Kiel inside a crib, being guarded by Roy.

"Kiel!" I squealed as soon as I saw him giggling while playing with Roy. I immediately ran in their direction; Royce started to panic as I approached them. Once I had reached them... I tried to hug Kiel, but before I could do that... Royce had already taken him out of the crib, making me fall onto the couch; I looked up in his direction and saw him carrying Kiel. I started to glare at Roy; He was narrowing his eyes at me while tightening his lips.

"You just woke up, yet you're already planning to squeeze Kiel to death." He said as he turned around and walked away; I started pouting while moving my legs back and forth on the couch, as I suddenly heard my aunt laughing. My face suddenly brightened up at the fact that I heard my aunt's voice; I sat up straight and smiled as soon as I saw her face.

"How you've been, My little star?" Aunt Shelvie asked me as I let out a soft chuckle after hearing her call me "little star." Aunt Shelvie started calling me that when I was 5. At that time, I was really gloomy and didn't speak much like I used to. And yet somehow... Whenever she calls me that, I feel nostalgic and would always find myself smiling out of nowhere.

"I'm doing good, Aunt Shelvie." I answered as she gave me a very bright smile, before placing her right hand on her chin. Kiel then ran towards me, I looked at Royce and saw how panicked he looked just by seeing Kiel with me, I started to smile as I carried Kiel high.

Aunt Shelvie then started to smirk as soon as she saw me smile just having Kiel in my grasp, "How's Clayden? Are the two of you dating yet?" Aunt Shelvie asked me out of nowhere, that question of hers almost made my jaw drop. I cleared my throat and continued to entertain Kiel. "Don't ignore me, Rae~" Aunt Shelvie teased as she went towards us and took Kiel from my grasp, I groaned while I placed my hand on my mouth; trying my best to hide my face and groaned.

"There's nothing going on..." I muttered. I felt my cheeks heat up while Aunt Shelvie continued to tease me. Clayden has always been focused on his career ever since the day I met him, He wasn't really an actor in our first meeting, but 'I saw how hard he worked to audition for Zephyr Company.' I thought while I smiled just remembering the sight of him celebrating after getting into the company.

The sound of the door being opened made me look in the direction where the doorway was, a little later—suddenly heard my mom's voice soon after saying "I'm back!" along with the plastics rustling. I rushed towards the doorway and saw that Clayden was carrying the groceries that Mom bought, I stood there gazing at him. "Oh, Raven. You're finally awake, can you set the table for me?" My Mom asked as I shook my head when Royce suddenly went towards mom, to get the mom's things that were currently in her hand.

"Sure Mom." I answered as Mom kissed me on the cheek before heading upstairs with a smile on her face. Clayden then walked passed me with a smirk on his face and whispered.

"What are you spacing out for, Rae?" He asked as he chuckled before heading to the kitchen, leaving me speechless as he said that. I turned around to calm myself down but... Aunt Shelvie was already looking in my direction with a cheeky smile on her face.

"Nothing, really~?" Aunt Shelvie said as she had Kiel being carried by her in her arms. 'Yes, Nothing... At least for him.' I thought while staring at Clayden's back.

As I had finished preparing the table, I noticed people laughing in the kitchen. It was Clayden, He was with Uncle Jerome and Royce. "You weren't supposed to put eggs in the marinate yet! We haven't even mixed the dry ingredients!" Royce shouted. Uncle Jerome started laughing while Clayden only rubbed the back of his head, Royce then pushed him aside and started to prepare the food for dinner instead of letting Clayden do it.

"I feel bad for your future wife, Clayden."

"He won't have a wife, that's for sure." Royce stated while it made Uncle Laugh even more as Clayden kneeled on the floor looking pale.

"Am I that bad?" He muttered. Royce finally finished the marinate and bent over to Clayden's ears and whispered.

"Yes." As they all started laughing, while I stood there smiling at the sight.

"Clayden had been a part of this family. He gets along with your uncle, brother, and even your mother. I wonder when exactly will he be really part of the family." Aunt Shelvie suddenly appeared behind me with Baby Kiel in her arms, as she looked at the sight as well.

"I should call Mom down, it's time to eat now." I said. I walked away looking down at the floor, as Aunt Shelvie's voice echoed into my head. And this is the reason why, I don't like my Aunt being around me. She knows how to read me, too well...

I was about to go upstairs to tell Mom that breakfast was ready, but as I got near the stairs... Mom was already there, staring at us in awe. "Mom?" I called out for her, making most of them look at her as well, and I only got a smile from her.

"Don't mind me watching you guys have fun." She said while swaying both of her hands repeatedly looking anxious, maybe because of us staring at her. 'Mom has always been like this, sometimes I wondered how mom fell in love with Father...' I thought as I stared at Mom smiling. Kiel then started to giggle putting out both of his hands trying to reach Mom, making Aunt Shelvie feel astonished.

"Kiel, wants you to join, Maegan."

"I'm good." My mom said as she went downstairs looking at every step she was taking. 'Mom is literally the whole opposite of Father, at least... that's what I think.' I stared at my mom in awe of her beauty.

"We should eat now before it gets cold."

A little later, it was already dusk when Mom left with Aunt Shelvie and the others; I was left alone with Clayden and Little Kiel. I started to cook the marinated chicken that Royce prepared earlier, while I wore the onesies that Aunt Shelvie wanted me to wear to entertain Kiel.

"Here you go, Rae. Wear this so that you can easily calm Kiel down." Aunt Shelvie told me as she handed me two pairs of onesies. I held the white onesie down with my hands and it looked like it was an animal, It was...that light fury from How to Train Your Dragon.

"Kiel likes this?" I asked. She hummed in response, "Well, I leave it to you which one you'll wear. It's really convenient for your Uncle whenever I'm not around."

I sighed while making the sauce for the fried chicken bites, I placed the fried sliced cabbages on a big plate and placed some of the strained chicken on top of it, separating most of the fried chicken in a different plate. A little later, I started to hear Kiel giggling out of nowhere in between the sounds of the soup boiling.

'What's going on?' I thought as I checked the soup if it was good to go before I left the kitchen.

"Kiel?" I called. Checking what was going on, and saw Clayden holding the other pair of onesies while entertaining Kiel in the crib. "Oh, You were here?" I asked making Clayden look back in my direction.

"I went here after watching Aunt Shelvie leave with Royce, I noticed Kiel by the window sitting here quietly playing. I bet he was getting lonely, so I decided to play with him." He said looking at me with a smile on his face. Later, I noticed his hair being tied up, probably by Kiel.

I laughed at how stupid Clayden looked with his hair being tied up, "Thanks for that Clyde," I thanked him as tied my hair up into a bun. "I'll be back with some apples." I said. He then nodded in response while Kiel tugged his shirt making him pay attention to Kiel.

"What's up, little guy?"

I smiled before leaving the living room while Clayden played with Kiel—Babysitting isn't really easy, but I guess with Roy and Clayden's help... I think I can do it. No. I spoke too soon, as soon as I arrived in the living room with the peeled apples... I saw Clayden, wearing the black dragon onesie from the How to Train Your Dragon cartoon... Aunt did say Little Kiel likes that cartoon, but why is Clayden even jumping around wearing that!? No... He's dancing that trend from tiktok!?

I sighed looking at him dance, I then placed the plate of peeled apples on the center table before leaving and it seemed like Clayden had already noticed me. I suddenly heard that song being played and felt him dragging me near Kiel. "Come and join me, Rae. I can't be the only one having all the fun. Yes?" He said with a smirk on his face leaving me speechless. I'm at a loss on what is about to happen, but what I do know is that his face should really be illegal.
